There is a great Chinese restaurant in a Davis, CA gas station (also a Chevron). The staff is amazing, they treated us like we were family. I bet there are many places like this across the state.

@Josh I love both chinese and vietnam cuisine. But there's alot of filipino food out there that could give them a run for their money. It's just not as mainstream as Lumpia or Adobo.
I gotta agree with the old lady at the end. Good food is good food.
Also, why does everyone think it's strange when you mix certain things together? It's like people fear new flavors. When I go to Mexican restaurants I mix the jamaica with the limonada and they always look crazy and ask "are you sure???". It's basically a Mexican Arnold Palmer and it's tasty af, you'll love it.

Honestly though, I actually enjoyed watching Trap Kitchen’s part, that is a hell of a lot of passion!!! Honestly it feels so good to see some sort of camaraderie among rap culture. And I normally associate rap culture with rather the opposite, but this puts a smile on my face to see them doing something that matters and is useful is so satisfying!

I highly recommend the Stinking Rose in San Francisco they have a lot of garlic based cuisine there. They’re roasted garlic is incredible.

As a native Californian, I'm a little mad only one of the stories was up north in San Francisco. Silicon Valley has some great food.

I mean... there are a lot of good restaurants from different cultures, especially on Valencia street in sf, but I’ve honestly never tried the food in Silicon Valley so I’m not gonna say anything.
california is huge, in terms of size and population. it's impossible to include all the different restaurants throughout it's entirety within a single video.
I'm proud to report that after these years, Lilian's had expanded into at least three new locations! It's an SFV legend!

One of my favorite things about our state is that we do have gourmet restaurants but the best food comes from little places like the ones in this video.

The elderly Chinese woman at the end seems so sweet. Such an amazing soul. I’m making plans to drive up to San Francisco next weekend to eat at her restaurant and hopefully meet this lovely lady.
The car wash restaurant thing is basically A1A Car Wash + Los Pollos Hermanos.

Here we go again! RESTAURATEUR is NOT the Owner of a Restaurant. It is a Chef de Partie who cooks "A la Carte" food (table side cooking). Cecilia Chang is right! "Good food is good food!" Gourmet Food is not limited to being cooked by Chefs in the kitchens of fine dining restaurants. A good Cook can make even the simplest of ingredients to taste great!
