Just loved Australia. First visited in 1967 as a Pommie emigrating and spent 16 months there. Then back 15 years ago on holiday and also to see my son who was living there. Interestingly enough when I was living there, the opera house was just being built. It was lovely to come back and see the finished result.

Thank you for your lovely review of Australia, Liz! I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed your visits and found the country just as beautiful as when you first experienced it. The opera house is definitely an iconic landmark and I'm glad you got to see it in all its glory. Thank you for recommending it to others! 😍

Sydney should not be number one. That title goes to the Great Barrier Reef, Ularu or Kakadu. You cheated by saying Tasmania one place. The state has many, many wonderful places to see, indeed South West National Park, Cradle Mountain, Freycinet Peninsula, Port Arthur and Hobart could all easily claim spots in their own right on this list and all of them are far more interesting than Sydney.

Well Brisbane in Queensland and Kangaroo Island in South Australia have just been named in the top 50 list of world’s greatest places. It’s always Sydney and it’s the worst and the people are rude and Melbourne is the same and that comes from Aussies born and bred.

Ikr.... people on Kangaroo Island are very nice, i know from experience, and Brisbane have some friendly folks.
But Melbourne and Sydney? No way 😂😂
Especially since lockdown times, everyone has become so bitter and stingy in these two cities.
You can't even ask someone for the time or directions anymore without them looking impatiently at you.
The North of Australia have the friendliest people...
And country NSW and country VIC.
Those are genuine people too 😊

Don't you love that Brisbane is basically a "flood plane"... that Tasmania is "desolate"... but has great places to eat and drink... 😅
