Because of Covid Restrictions I was alone on Christmas but my wonderful neighbor fixed me a plate of rolled turkey , mashed sweet potatoes, green beans, green salad, cranberry sauce, and pickles. Then she gave me a couple slices of tiramisu for dessert. It was so nice of her and the best part was... I didn't have to cook!!!
Just rewatching your holiday videos. I cry with you! Smells and taste are connected to me too! My one grandma always had a huge bowl of bread readied for baking awe the smell. My other grandmas house was always breakfast smells! Wood stove bacon, tators n onions, eggs, fresh bread n jam.. but the best was that pot of coffee always brewing! My grandpa was blind but he loved his pipe. I used to get his pouch so he could pack it, it was cherry blend and I always had to take one last smell before handing it off to him! I have always loved your holiday videos always great food but the most important message is Christ, family, food! ❤
Never put something away to protect it. The ones who you are saving it for won’t have that attachment to it, nor the memories. I can preach, but I do it too
I have the same food memory of my childhood. Tamales you steam them the next day you put them in the comal and the corn husk burns and the smell just brings back memories. it's amazing how you are making food memories for your family.
Gosh I was crying when you were talking about your Grammy. My grandma passed 2 years ago on Christmas Eve. Food and scents definitely remind me of childhood memories. ❤
I have always wanted to make a recipe book for my kids and you being able to add a video it's just the most amazing thing ever what a blessing❤ I have lost my mom has pasted from breast cancer and not to bring up anything bad but just think when you leave this world your children will have so many videos what a blessing !!! If i could watch videos of my mother at her best like this i would be in heaven anyway great gift idea❤❤
Merry Christmas! I can totally related with the food/smell ties to memories. I would give anything to walk into my grandmother’s house on a Sunday after church. Oh the smell!❤️
I love the cookbook gift. My mother made me a family cookbook the Christmas before she past away at 54. I appreciate it now more than ever, to show my now adult girls and their children. The notes she wrote to tell me where each recipe originated from and for what occasion they were made is priceless. Your daughter will cherish it forever. Thank you for sharing your family's Christmas time with us.
Merry Christmas Unfortunately I am 50 yrs old and got hit with covid 2 days before Thanksgiving. So I missed my favorite holiday that I host every year. Then I lost use of both legs, incontinence, moved up to my neck that has stenosis and now 3 bulging disc. I was taken to a larger hospital where i suffered a soft stroke and bal palsy. I am now in a nursing rehab home waiting for march to come to go thru surgery. I have 2 kids that I havnt been able to hug for 5 weeks now. They brought some gifts and stood outside my window. As they left I lost it. Whoa is me... But I felt the hand of God around me saying...its just a day. You're still here. I will never forsake you. I love you I held close to those words. I watched all my favorite bloggers and felt like I was with you all. Thank you for that. Merry Christmas
One sweet memory of Christmas this year....I was at the Post Office in a Hallmark store a week before and there was a long line. Everyone was in a happy mood and there were several people there with infants who were ushered to the front of the line, one by customers in line and the other by a Hallmark store employee, and everyone was okay with that. No one complained that there was only one postal worker. It was the highlight of my day instead of being a yucky errand.
Merry Christmas Hughes Family!!! I think the recipe book is a fantastic idea for Kallie & Felix! I know what you mean about food has memories!!! It so great that we can remember our loved ones in so many ways! I miss my Nana & her cooking!! Those shells look fabulous!!! I miss your mom & you getting together and all the laughs!!! Have a blessed day!!! 😊🎉🎄❤️✝️🙏🏼
Love your videos. Especially the holiday vids. And that cookbook you put together for your daughter was amazing! You are sooooo creative. Now, for Christmas Eve, I honestly can't remember what we had for dinner. I think it might have been one of those "fend for yourself" evenings. We were busy all day prepping for the Christmas Dinner. I am the oldest of six children, but of course we couldn't all be together. But we did all talk. Luckily, my sister and I both moved back in with our Dad when Mom passed away 9 yrs. ago. He's 87 and we feel blessed to be here to take care of him . All of us still make the big Christmas dinner that Mom always did. Roast turkey, my brown sugar ham, mashed potatoes and homemade gravy, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, chicken and noodles, deviled eggs (my 43 yr old son insists on calling them Angel eggs) lol. We also had rolls with butter, dressing and we also had the sparkling Welsh's juices in different flavors. We love that stuff. Oh and we also had cranberry sauce. For dessert we had pumpkin pie and chocolate pie. We exchanged gifts after our dinner and when our guests left we sat back, tried to move after all of that food and said a prayer to thank God for all of his blessings upon us. It was a WONDERFUL day! Looks like yours was too. God Bless you and your family. And Happy New Year!!
Merry Christmas.💕 Here in Australia we have roast pork, roast lamb, Turkey, ham, baked potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, peas and carrots with lots of different sauces and gravies. Plum pudding and custard for dessert. We have bonbons with paper hats and jokes inside them and we all laugh and have a great time. Happy new year, keep safe and well. Xx vicki from Australia 🇦🇺
Merry Christmas! Yes I agree Foote can be a big trigger of memories. My mom’s mother had been gone a little over 20yrs. My sister in law made some cookies. I tasted one of the cookies and I was transported to my grandmother’s kitchen. That was a fun and rough Christmas Eve. For Christmas Eve my family had a ham dinner. For Christmas we had Mac and cheese. My favorite part was spending time with my family.I was exhausted. Happy new year.
On Christmas eve I made ham sliders on Hawaiian rolls, they were SO yummy! Christmas day was very relaxed, and small, only those who live in our home, but we had a wonderful time! I made sure we had a big 'ol dinner despite it only being the four of us. My three older kids couldn't come this year, that was a bummer. We had a crockpot brown sugar and pineapple ham, I kept the hambone for future split pea and ham soup. Candied yams, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, cut-up veggies and dips, apple and pumpkin pies!
Cut onions on a wooden cutting board... my favorite childhood scent memory from my grandma's house. I get teary eyed too whenever I smell that! As for Xmas Eve dinner I made Cornish hens and Ham for Xmas. All very good!
Kim, your daughter will have a lifetime of enjoyment from the cookbook you made her! I did the same for my son for his college graduation. We’d asked him what he most wanted for graduation and being the practical boy that he is-he asked for new tires for his truck-which we got for him but I wanted to give him something special that he would always have. I asked family members and church friends, former teachers (kindergarten through high school) all who had a hand in shaping the wonderful young man that he had become, for recipes-which they happily gave. It made a wonderful gift for him. Our family sat with him as he turned each page the night before his graduation. His face told me I’d given him something he would cherish. And now 15 years later, our family had our Christmas celebration in his home with his sweet family. It has been a wonderful, blessed Christmas. I’m happy your family had a great one too!
If you fry the meatballs in a pan for about 5 or 10 mins before adding them to the sauce it takes them to another level! I’m so happy you’re giving us 35 mins of She’s in her Apron! I love your videos because they center me when my anxiety is taking hold. Happy and Merry to you and your amazing family!
Yes! Recipes = memories!! For Christmas Eve we had chicken Alfredo and for Christmas we had our traditional ham dinner. We order in Vernors for the ham, anything else would not have it turn out right. Merry Christmas Kimmy and family!
Merry Christmas! I lost my mom this year and I would have loved a cookbook from her. I am crying watching your video. You are such a wonderful mother. Your family is blessed to have you in their lives. God bless! I would buy a book if you ever published one.
Easy way to get any adhesive or sticky mess off of something (like your dishwasher) take a paper towel and some cooking or coconut oil. It should rub right off. Then clean the area with your favorite spray cleaner. For Christmas it was just my husband and I and our dog. All the rest of our family lives back East. It hasn't really been the same since my dad passed a few years ago. This time of year I really miss him. Since you asked, I made monkey bread with Rhodes rolls for Christmas morning and a beef roast in the crock pot and mashed potatoes for Christmas dinner and a chocolate pie for dessert. BTW so grateful for crockpot bags (I only discovered them this year!) Also- that cookbook is fab- you should totally market them. Id buy it!
Kimmy- I cried with you about your grandmothers grater and the Parmesan cheese memory. I’ve been really missing my Hungarian grandparents and great aunts over the holidays this year. My nenis...that’s aunt in Hungarian...were wonderful cooks and the smells of big pots of soups and stews simmering in the kitchen reminds me of them. I miss them all so much. The recipe binder for kally is amazing. So very special. I love that you keep the memories of your loved ones alive with cooking and traditions. Love to you and your family!!
Merry Christmas. We had stuffed shells for Christmas Eve and then Prime Rib for Christmas Day ... but since it was just 3 of us it wasn't very difficult. Tomorrow (Monday) we have the leftover Prime Rib for dinner ... need to make something to take to my mom and dad's for New Years Day and then we will have a Pork Roast with Mashed potatoes and Sauerkraut the day after before we have to pack up on Sunday and get home ... I figure they will have left overs for the next few days and dad won't have to work too hard to get food on the table
I can't belive im crying with you!! We didn't get to spend Christmas with our children or grandchildren... because of covid... but we did video call!! I made some thumbprint cookies with one of my grandsons the week before and cried doing so... my grandma used to make them every year with us.. food is such a big part of memories.. smells and tastes. God bless you and thank you for the tears
Loved this video! All the Christmas joys. 🎅 I, too, am of Italian heritage and make Pizzelles every year for my goodie trays. We went to my SILs for Christmas Eve and had smoked brisket, ham and turkey. I made a huge pan of baked mac and cheese. I have the last of the Christmas serving dishes soaking in my sink as I type this. It was a wonderful Christmas despite the sad year we have had. Thanks for sharing your day with us! 😊
On Christmas Eve we had lasagna with salad and garlic bread. On Christmas Day we had roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato casserole, broccoli casserole, cheese pudding (my grandmothers secret recipe!), onion pudding, corn pudding, stuffing, deviled eggs, cranberry relish, relish tray, and rolls. For desert we had homemade cookies and fudge. There are just 5 of use but we love the leftovers! Loved your memories of your grand mother. I have such sweet memories of my mother and grandmother….brings me to tears every time.
Merry Christmas to you and your family and wishes for a wonderful new year. Because I am of Polish decent we have always done a meatless meal (a Polish tradition). It is an odd course meal consisting of soup, herring, our main course is pierogi's, fish (fried flounder), potatoes, vegetables, then dessert which always consists of my homemade chruscki (some people know them as fried bow ties) covered with powder sugar, homemade cookies, and fruit. I do make Pizzells for my Italian son-in-law who graciously goes along with our family Christmas Eve tradition. This year was a smaller get together for Christmas Eve, my daughter and her family along with my husband and myself. Missed being with my son and his family. Hoping we'll be together next year to celebrate together.
We get Chinese take out on Christmas eve and then Christmas Dinner in my house is a huge roast dinner we had turkey, sausages, roast potatoes, mash potatoes, sweet potatoes, parsnips, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, cabbage, sprouts, sweetcorn, peas, stuffing and Yorkshire puddings We do loads of different things so everyone gets their favourite roast dinner bits for Christmas day The leftovers normally last a few days 🤣😋
Merry Christmas Kimmy and the whole family 😍I enjoyed all your videos and learn a lot from your cooking, freezer meal, cleaning, organizing tips and especially how your family being together as family. I love it... I miss United States, lived there for 15 years, always bring smiles and happiness to me watching your videos... Greetings from Indonesia 🙏
Merry Christmas!! Our typical Christmas Eve dinner is Pierogi. As a Polish Family I grew up always having them on Christmas Eve before going to our families house. This year we stayed home for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so I cooked both meals. For Christmas Day we had ham. We typically have an Italian dish when we have Christmas dinner with Dan's Family which usually consists of either stuffed shells, lasagna or manicotti. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and have a Happy New Year too!
Kimmy I’m missing my family as well For sure just not the same as when we are all together, also smells remind me of my mom so much!!! You are the best mom and cook🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Merry Christmas!! For Christmas eve we had marinated skit steaks, salad and pie. Christmas day we had a roasted pork loin, salad, baked potatoes, applesauce, cranberry salad. Dessert was lemon meringue and triple berry pies. The Christmas dinner was served at 1pm. At 6:30 pm...we ordered Chinese!! We had never done that before. It was just crazy!! The best part was that we were together as much as we could be. Lots of food and we ate it all up.
Morning Kimmy! What a fabulous video! I absolutely LOVE the gift you made for Kally. What a great idea. All of the food looked so delicious, good job ☺️. Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year🎉!!!! ⛪️🎄🕊
Loved every min of the Christmas special! Thank you for bringing laugher, joy and learning into my home this crazy 2020 year!! Looking forward to all you will be doing in 2021! Hugs! ❤️🎄🥰♥️🎅🏻
I enjoyed this video because it brought back very special memories. When my granddaughter was a baby I made holiday meals early by a few days because she had to visit the other side of her family. It was the smells of the meals that I remembered from my childhood that I wanted etched in her memory forever. People came to share the meals with us even though they would have nearly the same meal days later. I am glad that I did that for my granddaughter.
We had ham, turkey, stuffing, Mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, green bean casserole and for dessert Dutch apple pie and the kids had chocolate pie. My favorite part about Christmas was seeing my kids so happy, that always puts a smile on my face! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas ❤️
Lol .....I’m correcting you as you talking😂😂😂😂 ...SAUCE SAUCE....loving said.My ex- mother in law in PA.called it gravy. Yes hot sausage, that what I use.Cento tomatoes are good. I’ll have to look for the other.MerryChristmas to your family. What a wonderful present for your daughter & son in law. You work so hard to make every holidays so beautiful. Happy New Year🥳🎉 When your 40 yr.old son thanks you for all the Christmas memories you know you did ok🎄😌 Even though I live in CT.,I LOVE when you talk about your Mass. family and places you’ve been to when visited.
I'm from New York and love my locatelli romano cheese. I use Tuttoroso crushed tomatoes and contadina paste. I've tried Cento but the kids and grandkids tasted the difference. I think it's what we get use to eating and keep the memory of that taste. I call it sauce and macaroni but find myself saying pasta more. Use to fry my meat but cook t in the oven now, less mess. I keep my recipes in clear pages in loose leafs, but one big one says Holidays, it has all the family favorites. Merry Christmas to your family.
My husband cooked a brisket and I made homemade au gratin potatoes and broccoli with cheese for our Christmas Eve dinner. I love the cookbook idea! If you do publish it, I'll definitely be in line for one. I made Christmas cookies with my granddaughter a few weeks ago and it made me cry. It was one of the best memories I had as a child; making cookies with my mom, grandma, and aunt. Also the smell of freshly baked bread reminds me of sitting at our table watching my grandma make bread and rolls. Even now the thought makes me tear up. I'm so glad you have those type of memories too. And i'm sure your kids will have the same type of memories when they are grown with kids of their own too. Merry Christmas Kimmie, Deric, and family!
So true, you made me cry. Hope and pray soon families can reunite like before. Great gift for Callie. Hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas. Blessings❣️
I hope you had the merriest of Christmases. I just adore those precious little Grand fur babies. We have the normal turkey stuffing taters and gravy and I don't know if we even got around to a vegetable LOL. My homemade cheese ball is always a must. I've only been calling night before weeks now but I was life-flighted on life support induced coma for a week and in hospital for a week. I can barely work my brain didn't hardly work so by the grace of God I lived and I'm just trying to take it a day at a time that's why we didn't really have a full blown out Christmas dinner. My favorite part was just having all my kids there my grandbaby and being alive. Blessings and much love
We had ham that I cooked in the crockpot, macaroni and cheese, green beans and rolls. a very simple dinner this year which turned out to be best because we woke up Christmas morning to an empty propane tank (that heats our house and powers our oven/stove, and hot water heater LOL) so we had to wait for a delivery for that - thankfully it only took a couple of hours. We zoomed with my mother-in-law and video chatted with our oldest daughter and her fiance. It was a lovely day. The day after Xmas is my birthday so that was another wonderfully lazy and relaxing day filled with love and playing games with my husband and kids. You made me cry when you started to cry about the memory of your grandma. Our olfactory senses are the strongest sense tied to memory and I find that so fascinating and, like you said, beautiful. I have moments like that often, but one time it happened in the middle of Target. I smelled a candle and had such a strong memory of my grandfather that I started to cry hard right there on the candle aisle LOL - but I knew I had to buy it and bring it home. Thank you for sharing and Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Merry Christmas Hughes family! I’m so glad you all enjoyed and had a wonderful and safe holiday. This was the first year I didn’t spend it with my family due to the virus but I did spend it with the love of my life and we thoroughly enjoyed spending the whole day together with a breakfast casserole and a turkey breast with roasted potatoes, gravy and green beans. I could not have asked to have a better holiday and I’m so excited for many more! Have a good and safe new year Hughes family! Stay safe and healthy!
Merry Christmas to you and yours!! What a wonderful gift for your daughter, a gift to be treasured! May you all be blessed and kept safe during these times. Lots of love sent your way❤💕💕❤
We had our family dinner outside in our carport here in CA..son smoked a huge turkey. Had garlic mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry orange sauce, garlic almond green beans, cherry and pumpkin pies. Lots of fun.
Funny, I work at a group home for juvenile delinquents, dietary coordinator. Me & some of the boys made stuffed shells also. I got a text from one of my coworkers, stated that the kids & guys loved the stuffed shells. That was their Christmas Eve dinner. Got home that afternoon & made Pizza Casserole for Christmas Eve Dinner
What a wonderful gift for your daughter! Christmas Eve we had Mississippi Chicken, White Rice, and Green Beans with New Potatoes. Christmas dinner was Zuppa Tuscana soup and Chili, we had all the goodies for topping chili and a big salad. Keeping it simple!
Gravy was always Sunday Gravy with meatballs and braciole. Sauce is what we would make during the week for a quick meal! Merry Christmas Kimmie and Family! ❤️ Mickey xoxo
I made the cranberry salsa and shrimp dip! Everyone loved them both🙌. Needless to say they both will be on the table from here on out! Thank you so much! Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
My husbands family on his moms side are all Italians and they call it red gravy. His Papa owned an Italian market in our hometown and made their own sausage that is the best! Thankfully my husband has the recipe and we can make it ourselves. Christmas Eve is with my husbands family and we have ravioli with red sauce, ham, bread and various sides. Christmas Day is with my family and we make beef roulades with onion & mushrooms in a fabulous wine gravy and various sides. Happy New Years!
Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 ... Christmas this year was with my family we had turkey , stuffing and green bean casserole 🥘.. I didn’t see my folks they are in Arizona for the winter staying safe ... let’s pray next year will be better and family can come together
When you showed the cookbook, I said awwww. That's the sweetest thing I've seen in awhile. Then you got sentimental on me about your grandma,my eyes got a little misty. Not going to lie. You and hubby are adorable. Continued blessings to you and yours.
We had ham, turkey , green bean casserole, rice dressing , stuffing, rolls, deviled eggs, macaroni, potato salad, Baked beans, fudge, divinity, pie, and Mississippi mud cake. Christmas Eve was with my husband’s side and Christmas Day was with mine. And we popped fireworks both nights. And yes. I’m missing my family too. My mom passed away 6 yes ago and this was her fav time of year.
On Christmas eve we had cheese fondue (my husband is Swiss). I had to work a day shift in the hospital (obstetrics nurse) on christmas day and after that I had dinner with my husband and two kids, since we are in a strict lockdown in the Netherlands. For dinner we had "pasteitje" (puff pastry with a mushroom/meat sauce) and after that red cabbage, turkey roulade and rösti from the oven. For dessert my 13 year old daughter made a christmas cheesecake which was really pretty. I missed being together with my family, but we know in the new year things will be better. Loved loved LOVED your idea for a recipe binder, planning on doing that for my kids once they move out of our house. Thanks for the idea Kimmy! Hope you and your family will have a very good and healthy new year. Greatings from the Netherlands.
It would be lovely if you made a cookbook Kimmy love the ideas and your food looks yummy, would definitely buy your book. love it good to hear you guys had a wonderful Christmas it must be hard with everything going on there as it is in the UK. just had a small bubble us plus my son and my grandkids. Christmas eve just snacked. then pork and turkey roast for Christmas dinner with all the trimmings. take care guys stay safe God bless you and your family. xxx
Christmas eve we had Churrasco, moros y cristianos and tostones. My half of the fam is Cuban. Christmas days was stuffed shells, only difference is we add spinach to our ricotta mixture. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas 🌲
Merry Christmas! Love the cookbook idea! We had salmon and a plethora of other goodies. My family is Polish so we eat only fish on Christmas Eve. Christmas day I made brats, sauerkraut, and homemade spaetzle (my hubby is German). Also our 15 year old got a Comfy for Christmas and has pretty much been living in it. 😂 She did take it off to go to church though. LOL
My nephew was able to come home he joined the army last year. We haven't seen him in almost a year. Love the gift to Kelly so special. I have recipes of my great grandma.
I am so happy for you as soon as you started showing your daughter's gift I instantly was thinking umm could that be a "She's in Her Apron product"!! I just recently watched your last years New Year's goals/word of the year video from last year AGAIN and in that video you were so excited to make a website and products for "She's in her Apron" like your aprons so I am happy to see that you are still working on products because I will DEFINATLY support and buy a apron or a recipe book from you. You work so hard and are so relatable I just love your videos! Like I told you before you have inspired me to start my own channel and just be myself so again thank you for that and Good Luck in all your future products! You deserve success in it!!
I love the cook book, what a special gift, I have a few old recipe cards that were my grandmother and my mom, I miss her so much at Christmas this is 14 years with out her. Thank you for the video I love seeing your family celebration and the great food that you made. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family
A late Merry Christmas to you and your family. It was a lovely Christmas for you getting to spend time with Kalie and crew. We had take out Christmas Eve dinner. Broaster chicken, mashed potatoes and homemade coleslaw (we're pretty particular about that one). It was great. I was able to finish up a pie crust, have it ready and sugar my cranberries for a cranberry orange cake recipe I was trying. I made them both on Christmas so they'd be at their maximum freshness. We had my just my family who live in my house, plus my forever bestie. We share every milestone, holiday and anything happening with here. Her boys never call or make plans with. I could go on and on about that but I won't. We had prime rib which my bf bought. She also put 2 more in my freezer 😁🤗😇 We also had naughty potatoes, we don't have them often, hence the word naughty. Green beans was our veggie and of course rolls. It was yummy. My son is a super good cook. I taught him well. My daughter bought me the latest Samsung phone, plus a bunch of other things. She totally went overboard. My son bought me a 10 in tablet. I've never owned one, I've just always just used my phone. I haven't seen my middle child. She works at the casino and I can't be exposed to her because she's in contact with like 1000 people a day. Here's to a better year. 🎉 Happy 2021 🎉
In Australia Eve is not a big deal normally. It's summer here. Lunch on Christmas day and into evening are the main meals.... seafood if you are near the coast. Roast dinners with trimmings if the day is cooler., and outdoor bbq is now a thing. We had a big family lunch... roast beef, and lamb cooked outside on the rotisserie bbq and baked ham and chicken. Lovely salads and jacket potatoes. Pavlova dessert with berries and nango and passionfruits.
Merry Christmas to you all Kimmy, wow , th recipe book is such a thoughtful gift 📖 its definitely gravy ! Not sauce lol 😂 😆 oh my gosh the nativity always brings a tear to my eye hope you all had a wonderful time god bless 💞
Merry Christmas, Kimmie and family. We spent Christmas eve with my oldest's girlfriend and family. We had a soup station with homemade tomato, chicken noodle & clam chowder along with coconut shrimp and homemade bread bowls. Christmas day was spent at home with our six. My Grandpa's cinnamon rolls with bacon and eggs were had for breakfast and we grazed leftovers throughout the day. It was a wonderful holiday!
I enjoy every single video of yours. I am working on the same gift as you for your daughter. We ate to much food but it was soo delicious. We ate Mexican pork, green spaguetti and a salad with strawberry ans mandarin oranges, bread fill with cream cheese and a jello pretzel for dessert.
Such a great gift for your daughter. Having Family recipes is such a blessing and Family Heirloom. Yes, Jersey girl here, absolutely, Gravy🤣 Merry Christmas
Hi Kimmy and All! On Christmas Eve we always have a crab leg feast at my in-laws. My husband orders the crab from a friend who works for a seafood supplier. This year the truck the order was on got stuck about 5 hours away the day before the day before. My 17 year old was so sad saying, this will be the first time in my life I haven’t had crab legs on Cmas Eve. I scrambled around calling different markets and finally found one with as much as we needed! Christmas Eve was saved! Thank you for sharing with us and many blessings for your 2021!
Merry Christmas! What a lovely Christmas you had with your family❤ I had a very strong feeling you were making a recipe book for Kally! She will treasure that forever❤❤❤ Thank you for sharing your life with us, you bring so much love, kindness, and positivity into the world❤❤❤
I was able to spend time with my family that I’m always around, it wasn’t as big of a celebration that we normally have because of covid but it was still wonderful! I gave more gifts out this year to family and I loved seeing their reactions! We had ham, deep fried turkey and some of the yummy sides! My grandma in law even made some homemade cheesecake and it was yummy! I really enjoyed watching this video and seeing your family have a good time! Have a safe New Year, Kimmy!
Shedding a tear or two with you. We made the most of a bad situation with phone calls & facetime. My adult kids tried to recreate my traditional dishes. It was fun to know that. Hope your day was happy!
I love the recipe book you made!! We had a quiet Christmas at home, just me and my husband. It was a strange Christmas here in Massachusetts...it was 60 degrees and it rained all day! Christmas Eve I made scallops (we normally have our traditional Polish dinner at my parent's house on Christmas Eve) and on Christmas I made a ham, sweet potatoes and peas...simple but delicious!
I decided to make your lemon Italian Christmas Cookies this year. Everyone loved them. I wound up making an extra half batch because I started running out before Christmas day. I did a lot of the round ones, but also did a several different ribbon types. I think these will become a new staple for my holidays here in Texas. Thank you for sharing your recipes with us.
Foods and smells do bring back memories. I don’t use a hand grater after years if hacking up my fingers and huckleberry I bought a KitchenAide Food Processor and it grates cheese in seconds, the only way to do it. I made Stuffed Cheese Shells for my Christmas dinner, so good.. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to and your family. My family calls it gravy too. We had gravy with raviolis on Christmas Eve. I grew up in Chicago. Percorino Romano is the best. My grandchildren will put some grated cheese in a bowl and eat it with a spoon. I can smell and taste your gravy thru youtube. 😊
Merry Christmas! The cookbook idea is amazing!!! If you ever publish one I would totally buy it! I watch and cook from your videos all the time!
I would buy your cookbook too if you published one. :)
I would also buy it because you have so many great recipes and some I have never seen before
Yes! So would I! Thank you!
C'mon Kimmy!! We needs da cookbook!!! 💖💖💖🤗🤗🤗🙏🙏🙏
Yes!! I want one! 🙋🏻♀️
Aww that is so sweet!!!!
You have a blessed neighbour who looked out for you.❤️
That was so sweet of them!
@@dionnefrancis-brown1533 I sure do.. we look out for each other as we are both single seniors.
That is such a thoughtful Christmas gift for your daughter. It is a treasure that will last a lifetime.
Oh the cooking looks so good yum
You made me cry. Thanks for talking about memories and family.
Never put something away to protect it. The ones who you are saving it for won’t have that attachment to it, nor the memories. I can preach, but I do it too
Merry Christmas! That is the sweetest gift ! I cried. What a wonderful mother you are
My Grandma used pecorino cheese and I love that cheese. It does remind me of my childhood and I am 82 yrs old and come from an Italian household.
@ Tammy Thomason
So sorry to hear about your grandmother. Praying for you to have many sweet memories of her. ❤️🙏🏻
Me too i started crying watching this and the memory 😭
Oh my gosh you’re so sweet. Grandmas are so wonderful. The memories. The food. That’s the good stuff in life. So happy to have found your page!
Brought tears to my eyes. In a sweet way. Precious family times.
I'm here in September 2021 and still love listening to the memories you have of your grandma ❤️
You are such a thoughtful mamma! What a treasure your daughter will have for many, many years! Knowing it was done by you just for her, so special!
Merry Christmas! I can totally related with the food/smell ties to memories. I would give anything to walk into my grandmother’s house on a Sunday after church. Oh the smell!❤️
Now I’m crying! Thank you for this! Memories are wonderful and we are blessed to have them!!!!!
Merry Christmas
Unfortunately I am 50 yrs old and got hit with covid 2 days before Thanksgiving.
I love you
I held close to those words. I watched all my favorite bloggers and felt like I was with you all. Thank you for that.
Merry Christmas
I am so sorry you have to go through all this!!
I totally agree with you on how food brings up amazing memories. My daddy has passed since 2010, and he was a wonderful cook.
Thank you. I’m so sorry for your loss. 🙏
Thank you so much! My first time seeing a Christmas celebration. You are awesome Mr Toodles and Kimmy
Even though this video is a year old, your videos never get old!! Thank You so much❤🎄
Thank you Linda!
We get Chinese take out on Christmas eve and then Christmas Dinner in my house is a huge roast dinner we had turkey, sausages, roast potatoes, mash potatoes, sweet potatoes, parsnips, green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, cabbage, sprouts, sweetcorn, peas, stuffing and Yorkshire puddings
We do loads of different things so everyone gets their favourite roast dinner bits for Christmas day
The leftovers normally last a few days 🤣😋
Kimmy I’m missing my family as well
For sure just not the same as when we are all together, also smells remind me of my mom so much!!!
Awesome video, thanks for sharing your Christmas traditions with us,and all the yummy recipes.
Merry Christmas
We had pulled pork sliders, hawian bread ham & cheese sliders, smoked a turkey, Hasbrown casserole, broccoli 🥦 salad, rotel dip, Buffalo chicken dip, cheese balls and crackers, German Chocolate cake, cheese cake, fudge, buckeyes, bourbon balls, butterscotch Haystacks. Wonderful Christmas with my family!! Merry Christmas from Kentucky!! 🎄🎁🧑🎄😘⛄🎅☃️🎄
Hi Kimmy, been watching your holiday videos these past weeks, so comforting. Thanks for sharing.
So true, you made me cry. Hope and pray soon families can reunite like before. Great gift for Callie. Hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas. Blessings❣️
Merry Christmas! I never thought I'd get choked up over cheese before. I love how our memories come flooding back with the simplest of things!
Ok but, can I have that cookbook too??? Holy cow that’s an amazing Christmas gift!!! Wow!!!
I am glad you are thinking about a cookbook. I can't wait until it comes out!!
Merry Christmas Hughes family have a wonderful new year as well. God bless your family!
Lots of love sent your way❤💕💕❤
Merry Christmas. I absolutely feel you on this year. Love to you and yours ❤️☃️
That’s wonderful!
Pizza casserole sounds yummy.......recipe share requested! :-D
Hi from Colorado. I just about cried when you were talking about food memories. I think that Christmastime makes us all nostalgic. God bless.
Merry Christmas 🎄 I loved the cookbook, so special for your daughter! You have a lovely family.
Gravy was always Sunday Gravy with meatballs and braciole. Sauce is what we would make during the week for a quick meal! Merry Christmas Kimmie and Family! ❤️ Mickey xoxo
Yes I'm missing my moms holiday cooking she passed August 1st this year. Christmas brings out the emotions for sure!
Thank you Nancy
Merry Christmas from New Zealand. It's so cool too see what others do at Christmas in other parts of the world.
LOL
Merry CHRISTmas Kimmy and fam!!! Love the cookbook, but love watching your family have fun, and work together more!!
