I need opinion from you guys, about my DJI Mini 3; I tried to fly inside my office and the drone by itself flew into window and crashed. Then I flew it at the outside and it work quite normal then when I tried to take off again at the same place, inside my office, it did same thing but this time it was facing opposite way and still headed same way and crashed like so close to the first impact place. The propellers and the orange things got damage little bit, a few very thin pieces were cut from the edges. Now, I tried inside my home, with the RTH off and it flew great. Do I need to change the propellers? I'm guessing it was because of the RTH setting, when there were no signal, it tried to get out but I still wanted to get you guys opinion.
Thanks for the information. I want to use my mini pro 3 in our church building to see areas that are too high to see from the floor like in the chapel and in the gymnasium.
Nice tips. Hadn't thought about the wide angle lens. One recommendation I would make to add a little more punch to your video would be to overcut some actual indoor flying footage that you shot into various places in the video, sort of like you did during the demonstration of the downward sensors over the island. If you had added a comparison shot of the normal lens view vs the wide angle lens view of the same room for example, it would give the video and your tips that much more impact.
the obstacle avoidance sensor on the bottom IS off, it’s the visual positioning sensor that is on, this sensor is crucial because it keeps the drone in its place but it also has plays a role in landing, which is why it moves up when near a surface.
@@destinygodley no problem. I did a video a couple years back with tips for flying indoors and example footage with the Mavic 2 Zoom. A lot of the tips still relate to newer drones today.
thank you. i don't think i showed the install of this video (sorry for the late reply I just saw this comment). the wide angle lens replaces the stock lens and twists on and off.
Well done! I will be learning to fly my drone in my garage and the information you gave will help! The extremes of summer and winter makes the drone education interesting! Thanks!
Sport Mode supposedly disables all sensors (no 1st hand experience) & Cover bottom sensors I heard 1000's of time from Mini 2 (again no 1st hand experience).
Mini did not want to fly as it says: GPS signal lost etc. and then you can't control it anymore. Inside a building, was'nt able to vertically get higher than 3 meters... also as the signal (GPS) was bad inside. Don't you have this same problem?
I do because one time I when I first started droning I was flying through my parents house while standing by the pool in the backyard and it lost signal and did a RTH and hit the ceiling 🤣
Same thing happened to me. I was recording inside a house and all of a sudden it shot up straight to the ceiling. It can suddenly pick up signal and then lose it and go into RTH. It's happended with different types of drones, It's susceptible to interferences even from Wi-Fi in the house for building so turn that off as well. Always use prop guards

Love your work. Thank you. By part number or manufacturer, which wide angle lens do you suggest for a DJI mini 3 pro? Seems to be too many choices and most of your audience wants to do the right thing. Thanks in advance.
Awesome video and pro tips. Shame the downward sensors can't be turned off so one must avoid / anticipate any inclinations / climb. Obstacle sensors are automatically disabled when prop guards are attached.
thank you! and in the comments someone said you can use tape to cover the bottom sensor and that is a hack to turn it off. I haven’t tried it but I want to in the future.
One question! How well does the drone perform in still photo indoor? Do you use these pictures for your clients? Are they a goo option or should I rather use a stand alone camera for this? Thank you and great vid)
hey man just saw your comment. in general the indoor photos are not very good but I have taken a couple unique shots like top down from the second story to show the living room or staircase. I always use auto bracketing and HDR merge in Lightroom and usually reduce the yellow about 50%
for the wide angle lens you can attach an ND filter. Only for the anamorphic lens will it let you stack them. I remember seeing another video where the guy a set of wide angle lenses with ND filters built in. hope this helps!
hi, two things about your vid, first you do not change to cine mode through the gain and expo settings. they are to set how the drone reacts to the control sticks in the three different speed modes, you change to cine mode through the button slider between the control sticks. second, because the wide angle lens is heavy especially with a added nd filter, its best to add the actual nd filter once the drone is switched on and done its pre-flight start up otherwise the camera is to heavy for the gimble start up and you will get a gimble error
what weight does the wide-angle & ND Filter add to the drone... I know 250 grams doesn't apply indoors.... but if I was to go wide outdoors on a sunny day I'd need them both... do you know the total weight of the drone after you put the Wide-angle and the ND filter on.??
I don’t have a scale but I remember watching a video when the drone first came out and it weighed less than 249g. the filters are not very heavy but I am not good at estimating weight.
Hey Adam how is the stability indoors with the mini drones? As long as I have been flying I have actually never flown my birds inside. Now I have a gig where I need to. I don't currently have the prop guards so I am hoping the stability is good enough that I can get away with it. I will be up high looking down at some concrete forms and sections. I am hoping I can handle any drift it might have.
Excellent Video! My Mini Pro 3 came in today and I’m REALLY looking forward to utilizing this beast! About to pick up a *WideAngle lens. Thanks for the tips! #RobbArmstrong

Pro Tip: do some research before you ask others to figure it out for you. Everyone, even the some armature drone flyers know if you want to turn off the bottom sensor there is a very special tool to accomplish this. It's called black electrical tape. Ask you mom, I am sure she has some, it looks like her house.
Dji should have an indoor setting for these minis
right?! that would be very helpful.

nice that would be cool. I hope you get to try it and good luck!
I think if it's in sport mode the bottom sensor will ignore the island or sny other object..You just have to be really steady with the flight

Hi, there is on RTH function becausr of no GPS when fly indoor , so do you really need to switch to " hover" from "RTH" for losing connection?
