Cool video, it what I was looking to do. I noticed the brackets you used for your lumber storage in your shop, is that a closet organizer with the shelving brackets? Again, was thinking along something like this as well. Let me know. Thanks again
I halve a shelf already on my balcony and I want to build on it with one extra side to fully have a box but I don't know how to do it...this is very similar to what I need..
I live on a second floor balcony apartment. I would drill 1/4” holes in the bottom. And if your worried about soil falling through, take some window screen material and glue it over the holes
I am doing something like this in Cleveland Ohio. How’s the wood holding up? I was going to buy pressure treated wood, or was going to finish the wood I do buy with some sort of weather proof finish. Thoughts?
Still doing well. You’ll get more life out of PT wood but it’s terrible for whatever you put in there. Leeches nasty pesticides the entire time into the plants / flowers.
Hand saw, hammer and nails do the same thing. Local hardware store will even make all the cuts for you if you have the dimensions. ClAmps help greatly, but not necessary
This is exactly what I was looking for for my apartment. Thanks man!
Same!
Nice job!! easy to build.
Nice shop! Thanks for sharing, I'll give it a shot too.
Love this video! Thank you so much for making this. This is exactly what I want to build for my railing!
Glad it helped you out! Thanks for watching. 👍
Great job! Thanks for sharing!
Amazing!!!!!!! Love it! you can also grow lettuce, herbs, collards, kale, and other greens or veggies. I want to make one
Easy peesy and a good cheap product that looks good, nice to see the boards under the jeeps wheels as well .
make sure you choose wood that doesn't warp or split: ash, cedar etc....that takes moisture well even if you will use a lining
Very cool
Love it.

Any ideas for drainage for balconies in apartment buildings?

@@Archifx oh wow I didn’t think about that. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll be lining the entire thing, but still don’t want to take any chances.

Hi will the brackets hold the weight that is going to be heavy
Been up for a month or so. No issues
@@Archifx love to see updates!
what about drainage?
Drilled about 8 holes staggered in the bottom.
Interesting…
Did it bulge at the middle? Did it rot after a year?
Rotted this year. Didn’t bulge in the middle. Biggest issues were the small nails. Should have used screws
There’s room for improvement, looking forward for the new 2024 design 💪🏽
I’ll stay tuned
@benjaminsaravia yeah. It’s on my list of projects for sure
How did it hold up after 4 years?
It’s still there. With plants in it. Needs to be repainted but good
Build a planter box for under $25, as long as you already have 2 grand in wood working tools.
Hahah. I know man. But seriously you could do it with a hand saw and a hammer and nails. Just will take a little longer
Do you expect to only need wood and NO tools to build 😂
Nails and a hammer. Use your teeth to cut the wood. Or a high quality woodchuck.
Day 2 of commenting until Fix it Now gives an affiliate link for those brackets

It is too castier than my house
cheap if you have all of those tools... misleading :S
