Hello there. With the weight of the soil and plants, where I live, it was able to just sit there. An alternative option is to use 1” stainless steel corner brackets like these (www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-in-Stainless-Steel-Corner-Brace-4-Pack-13541/202950156). The stainless steel doesn’t rust. You could also spray paint them to match your railing.
Ashley-Anna Sledge no worries Ashley! I drilled my holes approximately every 8-10”. In the end, your looking to make sure you have nice tight seems. Additional screws won’t hurt. Best of luck!
My Diamond Life so far, fairly well. I added some stain to it to help keep the wood in good shape. I also added soil that retains water better. I may do several of these and stack them verically
@@saburezeq5530 Thank you for the heads up. The planters are being used to grow lavender to help reduce flies in the area. We have a separate planter for veggies made from cedar.
Hello sir, the picket fence I have in my local store has this dimension, OFFER DETAILS CLOSED Severe Weather (Common: 5/8-in x 5-1/2-in x 6-ft; Actual: 0.625-in x 5.5-in x 6-ft) Wood Southern Yellow Pine Dog Ear Wood Fence Picket. Should I be using 2 panel in one side as compared to one in your case. Please help
Easiest way to secure the planter is to drive a few screws from underneath the railing into the planter, or if you don’t want to run a screw through the railing. You could add a skirt down the side to keep it in place.
I'm gonna make this for my mom's deck for mother's day, thanks for the video 😊
Nobody's talking about this man being barefoot lol😅
Good tip on the bowing
To attach it to the rail just drill 2 holes on each end of the bottom board and use a u-clamp to hold it in place.
Just the design I am looking for as have never made one before. How long were the end pieces you cut off the boards to fit in the ends and middle?
Thanks for the video. How did you attach it to your deck railing? I have a very similar railing.

I’m a diy novice so bare with me lol, but is there any method you’re following to where you drilled the holes at the beginning?

😮 Holy calf muscles! I've got chicken legs
Hahaha. They are a curse and a blessing.
Is there some way to be sure it doesn’t fall off the deck?
