The best thing about Queen is they are their own genre. You can't really put them under 1 category. They're so unique and so amazingly talented. I have a playlist on TH-cam of all their albums and I just love it. I put it on shuffle and listen to everything. One of their deeper tracks from the album "The Game" is Dragon Attack, and it has the most bad ass bass line EVER. You should definitely check it out.
In 1977, at 16 years old, I went to my first rock concert. It was Queen! Our floor seats were 4th row, center. At the end of the concert, Freddie threw a couple of armfuls of carnation flowers out to the audience. I still have mine!! ❣
@user-ly6qe3ot6i saw them in January and December of '77'. January was in Madison WI for the Day at the Races tour. Cheap Trick was the opener. They were rocking the place like mad city likes to. They were starting their 3rd encore when they had the power cut off. The house lights came up and Rick Nielsen said "well I guess we're done. " Queen came out and started with 'Tie Your Mother Down'. Phenomenal 1st song with Freddy doing his thing and Brian May blazing the lead and slide on the red special. Plus the pyrotechnics and quad speakers. And it amazingly got better and better. Best two band concert in my experience. Same thing in December in Chicago. The News of the World tour. No opening act. Two plus hours of Queen. Drove through a blizzard both times. Glad I did. Those were the days of our lives.
Freddie wrote this song as a tribute to Aretha Franklin. He was a crazy fan of hers. If you listen to the studio version of this, you can really hear the gospel influence. There are just not enough superlatives to describe Freddie's voice.
The greatest live performance of all time is Queen Live Aid. Mercury had the entire stadium along with everyone watching the live broadcast wrapped around his fingers.
The slight problem with that statement, assuming it's from the movie, is that he tested positive in 1985, and he didn't. He DID find out around 1987 that he had HIV, but it's said that he had symptoms around 1982. However, it's impressive that he had a throat infection and gave one hell of a show at Live Aid against his doctor's orders 🤣
Yes! watch the Live Aid performance. And watch the documentaries about it. You don't need to react and post it, but you need to watch it. Much love, brother.
Can you imagine following Queen's performance at the 1985 Live Aid? Well Bowie & Jagger did it with a pre-recorded "Dancing in the Street". I guess after Queen's super charged performance, the down time of a recorded video was good for kitchen or bathroom breaks.
You want some Queen? Hard Queen?… Stone Cold Crazy, Tie Your Mother Down… for example. Radio hits? Crazy little thing called love, killer Queen, radio Gaga…… Offbeat classics? ‘39, mustafa, get down make love….. Heartfelt masterpieces? One year of love, love of my life…. @@heidifarstadkvalheim4952 its not a competition love, we were just commenting on this video, sure Silja is great...but not in Queen...so not relevant to this thread ta xx
Freddie Mercury told a reporter early on in Queen''s career, "I won't be a rock star, I will be a legend." Thank you for getting to know a man and a band that I love so much. And there are millions if not billions more like me! There music transcends musical stereotypes. *peace*✌
Freddie expressed himself and who he was 1000%. No filter, no apologies, no toning it down or "reading the room". No mask, no fancy hair, no fussy clothes. Nothing between him and the audience. Strutting out with his arms thrown wide and his whole chest and body exposed and flung open on display. Incredible really. He was like lightning in a bottle. Thanks for the awesome reaction!
Auto-Tune was invented after Freddy passed on. Not that he needed it because he had a built-in Autotune that was better than any Autotune device ever made. Freddy was that good. And I will be a Queen and Freddy fan even after I pass away.
I was incredibly privileged to watch Queen in concert when I was 19. They were, and are, one of the greatest performers EVER‼️ He was actually quite sick at the time, but you would have never guessed it❗️ He sang that and many of his other great works of music! He had the most incredible musical ability and stage presence ever‼️ The cool thing about Queen is their respect for one another’s musical prowess. Their performances were never the same, as they had this way of stepping aside, so one of their members could take the stage! They would also have a great way of opening the stage for the whole audience to be not just be spectators, but performers as well! You would leave the arena knowing that the you were part of a once in a lifetime event!! Thank you so very much for sharing 🤩❣️

To think that the guitarist sublime, Brian May, is also a fully credentialed Ph.D. astrophysicist blows my mind. Don't know much about his scholarly work, but his guitar work hits the heavens ever time.
@@ythomitnellum And May recently was in the news for his critical role in the NASA mission that had a small spacecraft intercept a comet, collect samples, and then successfully return those samples to Earth for analysis. May's role was critical as his work calculated the path of the spacecraft needed to accomplish that intercept.
His PhD thesis is titled “A Survey of Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dust Cloud” and is available in full online as a pdf : spiral.imperial.ac.uk/bitstream/10044/1/1333/1/May-BH-2007-PhD-Thesis.pdf
Brian’s PhD thesis is available as a free pdf file online : “A Survey of Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dust Cloud” - my brain scrambled and short-circuited trying to read it, it’s so beyond my personal level of competence. The man is incredibly brilliant - as a musician, composer, lyricist, Astrophysicist AND a renowned expert at Stereoscopic 3D photography and imaging. It’s truly unfair that he got such a wide-ranging plethora of talents - I mean “Damn, Brian - leave some talent for the rest of us, why don’t ya!”
Roger Taylor left off being a dentist to play with Queen, and John Deacon is an electrical engineer. I remember reading once the question- are they the smartest band in the world?
In the early eighties Queen were to play at a football stadium in the uk ( football stadiums for concerts were still quite new then ) and Freddie was sound checking the day before. We came out of houses and vehicles just stopped where they were to listen. Who can stop a whole city? RIP freddie.
You were absolutely correct, they were the Kings of Stadium or Anthem Rock. John Deacon retired after Freddie's death. He played the tribute concert for Freddie, they finished an album and he went into the studio to record a tribute song to Freddie. Brian May had written the song and sent it to Roger who put it in a drawer and forgot about it for quite some time. Eventually they met and recorded it and then John was done. He has not had contact with the other guys. He did handle their finances for awhile after retirement but the last time Brian and Roger were asked about him they said that they hadn't had any contact in many years. I find that quite sad but it is his life to lead. Roger, the drummer, was an amazing vocalist in his own right and he frequently took over lead vocals from Freddie when Freddie's voice was fried from singing. During Live Aid, most of the high notes are Roger. Roger and John together were a percussion force to be reckoned with. They were like metronomes. And singing so much of the lyrics while maintaining the beat/rhythm is not an easy feat. Brian has a sound all his own. When he starts to play, you instantly know it is Brian May. He still plays his "Red Special" which is the guitar that he and his father built in their garage. He has a PhD in Astrophysics and his father was rather critical of his spending his life playing in a rock band when he had so much to give the world in his chosen field. His father didn't hear him perform for many, many years and then finally came to one of their concerts and when they were done and came off stage, Brian's father said words to the effect, "Now I see why you do it.: Interesting facts, they are the only rock band where each member wrote a number one song. They were the first band to start playing in stadium's while on their tour of South America, they played in outdoor soccer venues which held huge numbers of people. Freddie once talked about how amazing it was to stand on a stage and have everyone in the audience singing the lyrics back to you. They didn't speak English but they knew the words to the song. When they were first starting out, they didn't have a lot of money but they had finally had an album with hits on it and John and his wife wanted to purchase a house. They went to the management team to ask for a loan to buy the house and management turned John down. The entire band made the decision to drop the team. That is how they ended up with their lawyer being their manager. John and his childhood sweetheart are still married today and live in that same house. They have five children. I like to think that sometimes John goes down in the basement and picks up the bass and really lets go. Brian, Roger and Adam Lambert are on tour right now and I will be seeing them on November 5th in Denver. I have seen them before and while I wish Freddie and John were still here, Brian and Roger are great with Adam. As for what songs you should do, you can pretty much close your eyes on a list of their songs and stab one and it will be wonderful. No rock group survives a lot of years without being able to change up their music and try and keep things fresh. Queen could do rock, ballads, etcetera. Maybe not country and western, though, LOL!!
This song really shows the talent of the back up singer...he is incredible! Any band but Queen he would be front man. He has done some great solo work...it worth looking.
Queen. Dear friends. Most heartbreaking lyrics. Then here is his final video. Days of our lives. The final scene kills me every time, as Freddie looks at the camera and smiles that smile and hispers "I still love you". Every goddamn time!!!😢😢😢 Miss Freddie so much, nobody evn compares. Not then and not now, probably not ever.
Not their final song. Their final and also most heartbreaking song (you will understand what I mean, when you hear it, and if you understand the crucial change (and the reason for it) of the final verse)
Freddie didn't find music, it was born in him like a vital organ... And the whole band meeting when they did and having so much chemistry and talent is a cosmic explosion that will rarely, if ever, be seen again. All hail Queen. They're fucking brilliant. ❤❤
Ye,, definitely so freddie noone could ever top his talent out of this world for me like he was born in onother galaxy just un human person voice control stage presence playing the piano the guitar wrote so many hits his vocal range just alegend but all the members of queen are amazing but freddie is the front agod music ever walked on this planet❤
Freddie Mercury was shy ...When he came on stage he became very out going ...Never will be another Freddie ,,One of a kind ...A Legend ....I have been a Fan for over 40 yrs ...
You must watch Queen’s performance at Live Aid, undeniably one of the greatest, if not the greatest set in modern history. Talent and professionalism of the highest order. With 2 billion, yes with the B, watching it live, Freddie finally had the stage that fitted his talent.
Freddy was careful about showing his true self to people but a party animal around his friends. He had an operatic voice! What range & presence! Broke my heart to lose him, I DID grow up watching him!
One of the best understated Freddie vocal performances, and Roger on backup vocals kills it at the end. Those cups aren't filled with beer - they're water with lemon and honey to help with Freddie's vocal chords.
@@marilynleveque2497 Not sure what question you're responding to but there is beer on the piano at Live Aid. For sure. I don't think he had any time to drink it though ;) Maybe a quick sip. He certainly earned it.
Freddie's walk was very intentional--it was one way that he controlled and built airflow into the lungs to give him the power and ability to reach and sustain those amazing vocals. Very much the same way Phil Collins used the force of drumming to control and add power to his vocals. Elvis also used body movement in the same way. Whenever you hear amazing vocals with movement it is enabling the vocal control/delivery.
Have you ever considered a career in radio? Every time I listen to you I am struck by the fact that (imho) you have a perfect radio voice-- beautiful, compelling, gentle yet authoritative, and more. You'd be great on NPR, for example. Just a thought...
@2:50 Most people who are fans of Queen (as I am) don't realize that the lead guitarist, Brian May, happens to have a PhD in Astrophysics. He was Knighted last March 2023 by King Charles and today is Sir Brian May. He co-authored 2 books with fellow Astrophysicist Sir Patrick Moore and was the Chancellor of Liverpool John Moores University until 2013.
@@jonathanpark7245 I think you misread my comment. I am a fan of Queen. "...as I am" is inclusive of the fandom only, and not the following statement. ;)
Same, I loved him and Queen so much when I was a kid that my parents didn’t tell me he died until years after the fact, and I was devastated. I never credited for the death of someone I never met as hard as I cried over Freddie’s death.
I am like you when it comes to celebrities dying I don’t normally cry. However, when John Lennon was murdered, I was in shock and I think the whole world was crying. Freddie Mercury, another world cry when he died.
I saw them in 79 at Madison Square garden. Best concert I ever saw. The audience was so involved I was afraid the building would collapse and I've seen many concerts there. Freddie is the greatest front man in music history!!!
I spent my 24th birthday at this concert in Montreal, November 1981. Road trip almost 5000 miles return. No one had the audience like Freddy did! And I was right there, 8th row-center! My best concert memory, to be sure!!
One of my greatest regrets is not making this concert. A car full of kids was going up to Montreal from Toronto and offered me a seat. I, for the life of me, don't remember why I turned it down. I was 20 at the time.
Queen was such an amazing TIGHT band, they were so tuned in to one another, one of the greatest live bands of all time, and Freddie? THE BEST frontman ever.
Was a sad day when we lost the great Freddy! Private person with a heart of gold! When he was away on tour he used to call up his beloved cats! Just a beautiful man! Always miss him. ❤🙏
The ‘this guy’ with the long hair - Sir (Dr.) Brian May.. still performing, along with Roger Taylor on drums, altho the long hair is grey these days!! Queen was, and still is, an amazing band; if not the best.. one of the best live bands to ever perform for us! Thank-you for your thoughtful reaction. And actually, if you have time, take a listen to some of the band’s current performances with the great Adam Lambert as their frontman.
A lot of musicians are walking around with much shorter hair, balding top front or all shaven. Then there’s Brian. Sure it’s grayer but it’s long and full, and flowing. Good genes in the May family, I suspect. You all keep rocking - no matter how your hair or head looks today.
My favourite band is Queen. I saw them 6 times and at Live Aid. I met them all in 1978 at Bingley Hall, too. Total gentlemen. Love them forever! Listen to Stone Cold Crazy next or White Queen xx
When Freddie took the stage he had people in the palm of his hand. No frontman has ever had more confidence than Freddie. I saw this concert the following summer same stage same superman tank top. Saint Paul Minnesota. Summer of 82.
I grew up listening to Queen thanks to my parents who played their albums every weekend while playing cards with friends. There will never be another Freddie. He was incredible. His voice, his writing ability. Queen. One of a kind. Brilliant.
I love this song both live and studio for different reasons The layering and harmonies on the studio version cannot be recreated live and live has energy and dynamics that you don't see in the studio.. Thank you for your reaction.
I was fortunate enough to see Queen at all four tours where they played The Forum in Los Angeles (Inglewood.) Believe me when I say, Freddie could make that arena, that sat 18,000 for concert events, feel like your living room. That’s the kind of stage presence he had. The band was beyond tight. One day while working Pirates at Disneyland, I was in the Load position, and lead guitarist Brian May came up my line with one of his kids (he’s ridiculously tall and I’m 5’2”), and when I asked, “how many in your group?” he smiled and said, “one and a half.” I smiled and laughed and said, “I could come with you guys and make you two!” and made him giggle! Totally made my day, all the while thinking, AHMAHGAHDTHATSBRIANFREAKINGMAY!
If you have not listened to White Queen live at Odeon 1974 it is a must. The instrumental section in the middle is absolutely spellbinding. Like others have said Live Aid is an absolutely terrific 20 minutes that gives a great breakdown of their hits.
OOOOH! “White Queen” at The Odeon, Hammersmith FOR SURE! That is the definition of illustrious! I searched far & wide got the album of that whole performance. SOOO worth it! ❤
Freddie was like no other. Same with Brian May on guitar (does look like he should have Excaliber), John Deacon some of the best bass riffs in history....Roger Taylor..the drums, growing up in a family of drummers kicks ars...however his voice!!! Those high notes he can hit are unheard of!!! I was blessed to grow up watching them, buying their 45's, lp's, etc.
I've watched Freddie's performance of These Are The Days Of Our Life many, many times and I still have to try not to cry at those final words... his final recorded utterance... "I Still Love You"
I received a copy of News of the World when I was 6 yo in 1977. From the first moment I listened to that album, I was instantly a lifelong Queen fan. I went from "what is this" to "I will love this band for the rest of my life" in an instant. The first 2 songs on that album are We Will Rock You and We Are the Champions, and my 6 yo brain just couldn't comprehend what I was listening to. Even now, when I listen to Queen, I get the same feeling of being in the presence of greatness. Freddie has been gone for 30 years now, but his music continues to inspire and amaze each new generation, and that makes me incredibly happy.
News of the World was my first album too! I was 7 years old and it changed my life. My first concert was the Hot Space tour when I was 12. I'm so thankful I had a cool Mom. LOL!
Back in 1973 I met a gorgeous long-haired guy at a hip London market where I bumped into him a couple of times tending two different stalls. He told me how broke he was and working all the hours he could to pay off his 'mountain of debts'... He was in a band, but apparently they weren't making much money! He was sweet and friendly though a little shy at first... and when he burst out laughing at the little melodrama he'd created around his sad story, I noticed... a set of enormous white teeth... I didn't quite know what to make of him but he fascinated me...beautiful/ ugly, and so full of life. I always meant to go back and see him again but my life took another direction and I never saw him again. A few years ago, I realised who that guy was...yes, it was none other than the now legendary Mr Mercury. Do check out "You Take My Breath Away" - Live at Hyde Park, 1976; just long-haired Freddie (as I remember him) at the piano, shushing a rowdy evening crowd with wave of a slender finger and a spellbinding tale of obsessive love.
Yep. Dr. May was part of the Osiris Rex team that just dropped off those samples from the asteroid Bennu. He had helped scope out where on the asteroid it would grab it's samples from.
Since I started watching reactors to music of my younger days this song has become one of my favorites. The realization that it’s live, not electronic magic, just insane talent, always hits hard. Glorious.
Queen is another one of those bands that it's hard to go wrong with. Out of the four albums I had, there were no bad songs...and now I have their full discography on mp3. :)
Thanks, Polo - your friend did not steer you wrongly... this entire concert was fantastic.. and not just the amazing Freddie - but EVERYONE... they were all fire...no back-up recordings, and no "autotune" - appreciate your reaction and hope to do more...(p.s. don't mock Brian's hair.. it just grew out of his head that way.... lol)
@@brendadickenson3547 YES, Brenda! been in love with Brian May since age 15.. sadly that did not work out for me.. but still, love is love, even if unrequited... lol
Love this❤ I saw them once and it truly was a once in a lifetime experience. I'm 61 and I've been to many concerts from the 70s through the 90s and absolutely no band or lead singer will EVER come close to Queen. Thanks Polo!!!
What i personally find so special about this performance is that a couple of times he looks directly at the cameraman and it feels like he's looking at you . That makes this one of my very favourite live performances. Thanks for the awesome reaction
Queen was an amazing band. Incredible harmonies, phenomenal instrumentation, and a lead vocalist who was incredibly magnetic and took control of the stage. I was lucky enough to see them play live twice (not counting their Live Aid performance on LiveTV.)
Sooooo agree he DID OWN THE WORLD IN those twenty minutes! Just watched the movie with my parents who are 76 and 77 I did a video of their faces! Mom crying (not a normal thing for us to see) my dad just having survived a near death just 46 hours earlier… we’re hypnotized and singing! Queen became a favorite for my Dad only recently! At 77 he drove me to breakfast with Queen blasting so loud we rocked the entire neighborhood ! My TOP 3 BEST EXPERIENCES IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! Long live QUEEN! Freddie you are a treasure and my friend! You are STILL GIVING YOUR GIFTS AND CONNECTING PEOPLE WITH YOUR SUPER POWER!
Freddie Mercury is the best front man of all time. He could control the crowd with the movement of one finger. I saw Queen in 1982 and it was among the best shows I ever saw!
I saw them live a few times, and they always brought it! They have a few songs that feature Roger Taylor on vocals, and he's an amazing vocalist as well. I'm in Love With My Car comes to mind. The studio version of this emphasizes the call and response aspects of the song more than the live version, but it always reminded me of something that might have come from a black church from the South. Possibly my favorite Queen song!
It was a well known fact that Freddie loved Aretha Franklin. There are interviews that he did where he said he loved her phrasing and singing. It’s been said that this song was an homage to Franklin and her church background. So you are right on point about this sounding like something from church. 👏👏
@@mdunawaym You’re welcome. Another little tidbit about Aretha. When Aretha and George Michael collaborated on a duet “I Knew You Were Waiting for Me”, Freddie was somewhat envious because he didn’t have the opportunity to sing with Aretha. One of his band mates told the story that Freddie said George was OK but he (Freddie) would have done it better. His respect for Aretha was legendary. BTW if you haven’t seen the duet with Aretha and George, it’s worth a watch. Cheers.
Queen has been my favorite band since 1977. Damn, that's a long time! The studio recording of STL is one of the finest examples of studio production that you are ever likely to hear, and yet this live performance manages to top it. How that is even possible is a beautiful mystery.
I just subscribed. I can see the amazement and joy you are feeling in watching Queen/Freddie. Love your reactions. I'm on board to watch your journey through the 20 years of the Queen catalogue. We lost Freddie much too soon, but he lives on in our hearts.
I am always so excited when I see new people venturing out on their music journey, especially when these songs are the ones, we grew up with & loved!!! Enjoy your journey man, you are in for a treat 😄 Freddie Mercury was one of the best front men in Rock History, & QUEEN, one of the best bands!!! I really enjoyed your reactions and comments, you made an old lady very happy today 😊
Great Reaction! :) Queen spanned decades and brought out a studio album every year, all the members were songwriters and penned a hit song, they were the first band to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Keeping that in mind I suggest your start at the beginning with the first album 'Queen' and go from there chronologically. You won't regret it.
They have already mentioned Live Aid so I won't mention that, but if you haven't already heard it, listen to Love of my Life live at Rock in Rio 1985. Queen wasn't even sure the people in Brazil could understand them but what happens next is completely overwhelming when the crowd sings to Freddie and they know every word. Over 100,000 Portuguese speaking people singing Freddie's song to him. It's very moving and amazing. If you haven't seen it, it's well worth watching. The thing about Queen is that these guys are all brilliant even outside of music. Brian May on guitar is an Astro Physicist, Roger on drums has a degree in biology and John Deacon on bass has a degree in electronics. Freddie had his own degree and developed their iconic Queen emblem. Freddie was not a classically or otherwise trained musician. He had some piano lessons and song in a primary school choir. He truly had a pure gift of a voice and skill on the piano. In addition to his incredible range, they all were very sensitive to how music was constructed in the studio and paid attention to every detail. That is why their music is so technically good. They are one of the few bands you will hear that sound as good live as they do recorded as they were able to recreate the same sound on stage.
my favorite live performance on youtube ever! FYI-if you download from the official Queen youtube channel you never have to filter the video. They don't block. Can't believe you don't get Queen requests. I just assumed all reactors did-lol.
OK POLO, I have been a blazing fan of Queen since the early seventies. I have two of every album they ever made. One of each has been carefully stored. They are all in their original shrink wrap. So, yes. I am one of the original die hard fans of Queen. I have to Wimbleton several times. I live in NY but have business in London so it wasn't that difficult for me. I kept a keen eye on their performance schedule so I knew in advance where and when they would be at any certain time. I cried for a week when Freddie died and still get teary when I watch the videos. They have come a long way, increasing the quality of their performances. What a phenomenal band, They exude talent.

I was 18 years old when I saw Queen during this tour at the Baltimore Civic Center in August, 1980. Freddie owned the crowd from the moment he stepped on the stage. 43 years ago and I still vividly remember so much of the concert. Definitely one of "those shows".

And while drumming…I mean I’m not sure I’d keep up with breathing let alone singing while drumming like that…the guys a legend!
Roger has an awesome voice as well
Then you havent heard Silja Sol with Aurora
@@heidifarstadkvalheim4952 its not a competition love, we were just commenting on this video, sure Silja is great...but not in Queen...so not relevant to this thread ta xx
Yeah roger Taylor is literally the few people that can sing and drum at the same time.
Collins can do it as well as a few others.
Amazing.
Freddie Mercury told a reporter early on in Queen''s career, "I won't be a rock star, I will be a legend." Thank you for getting to know a man and a band that I love so much. And there are millions if not billions more like me! There music transcends musical stereotypes. *peace*✌
There will never be another Freddie. His voice & stage presence is like no other.
Marc Martel is the closest that i have ever heard but Freddie was one of a kind.
So very true. He is so missed.
Absolutely 💕 💯 percent ❤
@@brandonkellogg9845 Martel sounds incredible, but he doesn't have that *something*.
No auto tune. Just 4 gifted musicians at their peak!
Auto-Tune was invented after Freddy passed on.
Not that he needed it because he had a built-in Autotune that was better than any Autotune device ever made.
Freddy was that good.
And I will be a Queen and Freddy fan even after I pass away.
No auto tune. Just natural talent. Even the drummer can sing better than so many today.
That for sure...and all were able to write world hits...there is no band with so much talent and skill ever.
😂😂😂❤
He is the guy who hit the super high falsetto note in Bohemian Rhapsody.
I was incredibly privileged to watch Queen in concert when I was 19. They were, and are, one of the greatest performers EVER‼️ He was actually quite sick at the time, but you would have never guessed it❗️ He sang that and many of his other great works of music! He had the most incredible musical ability and stage presence ever‼️
The cool thing about Queen is their respect for one another’s musical prowess.

He left his studies in 1974 as Queen began to have musical success and only completed his PhD in 2007 aged 60, showing that you’re never too old.
Freddie had a powerful singing voice,I don't think there's any one else that can compare.
In the early eighties Queen were to play at a football stadium in the uk ( football stadiums for concerts were still quite new then ) and Freddie was sound checking the day before. We came out of houses and vehicles just stopped where they were to listen. Who can stop a whole city? RIP freddie.
Wow cool..!
The entire band is absolutely amazing
One of Roger's best backup vocal performances live.
And Roger usually sung the high part of the harmonies. Always loved 'I'm in Love with my Car'.
This song really shows the talent of the back up singer...he is incredible! Any band but Queen he would be front man.
He has done some great solo work...it worth looking.
I was at the last ever live Queen concert, Knebworth, 1986, 120,000 people. Phenomenal
Me too.
Queen's Live Aid performance
For a fact
A.I.D.S. robbed us of this beautifully talented man. There will never be another.💔💔
Freddie didn't find music, it was born in him like a vital organ... And the whole band meeting when they did and having so much chemistry and talent is a cosmic explosion that will rarely, if ever, be seen again. All hail Queen. They're fucking brilliant. ❤❤
The most epic way to describe Freddie. The man was a legend.
"It was born in him like a vital organ." What a beautiful phrase! Just got me right in the feels!
I love this
What a brilliant description of Freddy
Freddie Mercury was shy ...When he came on stage he became very out going ...Never will be another Freddie ,,One of a kind ...A Legend ....I have been a Fan for over 40 yrs ...
My favorite band is Queen. Lucky enough to see them live five times. No one can match them live. FREDDY WAS ONE OF A KIND.
Freddie was one of a kind.
I. AM. SO. JEALOUS! I’m seeing them in October but obviously not the same without Freddie.
You're so lucky....
I wish I could have seen them....with Freddie
Yes, Freddie was❤
Actually there is a newer artist called Dimash. Which probably can match. With that said Queen is of course legendary.
An absolute masterpiece, no one today can touch Queen! I’ll wait for opinions ❤
You must watch Queen’s performance at Live Aid, undeniably one of the greatest, if not the greatest set in modern history.
Talent and professionalism of the highest order.
With 2 billion, yes with the B, watching it live, Freddie finally had the stage that fitted his talent.
"With 2 billion watching it live, Freddie finally had the stage that fitted his talent" - Beautiful. I love it. Thankyou for that.
Great concert- amazing!
Yes, the honey and lemon thing is very common for singers. It helps the throat, soothes and helps with the vocal chords.
FYI it's vocal cords. He sings chords with his vocal cords.
There was some beer too. It's ok.
Not Live Aid performance.
Yes! Your voice is velvet
I second that. I've noticed it too.
Ditto, ditto, ditto.
I have a friend who is a local DJ. His favorite line is “I have a voice for radio and the face to match.”
How were you able to leave this comment if you are a queen fan that doesn't realize that the guitar player, Brian May, has a PhD. in Astrophysics?

I’m not the type to cry when a celebrity or musician dies, but I *cried* when Freddy died. He was one of a kind.
Beautiful song, fantastic band! And Freddie’s soulful voice is totally out of this world!!
I saw them in 79 at Madison Square garden.
Best concert I ever saw.
The audience was so involved I was afraid the building would collapse and I've seen many concerts there.
Freddie is the greatest front man in music history!!!
Dude…I was there too! I saw Queen 2X in NYC. Both concerts were phenomenal!
They were one of the most talented bands ever. All four played their instruments, sang, wrote songs, and performed on stage at the highest level.
I spent my 24th birthday at this concert in Montreal, November 1981. Road trip almost 5000 miles return. No one had the audience like Freddy did! And I was right there, 8th row-center! My best concert memory, to be sure!!
I don't really get jelaous of other people but...now I'm close. 😊
I'd feel envy also if it weren't me! Haha!@@tinasjostrand2677
One of the biggest musical and human losses of our time. Never another like him❤️
possibly theeeeee greatest frontman EVER backed by some of the finest musicians EVER
The guitar Brian plays, the "Red Special" was built in his father's garage from assorted odds and ends around the home and kitchen
I love this song! There will never be another Freddy Mercury. ❤ 🙏
Freddie was one of a kind.
I love Queen. It doesn't matter how many versions of any Queen song the best is with Freddie singing. RIP Freddie x
This whole concert is phenomenal. You could choose any song from it and see a great performance. ❤
I agree, I saw them at Madison Square Garden in September 1980 on this tour.
Just found your channel...GREAT..and this is my favorite Queen song!!!
Greatest live band..EVER! Hat off to drummer Roger Taylor for those backing vocals as well!
I think you might mean the 1975 live show at Hammersmith... ?
Oh yes!another priceless performance!
Sorry I got the year wrong and yes it was the Hammersmith Odeon

Probably my favourite Queen song ever. Almost ethereal
Dude, you gotta check out studio version Mercury's harmony with the rest of the band makes the song😎🎸
Freddie and Monserate Cappelle, singing Barcelona .Freddie was also Operatic
One of my favourites was “ Who wants to live forever “ Sends chills down my spine especially since we had lost him! Amazing. ❤
I've watched Freddie's performance of These Are The Days Of Our Life many, many times and I still have to try not to cry at those final words... his final recorded utterance... "I Still Love You"
Had the privilege to see queen in concert in Slane Ireland 🇮🇪 in 1986 what a voice what a band
So true! I miss him. This was a great song! Vocals by Freddie and the rest of Queen, JD, RT, and BMay. ❤️
Queen is my number one. They have such variety in their music. The more you listen the more impressed you'll be.
No BS, just pure raw talent!!!
News of the World is my favorite Queen album
Once in a lifetime experience.
Born in Zanzibar, 🇮🇳 Indian heritage ❤
Dr Brian May on guitar, astrophysicist if I recall, took a lot to keep up with Freddie but there you go.
Yep.
Glorious.
His voice was so good he could bring me to tears depending on the song. I cry every time I hear certain songs. He was a beautiful human being.
Freddy always owned the stage whenever he performed. The rest of the band are very talented and knew how to anticipate his every move.
Queen is another one of those bands that it's hard to go wrong with. Out of the four albums I had, there were no bad songs...and now I have their full discography on mp3. :)
Yeah, Queen is still among the best in the World, The voice of an angel 😇 ❤❤❤

Was referring to the live aid performance … but anything FREDDIE MERCURY did is mesmerizing snd life changing
Freddie Mercury is the best front man of all time. He could control the crowd with the movement of one finger. I saw Queen in 1982 and it was among the best shows I ever saw!
An utterly amazing band. Just an extra shout out to Roger Taylor’s back up vocals, what an absolutely fantastic voice
Yeah...he was the "soprano" of the group!!
I've never heard that, but it makes total sense. Thanks for that information!@@Lakeshore14
Cheers.
I saw Queen in Atlanta 1977 at age 16💜💜
I love early Queen live. White Queen, Liar, etc. Great stuff. Thanks for watching this brilliant concert performance by Freddie and the guys.
Im 65 years old and im from Sweden ,when i was young , queen was the number one .
Great Reaction! :)
Queen spanned decades and brought out a studio album every year, all the members were songwriters and penned a hit song, they were the first band to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
QUEEN IS MY FAVORITE BAND 👑👑👑 Nothing and no one compares to QUEEN ✨⚡️💫💥 Now you need to watch Somebody to Love Live in Milton Keynes ✌🏼😂 TY for your great reaction …… more QUEEN please … YOU AIN’T SEEN NUTHIN’ YET 🥰
I was 18 years old when I saw Queen during this tour at the Baltimore Civic Center in August, 1980. Freddie owned the crowd from the moment he stepped on the stage. 43 years ago and I still vividly remember so much of the concert. Definitely one of "those shows".
