Seems odd to ask a woman born in Israel whether she'd ever consider returning to Ethiopia.
How is that really any different than asking an Ashkenazi Jew whether he considered return to Poland?

Corey asks everyone if they would like to live back to where their parents and grandparents came from before Israel. This is because of the high number of people that think that Palestine should substitute Israel in the map and Jews should go back to their countries of origin. Because that's how anti-semites refer to the Jewish exile.

They’ve deliberately abandoned their heritage , culture and religion. These people were not even known in late 70’s and 80”s . They never practiced Judaism nor knew a single Hebrew language. I love Beta Israel, they have an amazing history. I can already tell a lot of people will try to divide up Jews on this video. Whether Mizrahim, Ashkenazim, Sephardim, Beta Israel, we are all Yehudim. My Babylonian-Jewish grandfather fought side by side with the Ashkenazi Jews in the 30's and 40's. My Ashkenazic father pleaded with the Israeli government for them to bring our Ethiopian brothers and sisters back to Israel. You can try to split up the Jewish people, but you will never succeed.

When someone talks about "Babylonian Jews" they are talking about those modern-day Jews who trace their descent to those ancient Judeans who were exiled to Babylon and later formed the Iraqi-Jewish community; not the ancient people of Babylon who exiled them. Today most Iraqi Jews live in Israel, and those outside Israel are spread through the UK, the US (particularly Los Angeles area and Great Neck and Jamaica Estates, NY) and in Australia.

      Random Guy
So you're telling me that 30 years or so is sufficient to uproot someone from thousands of years of historical heritage?
I disagree with you because Jews managed to protect their identity and traditions in many parts of the world so why not in secular Israel?
the only groups that managed to protect their identity are those like of the orthodox religious groups who managed to resist the pressures of secularism despite attempts by the government to integrate them into the Zionist melting pot (for example trying to force them to serve in the army among other things), some even emigrated to far away places like Lev tahor for example.
I may be wrong but the way I see it Israel is actively seeking to create a melting pot society deprived of individuality and distinct ethnic belonging .... the way things are going there will be a brand new Israeli specimen in just few decades .....Is that good or bad? it's a matter of interpretation but for me I love diversity and prefer a non conformist society where individuality is allowed to thrive.

      @Tahia Dzair
Well, the further away in time from the generation born outside the country, the more assimilation there is -- that's the way it always works in every country with immigrant groups.
_I disagree with you because Jews managed to protect their identity and traditions in many parts of the world so why not in secular Israel?_
You just answered your own question. It's easier to protect a cultural identity when you're oppressed and living in a closed society. For generations in the Diaspora, different Jewish communities preserved unique and distinct identities not only because they were traditional peoples, but also because the larger culture didn't accept them which reinforced the separation and the power of their religious leaders. In an open, secular society, where there are so many temptations, it's much easier to lose traditions.
_the only groups that managed to protect their identity are those like of the orthodox religious groups who managed to resist the pressures of secularism despite attempts by the government to integrate them into the Zionist melting pot (for example trying to force them to serve in the army among other things)_
Don't forget that many Orthodox Jews in Israel today actually regard themselves as staunch Zionists; a majority of IDF oficers today are religious.
_some even emigrated to far away places like Lev tahor for example_
"Lev Tahor" is a fringe loony cult -- that is regarded as extreme even by anti-Zionist ultra-Orthodox Jews -- they're not "preserving" anything -- they were founded by a formerly secular Jew (of Sephardic background actually), who changed his name to "Helbrans" (an Ashkenazi name) from the Sephardic "Elbarnes". In short, he reinvented himself. The women in Lev Tahor have started draping themselves in niqab-like garments -- that's not even a Jewish thing! And then there are the allegations of child sex abuse. Bunch of nutbags, that's what "Lev Tahor" is.
_I may be wrong but the way I see it Israel is actively seeking to create a melting pot society deprived of individuality and distinct ethnic belonging...._
Oh, for sure, that was the ideal in the years leading up to and immediately after the founding of Israel. People were discouraged from spekaing Yiddish, Ladino, Arabic or other languages of Exile in favor of modern Hebrew. And in my view it was necessary, at the time.
_the way things are going there will be a brand new Israeli specimen in just few decades_
      There already is.
_ .....Is that good or bad?_
My view is that it's good.
_it's a matter of interpretation but for me I love diversity and prefer a non conformist society where individuality is allowed to thrive_
Wel me too, and I don;t see it as contradicting my earlier statement that a new Israeli is good either. The way it is now, even though there's been this mixing and the creation of a New Israeli Hebrewman identity, people can still take pride in Yiddish, Ladino, Ethiopian culture or whatever. Courses are offered at the universities, for instance ---
rthere are folksong events, etc. people are no longer ashamed of the Diaspora heritage; but everyone is also Israeli.

_Oh, for sure, that was the ideal in the years leading up to and immediately after the founding of Israel. People were discouraged from spekaing Yiddish, Ladino, Arabic or other languages of Exile in favor of modern Hebrew_
Is that what the Zionist project planned to do? displace the Palestinians so that they import migrants Jew to create a secular melting pot? .... what has happened to the return to the promised land and all the religious rhetoric?
Don't you think that this social engineering may one day backfire in the face of those who conceived it when the people understand that God chosen people have forced to metamorphose into a blend of ethnicities not so different from those in Brasil :)
_You just answered your own question. It's easier to protect a cultural identity when you're oppressed and living in a closed society_
That can't be said about Lev Tahor or Neturei Karta who have been persecuted in Israel and many forced choose exile to far away places like Guatemala ... and even there Israel is using it long arm to harass them.
_ For generations in the Diaspora, different Jewish communities preserved unique and distinct identities not only because they were traditional peoples_
None the less your theory doesn't stick considering that Jewish minorities outside Europe shared common cultural heritage with fellow gentiles from Morocco to central Asia but it's only in Israel that their cultures and ethnicity are threatened, I personally think Israel is turning out to be the worst thing to happen to Jews outside Europe in over 2000 years and the weirdest thing is that they're all sleepwalking towards this collective suicide.

Young man I am from the Semeon Tribe of Israel and my brothers and sisters mostly of Judah Tribe here in America and others scattered among the nations throughout the four corners of the world. I was specifically told by God the Holy Spirit that the Hebrew Israelites are my people that He speaks of in the Holy Bible KJV. You can begin reading in the book of Genesis 15:13-14; Deuteronomy 28:68; Acts 7:6-7.
Our ancestors were driven from their homeland of Israel by the white Europeans from the north once they learned that we were God's Chosen People. They enticed our an ancestors to teach them their culture and once they learned it, they then chased them out and stole their identity, language, land and culture. They will never admit it because Yahweh allowed it due to the original Hebrew Israelites disobedience. We were stripped of our identity, language, culture, sold into slavery; traumatized. Our ancestors took the beating of their lives; many suffered, died, committed suicide at sea and murdered. The oppression continues at the hands of some whites. It is a tragedy I would not wish on any nation. But we have Jehovah God watching over us.

He stated where he was from you know what let's fucking do this. I have Eastern European, Persian, Turkic, Arab, East African, and Southern European roots and I live in Canada. This isn't a political discussion I'm just saying where my genetics trace me to. He didn't say he was oppressed in Europe. Also let's talk politics now. If only the worst of these areas get in then how do they get in? This is more of a refugee problem instead of race. My parents worked their asses off with applications and of course they had to be the very best of their country to be allowed in. Refugees are the problem instead of their roots. It is a good strategy to allow refugees in but just keep them in camps as if the people of that country down the line need help from the countries that currently have refugee then there would be a good relation established. I do agree with you to some degree as an Arab my family agrees that the street people of these areas continue to be street people living of social assistance. However I wouldn't know too well as only my parents meet those shits. I associate with good people and I work hard myself. The people who don't bullshit their way here will always be the best of their nations. However currently refugees and people who cheat their ways to these Western countries.

@Amy Angell: Correction: Ethiopians don't speak Aramaic; they speak Amharic. In their language it's called "Amharinya".
Who speaks Aramaic? The Kaddish is in Aramaic (except for the last line, which is Hebrew). Hhad gadyo is in Aramaic, and the Talmud. And a few prayers in the siddur.
Syriac Christians use Aramaic in church and speak a dialect at home based on Aramaic. Some call it Syryoyo.

Ethiopian can't be slaves in Israel cus Israel never had slavery like the rest of the older countries and some of Israel founders were Ethiopian. in Israel dark skin is norm, most jews (like me) has dark skin cus we are originally from the middle East. the uncommon skin is white but after the Russian came now it's kinda equal.

actually Abraham is originally from Haran (iraq) (3000++ bc) so the jews grow up before Ethiopian culture...
but it's not a fight of who's culture better because in most cases the Jewish culture says jews should love the state they are in (like Ethiopia for example) and if the country was nice, they shouldn't forget the culture (kinda like- remember your neighbours thing.) so those cultures are taking from one another.

The Jews/Judeans lived in the Kingdom of Judea (corresponding to the area of Israel, today), and by 2,500 years ago also lived in Mesopotamia, due to exile to Babylon, later also in Alexandria, but mostly in Judea. The Ashkenazi and Sephardic communities are closely related genetically, but all of the Jewish/Judean communities are genetically related. The Ethiopian Jewish community a bit less, as there were many converts to Judaism there.

Expect injera is very big inside it has a different grain which is teff .before we make it we let it ferment for at list two days it has a little bit fermented salty flavor. We eat it with chick beef stew . Many more it’s our staple food like bread . But healthy version of it.
