  • Our last week in Australia!!
    This week we’re getting ourselves organised with documentation for shipping our car overseas and packing the car up so that it will fit in the container, which is a tight fit!
    We have a few days to relax which mean that we get to see the sights of Darwin. Coming to the end of the dry season, the city has certainly quietened down though we got here just in time to visit the famous Mindil Beach Sunset Markets before they close up for the wet season.
    From here on things get real as we start the first international part of the trip! First stop, Dili, Timor-Leste!
    Hope you guys are enjoying the videos! If you have any suggestions of what you’d like to see I’d love to hear from you!

    That’s cool that you found your grandfather’s signature on the flag. 🙇🏻‍♂️

    This vid made me homesick for TL. I only lived there for 18 months, and have been back some months but the flight over and the airport became very familiar. If you are stuck in Dili Atauro is a good choice.

    That had to be so cool seeing your grandpa s name on that flag . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A.

    Such a great idea, to build the troopy to fit in a sea container. Was that a part of the plan?
    I've been tossing up a fee ideas around a troopy. But really like the idea of the vehicle fitting inside a container.
    Hmmmm

      Having it fit in a container of some sort was always in the plan, it was either going to be a standard or high-cube. Thankfully we fit in a standard and saved some precious pennies!

      @thisneurodiverselife 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheWayOverland thanks for the reply. Awesome, I was wondering if it was a normal or a high-cube.
      I think this idea opens up so many options for transport.
      We are a family of 4. We are contemplating a troopy, but two adults and two kids? Not sure they will fit.
      Buy don't really want to go as big as an expedition truck. I can see the benefit of the smaller vehicles when travelling remote.
      Hmmmm
      So much to think about. I think I'll be watching more of your content to get some inspiration.

      Hey Richard, welcome, just in time for the finish line! Shame you missed your opportunity, hopefully the next 89 episodes of our series can take you on a virtual journey. We simply climbed out through the rear door once the Troopy was in the container. Cheers

    Hey guys, new sub here. Hope the world is providing what you seek!.. I'm wondering if you guys had footage or anything helpful about getting your rig overseas. Are you able to make a vid to help us understand better of what you had to do on both sides to take your rig overseas and the import side of things.
    I'm in my planning stages of a global expedition and will leave for Asia as you have after completing Australia.
    Many thanks for sharing your content and safe travels to you both. Cheers.

      Hey, thanks!
      Between the Q&A vid and the episodes surrounding the shipment we hope that would suffice. We also have a section on our website that runs through the costs through Indo/Timor etc which may help.

    • @TheWayOverland
      @TheWayOverland  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We run 285/75/16 with a 2” lift. Perfect combo for what we’ve need.
      What will you be doing your trip in?

      @riamriam6758 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Way Overland ok awesome I'll check out the website.
      I will wait for the next troopy to be released next year and make a decision based on what's been fixed/updated. If nothing major then any troopy that's near new second hand and will definitely have the alu cab RTT. A lot will be done to her as I'll be heading to the UK via Russia.
