We moved to Northern Idaho exactly one year ago. The people are wonderful. The community and our church have embraced us. We love it here so much. What a change it was from California. We could not wait to leave. We hesitated telling people where we were from. We still say we came here for freedom but we did not bring any of the crazy with us.

I lived in Idaho until I was 11 years old had to move due to my dad being in the military, Now That I'm Older I'm planning on moving back next year, I lived in Pokey and Arco, can't wait to move back for a quieter life of Living

In 1978, I went on a bicycle trip from Great Falls, Montana to Seattle, Washington. I was stationed at Malmstrom AFB. On my way, I went thru Coeur d'Alene. Approaching the lake, I observed a house located on the water. in the distance, a speed boat was coming fast. This houses garage door started to open. This boat turned toward the garage and glided inside and then the door closed. This was something right out of a James Bond movie! Due to the amount of mosquitos in the area, I took my pictures and left. I still had to ride to Seattle. This experience has stayed with me all this time. I enjoyed my time in Coeur d' Alene but glad that it wasn't winter.

I am a big supporter of the Oregon Move the Boarder of Eastern Ore to Idaho.I just dont know if I can wait that long... We will be calling you soon as we need to sell our places and farm. We just signed on our home in Nampa! We couldn’t be more excited. We love Northern Idaho but needed to be near St. Luke’s in Southern for the endocrinology care. We didn’t want to be forced to go to Spokane for that.

This really sounds to me like a wonderful place to live. We visited Idaho five years ago on our holiday trip from Arizona to Montana and I really would love to move to your beautiful state if I just could convince my children. Greetings from Germany.
The drivers were the one's that were new too the area have a hard time getting around safe with the weather here it seems like we had a second winter season we had a tease of spring then the big winter storm hits and nope its still winter dumping more snow in one week than all winter long!! Then you start seeing the news reports of a list of accidents and lives taken by the accidents so that is the negative one for the Idaho falls area but I heard that Pocatello got more snow than we did!!!! I'm sure if you were watching the news you saw the accidents that happened specially between Pocatello and Twin Falls!! Advice too anyone who wants to come here is take you're Time be ready for anything when it comes to the weather in our state just because you have 4 wheel drive does not mean that you have more control going slow you can get more control over what could happen!

there are many wonderful things about N. Idaho but I have found the weather in winter does not change much throughout the winter overall. Overall it is dreary, gray, cold and icy roads until March....dark at 4pm is another negative....
I moved to the Boise area ~6 years ago. I agree that the driving has gotten a little better but the tail-gating hasn’t. For the first couple of years this drove me nuts but now I just take deep breaths and make sure I always have an escape route in case I need to make a quick stop. The other thing I just haven’t been able to wrap my head around is that drivers charge the red lights at 55+ mph, lock up their wheels to stop and when the light turns green, they sit there for 10 seconds. Are they in a rush or not? I suppose this might be a defense mechanism as traffic coming the other way is also charging the red light and its hard to tell if they intend to, or can, stop. Idaho is definitely at the top of my list when it comes to states I'd like to live in. (Unfortunately) I'm in the UK (for now) and don't have an avenue to get "stateside" yet but I'll be making my way out there as soon as I can! I love what the UK used to be/stand for but it just isn't the nation my parents and grandparents grew up in anymore (thanks to the poor decisions of our politicians and the inability of our people to stand up against it with any real effect... it really makes you appreciate how great of an idea the 2A is) and it definitely doesn't satisfy my outdoorsy side like Idaho does
My last visit to Idaho I bumped into a person who was from Washington and had moved to Idaho. We talk for a minute he went to the same high school as i did. He was the only person I did not like in all my visits. He was very rude to my wife. From that point I made it clear that I did not like him and all was good...

Came across your videos not all that long ago. Awesome information! Thank you so much this really helps people who want to relocate/retire to Idaho. The number one reason we want to shift from where we are (Colorado), is because we are conservatives. We love our freedom, our guns, our military and law enforcement supportive and we LOVE Idaho still remains conservative. We were sad to learn that Boise is becoming more liberal though. We're really interested in Coeur d'Alene. Winters are no big deal, get plenty of snow here so we're used to that. Does Coeur d'Alene have good access and good health care? Housing prices are pretty insane but they are insane here as well. Anyway we may be reaching out soon:)
Hi @donnaw4910 there is really good healthcare here and pretty good access. After Covid a lot of healthcare professionals sought employment where they weren’t required to get the jab so not very place is taking new patients but I’m on the lookout myself after my doctor retired and there’s several that are able to see me within 4-6 weeks for a new patient consult. Spokane is right next door and they have triple what we have here in North Idaho so no matter what you’ll be in great hands. Looking forward to talking with you when the time comes!

I heard from many people that Idaho can be a bit racist with the blacks in the browns. What's your honest opinion?
Honest opinion, racism exists everywhere, especially in the lower parts of the social hierarchy. In terms of it being in our law enforcement, judicial system, corporations and government, it not an issue. The big reason why is that Idaho already had that label back in the day and no intelligent person wants to see it go back to that.
To me, most Idaho drivers are good. The bad drivers are from other places people who moved to Idaho.
I drive ok but like my daughter says, I drive like i am driving a tank..LOL and I park like a arse hole..LOL
I hike and do many outdoor activities in north Idaho quite a bit . It’s really sad but the pristine nature Idaho once had is rapidly being trashed. The back roads and campsites are littered with broken beer bottle, cans and random garbage along with thousands of spend bullet cartridges that litter every clearing in which people target practice and treat the area like it’s a city dump. Garbage strung everywhere. The trails have been degraded because of the over use of ATV’s and motorcycles. Quite literally the noise from the off road vehicles is louder and more annoying than in most cities. There is also a large amount of money that has moved to the area, not good or bad but true. There are still pristine places but they are getting trashed very fast. I wish people who love and use the outdoors would have some respect for it. But it doesn’t seem to have sunk in for most people who use the area. I actually know people who have large homes on the lake, but maintain small condos in Spokane to get away from the noise on the lake and how crazy the tourist season is. The quiet, out of the way Idaho I spent much of my youth playing in has been trashed beyond recognition. It’s really shocking and disgusting. If you visit or live in the area, please take care of it. There is a lot of good things about the area, but it is degrading fast.

From what I've experienced the healthcare is great. I had one hospital visit and a doctor's visit while visiting for a few months.

Don't you feel like saying it's mostly the Real Estate Agents benefiting from people moving here is a little reductive@@rentcda? I know a lot of small business owners that are very grateful for the growth. And there are a lot of folks that have pulled themselves out of poverty because of the growing opportunities. Having lived here since 1992 I know for a fact it's been a good thing for our area. And it is not just Coeur d'Alene that is experiencing these rent price issues, it's nearly nationwide. So while I can appreciate the desire to know who to blame I think blaming RE Agents is not very productive. Legislation alone is what prevents a lot of these issues but at the end of the day, every individual is responsible for their own efforts and the outcomes of those efforts. I do appreciate the dialogue.

This is gonna be a long answer:
Yes, you are wrong. I am politically homeless, meaning no party represents what I feel are the most important issues. Libertarians come close but their foundational views would allow mega-corporations to rule our country even more than they already do. The current Democratic and Republican Parties distract us with divisive issues while voting to eliminate our right to privacy and free speech. They print money for their friends and PAC donors while our infrastructure crumbles. The Conservatives and Liberals have been hijacked by groups that hope to see their radical views implemented in to our schools and legal code forcing everyone to think and act as they see as being good. I guess I am Independents but they get such little media coverage I'm not totally sure what they stand for.
So here are some of what I believe are examples of my political social views. I believe with a clear bill of mental health, proper training and a clean criminal record, an individual should be allowed to own and use whatever personal weapon system they can carry without aid and whatever attachments they want to add to it should be unregulated. I also believe an individual should be required to store these weapons in a way that make's it very difficult for children, criminals and crazy family members to get access to them. And that if an individual is feeling off, depressed anxious or other, they should be allowed to share these facts freely with whomever they want without fear of government safety protocols (confiscating your tyranny defense tools.)
I believe your body is yours and only yours and whatever medicine you find is necessary for you to look, feel, and act your best you should have unregulated access to it. And whatever medicine you deem to be not right for you is your right no matter what the governments say. I believe health & medicine is a fundamental human right and should have safety standards, not patents and distribution rights. And the only thing that should be regulated when it comes to the practice of medicine is the cost of school and the cost of care.
I also believe I'm a person, not a political party member. I care about my family, myself, my neighbors, my state, my country and my world. I’m that particular order. I believe if the people who hold all the power and money tell me my being more poor, more sick, and have less opportunity to provide for my family, they are not my friend and they do not care about me or my family.
On this channel you'll occasionally hear me say things that might sound "Liberal" and other times you'll hear me say things that might sound "Conservative" because issues are complicated and no one person or group has all the right answers. I pull from each and every group to take the 1% of good ideas they occasionally will say out loud.
