Was just up in Coeur D'Alene a few weeks ago, visiting from Colorado. North Idaho is a beautiful place, probably the only other area I'd ever move to. It's got everything. Lakes, rivers, streams, parks, mountains, forest, great food and amazing people. Definitely a place for outdoorsmen. My wife and I were so happy to get fresh delicious sushi in downtown CDA, we don't get that here in CO. Cedars on the lake is a fantastic restaurant as well. CDA and Sandpoint are gems!
Cedars is cool...when I was there 35 years ago! I'm sure its still the same. But dude...it doesn't seem like you know about the outdoors much! Think about a moose rushing you! Think about a black bear creeping up on your camping area. HAHA fresh sushi in an are not near the ocean!?!? You crazy! We got good trout and venison though! Get your ass out of luxury and enjoy the outdoors if you come close to the Ho! WA State is great too!
We Europeans grow up and associate the US with cities like LA and New York, but to me, states like Idaho are the real America. Idaho, Montana, Wyoming...such beautiful scenery.
this is true. but that most america is trash that is also true. architecture in america is nothing like europe or china for that matter, america spends too much money on wars and not enough on infrastructure. but there are some beautiful city's with pleasant architecture in america. cour d alene is one of them. ny and la where once great citys but they are so filthy and crime ridden now days but that is also true about london and brussels the infrastructure in those american citys was always kind of ugly though. im sure in some ways its not as bad but i still would not want to live in any of those citys. i think its a bigger shame that citys like berlin, london and brussels are being ruined though. they where always much more beautiful and have a richer history.
My local Washington State gun store just packed up and moved to Idaho. Like I needed another sign to head east...... and your toilet paper insert was EPIC!

This video is so "straight up" and to the point! If we ever decide to pull the trigger and move to Idaho, you are the first person we will contact. This vid is SO appreciated and encouraging with respect to living in such a beautiful part of our great country!
I'm absolutely dreaming of moving to Northern Idaho. Grew up in Oregon, lived in Alaska for a while. Sidenote: In Alaska you learn real quick that moose are far more dangerous than bears because you run into them more often and they will kick/stomp you into the afterlife with little warning. Now I'm living in the South and noooot liking the weather. I'll take ice and snow storms any day over this humidity. The only drawbacks I see to moving to Idaho is the real estate prices and seasonal wildfire smoke.
This reality will only increase as more humans move here. The salvage tiber act did not help this fire behaviorv either. There are millions of board ft of timber the timber idustry never had access to on public lands. Prior to the supposedly natural forest fires that light up like clock work annually.
@@bobbyboi8820 Yes it has. When the passed the school bond a few months back you saw about 30 to 1 signs in front yards in favor. Anyone with a clue knows what total trash public schools are, no matter where you live. They really are designed to make your kids dumber with common core.
Love your videos! And your ethics! The more you talk about the morals and values of the people in Idaho it makes me love this place even more!!!! I live in northern Nevada and we share a lot of those same values, especially firearms! I just wish we had more trees!!!!! And thats why I love idaho yall got the trees lol
Great video, I have always said there is no place that is perfect, and you can live in the most beautiful place in the world and if you are unemployed it can quickly become the saddest place for your family. If 2007-2014 taught America anything is that more government is never the answer and DC politics affect the outcome of our daily lives. I remember how many people across the country especially here in CA took their own lives over the depression of job loss, house loss, and I remember then as I too was losing my own home that money or lack of, is always temporary and just requires personal re-adjustment to new circumstances. My heart sank that evil creeps into the sad and desperate souls. This country is so amazing and every state has something to offer everyone. We all need to learn to see the beauty and positivity in wherever we live, and what I have learned as all my married adult children have left CA to raise their children that being near family is where your happy place will always be, so definitely many things to consider. I have many friends who have left to Idaho and are extremely happy with their decision and I am so happy for them. We are all given a God given right to have clean air and water, and peace on this planet. Find our peace, your happiness and you will be led to the next chapter in your life. BTW I was highly impressed with what an amazing shot the content creator is I surely would want him as my neighbor 😊
Thank you for an excellent presentation and 'heads up' about a beautiful state and good people. I'm a bit old and settled to ever seriously consider moving there but value your comments about a very special place in our large country. Hope younger folks take heed of your fine words.
Someone I spoke with at work mentioned that he met the governor of California, Gavin Newsome at some sort of festival in CDA and he told him that he was thinking of moving to north idaho if he doesn’t win the next election and that he also has family in north ID too 😐 I think places like Idaho need to be gatekeeped harder
For sure Idaho is not a deep red state like Oklahoma. I think it’s turning purple to blue. Too many crazy Californians moving there, example is you saying communist Fagin Newsome.
It's so great to know that in a country far far away from mine, people stood-up for their freedom and constitutional rights during this crazy lockdown period. All the best from France. Go Idaho.
Love the video. Thanks for the effort you put into it. I grew up in Spokane (in the 70's) and spent a lot of time canoeing and hiking in Idaho and loved it. I'm former military (Army Infantry Captain, prior enlisted, highly patriotic) and now work as a high-end catpenter / craftsman. I'm very serious about moving to Northern Idaho in 1 year and am beggining the process. I'm the guy you referenced who wants some acreage (not too much), where I can build a lovely cabin with a large shop to enjoy my woodworking. I'll be contacting you initially via email.
Did you see his Athol video? It's gorgeous, and there is land you can roam and a breathtaking lake you can float in when you're not woodworking, as long as your dog is somewhat well-trained regarding what to do when certain wildlife approaches
I was hopping to retire in Idaho, But not any more. The explosion of people of moving from other states has put the housing market and property out of reach. I'm having to rethink my retirement option's.
HAHAHAHA, laughs in Florida. My state population has doubled in 4 years, and they're all $*&*holes from NY, MA, MI, and other liberal strongholds. Already ruining everything with their terrible attitudes and constant horn honking.
Unfortunately the Boise area and the vicinity of Boise has become California 2.0 We live in a small town outside of Boise and the cost has exploded and the "California Attitude" is off the charts here. Idaho use to be such a chill place. Where people held doors open, looked you in the eyes and kindness was the norm. Not any more. The Boise is way over populated with people from California. It's ruined this area to be honest. Many Idahoian's have been proved out here and the California Entitled Attitude has ruined this area.
Loved your video - I can tell from your pics shown that we would agree on most issues! Too old to relocate from the deep south to Idaho at my age! I think the stork dropped me off in the wrong state!
Extremely well put together video. He did an excellent job gently detouring the type of people we don’t want while encouraging the type of people we do. And you navigated it professionally and smoothly. Good job!
Thank you for posting this. I currently reside with my family in OR, which is suffering from chronic progressive-ism. In our part of Washington County, rural living has some limitations. Where you live (incorporated v. unincorporated areas) comes with limitations.
Perfect comments regarding politicians, Trent! Thank you for commenting about getting training for that firearm you carry. Center Target Sports in Post Falls has some great courses and instructors in case anyone is looking for training.
I was born in eastern WA and I see there is a lot to love in ID but at my age it is just too bloody cold. I think I will have to settle for the east TX Piney Woods. But it is tempting. I loved the mountains as a youngster.
The "I would rather put a campfire out with my face and staple my nuts to a tree, then allow another Californian in Idaho" line earned yourself another subscriber young man
Your ignorant, you think everyone from California is liberal, I moved to Benewah county from north California because I'm a middle class, country, gun loving, Republican, so go staple yourself to a tree😂
@@superslyko123 Its wild to think that you're probably sitting somewhere in California right now, surrounded by homeless, breathing in toxic air. That stink sticks with you for a while, some will argue it never leaves you. But, yeah, go ahead, keeping thinking you're moving to Idaho.
Love your comments. I totally agree with what you’re saying. I used to live in Oregon until politics made it too expensive to live there. I was able to transfer to Arizona but here we see too many Californians moving here and making life difficult. My daughter and her family live in Nampa where we have visited and loved it there. Additional, we have checked out the tax rates because I am retiring soon. So for us, we’re going to move back to the better part of the Pacific Northwest!!!!!
Hello I live in Michigan right now and I'm actually thinking about moving out west. What state in the Pacific Northwest would you recommend I moved to?
@@GriffonRed , Washington and Oregon are more liberal, if that is what you are looking for. Western Washington is grey and rainy but also green and beautiful. The culture there is interesting...people are kind but more reserved. Idaho gets more snow but also more blue skies. I guess it depends what you are looking for.
If tgere is a Californicate there you have problems. They leave then bring what they left with them and we let them in and to do it to our paradise. We need a law to keep ALL Californicate s in California.
Californians (liberals) are pretty much just there in summer time but run when weather gets cold. Worley is a nice scenic place. Family has property there. I’m outdoorsman and live to hunt and fish so this is a sportsman paradise.
I lived in Idaho in the 1970s and Idaho has changed a lot, not for the better. Idaho is sort of two different states being Northern Idaho and central/southern Idaho and they are very different places.
Growth and crowding ruins anything. I used to love Redfish lake, but over the years it increase in popularity and they ended up building it up more to where my wife refuses to go there now. We stay off the beaten path and don't brag about places we like. Unfortunately other people do and have to post TH-cam videos that then draws in the crowds. For example multiple hotsprings have been ruined by publicity here.
As someone who currently lives in a rural area but in a liberal state, all of this is stuff I currently deal with. Sounds good to me! The first time we visited Bonners, the people there thought we were local lol. Can't wait to become a permanent resident!
@@herophant3648 I'm sorry things are tough for you. But I've got several friends that live in ID and they all love it. There is no place with worse laws and prices than where I'm currently living, so I can't be scared away lol.
@rayannaglazier6364 yeah, but it won't be that way for long. I'm already watching them make tbe same stupid laws here because to many people. And locals hate you because you cause inflation because you way over pay for thing's and you break the tradition.
Grew up going up to Boise in the summers for most of my younger years. My brother moved up to Idaho about 8 years ago and has been in north Idaho for several years now. I’m finally making the move myself to twin falls and I couldn’t be happier or more excited
And to clarify, I’m not liberal in any ways or bringing liberal views or voting up to Idaho. I’m relocating up there because I want to get AWAY from all that.
Thank you for the informative and transparent video on Idaho. As a native Texan we feel much the same way on all fronts. I’m hoping to spend the next few summers in Idaho and appreciate the info. Would love to hear your opinion on small towns (>10k) that have good internet.
I love my state of Texas. But me and my wife are both looking forward to retiring in Idaho. Pretty sure long drives will not affect us. Looking forward to joining the beautiful scenery and people of the gem State.
Trent, I really appreciate you warning city dwellers who want to escape to more rural states the things they probably aren't aware of before moving. I have clients in Cascade, ID who was my Vet when I had dogs. Beautiful country around McCall with plenty of times I nearly hit elk, cougar and turkeys on the rural roads. Never saw any wolverines but I did want to add that they are bigger than people think! I saw one that triggered our motion light going around the corner of our studio in Plain, WA (rural Chelan County). He was 15' away from me and I estimated he was at least 30" tall and maybe 35 lbs.! They're about the size of a mid size dog or small coyote. I didn't know what triggered the motion light until I got outside and darn near ran into him. There were fires in the mountains at the time so he probably came down to get away from the fires.
That’s wild! I didn’t know they were that big either. I’ve seen ones that were taxidermied at the fair but never in real life. Appreciate you commenting on this
@@LivingLifeNorthIdaho We have wolverines in the Enchantments out of Leavenworth (our address is Leavenworth). I never thought I'd see one on our own property but the fires brought a lot of animals down from the high country that September. We even saw a couple of Martens (on endangered list) and chased a black bear up the highway the same night. BTW, the largest wolverine was recorded at 55 lbs. but it's said that they can reach 66 lbs.! They can take down an elk or caribou so that shows how much strength they have. 😉
Dude love the video! Me and my mom are hoping to move to the Rathdrum area near some family within the next year or 2. She was raised in Ohio but I've lived my whole life in Florida, so it will be a bit of a welcome adjustment for me lol. This channel seems perfect for preparing!
I get this video is directed towards Americans wanting to move to Idaho... but as a Canadian family planning to visit Idaho in a few months, there was a LOT of great takeaway information here that a visitor can also use. Many tourists want to avoid the urban dumpsters like Seattle and Portland for the very same reason people are leaving those cities, as well as visiting a state where we probably fit closer with the general mindset. We passed through the state 5 years ago in a rush, spent only parts of three days, but impressed how safe and clean Boise was was, as well as some other smaller communities we passed through and stopped. We regretted back then under-estimating just how awesome Idaho is and not giving it more time in our trip itinerary. Anyways we are looking forward to spending a couple weeks exploring the length of the state and all it has to offer. Thanks again for these interesting clips.
Nice.. Idaho is awesome, hardy, tough, rugged ppl., Marica! You speak your mind, I like it, and gives me a pretty good picture of why Idaho is awesome.
It is if you’re a Christian white supremacist , isolationist. Idaho just approved a very restrictive abortion law! In contrast Alaska has all the aforementioned game animals, plus many more! As well as fish, shellfish, without the insane zealotry and hate that Idahoan’s
Great video. He’s spot on about the winter. I’ve had several neighbors move here from mild climate states, and are severely underprepared to deal with what winter brings. Plan on being up an extra hour before work and another hour when you get home to manage snow. It’s not everyday, but a good 3-4 day storm will kick you in the teeth if you don’t stay on top of it. I would say CDA has a lot of normal everyday people, and a good dose of artsy people. We have some ugly paintings and art around the city that I guess someone thought was nice, but it’s just abstract and weird. Our schools are pretty good. My daughter is a teacher. I question her frequently about curriculum and to see if what I am seeing on the news around the country is happening here. It is not. Our teachers are still focused on education and not anything more. Could there be a couple rogue teachers out there? Sure. But the majority are good people. I think people also need to be aware of racism here. It has gotten way better over the years, but I have on several occasions had leaflets left on my doorstep as these groups canvas a neighborhood. You might see 2-3 people protesting / advertising for these groups on a street corner. It’s an ugly part of the history here, but it is a very small group of people holding on to this ideology. I raised my family here, and I’ll continue to see my grandkids raised here.
I think that you are in one of the best spots and you showcase it well. I wonder how many people hear the segment on wild animals and that becomes the show-stopper on them moving? I live in very remote central Utah--a mountain lion hangs out on my summer home neighbor's porch and we have most everything, but in 20 years I have not been bothered by them other than in the garden. Once you live rural, you will not go back--living in a city or even a town is unthinkable to me now.
Oh this comment made me laugh outright because what a UniParty we have today right? What a disappointment for men and women who call themselves leaders. Who would have ever thought there would be even a term such as Rhino. They truly vote for their own wealth and prosperity not for the people
Really good video with solid information, thank you for all the hard work you put in making these. I grew up in Washington and long to come back to that scenery. The best memories I have is traveling through Idaho on the way to Yellowstone, picking rainier cherries was also beautiful
We almost moved there a year ago. We watched your videos and we went there and looked at places. Cool place. We saw a bull moose with in the first 24 hours. Saw some decent bucks while looking for a house. Lol. I was ready to move. It didn’t work out. We ended up in Washington near Portland so I didn’t actually get away from it as much as I wanted. We are on 23 wooded acres in a log house. Off a nice river. It’s nice but Idaho will always be the girl that got away. Idaho was perfect for me. Our house in Idaho would probably be about 2.5 million there. Much cheaper here but we are dealing with nonsense that I don’t want to deal with. Still want to come there or Montana, Wyoming.
If you move, just dont change what Idaho is, and try to blend as best you can, most folks are friendly to fellow idahoans, and very abrasive to outsiders
Sounds good to me, how do the North Idaho people feel about people from Alberta? We are a conservative province and many of us have values that directly align with yours. We have been visiting north Idaho for a long time and are thinking to move
Trent I am going on a gut feeling like your dealing with something in you're life unless someone has said something too you??? I don't I just got a vibe from this video but I could be wrong I hope you're doing great happy healthy and enjoy your evening!! Take care of yourself and your family
Good instincts @johnfullmer7659. I have to redo a hip surgery I had done last year and possible surgery on the disks in my low back. I’ve been doing weekly Chiro, massage, and dry needling but getting little relief from the constant pain in my back and hips. Appreciate you noticing. Other than that life is beautiful and we’re doing great.
@@LivingLifeNorthIdaho yikes! That is so scary. I will pray for a complete recovery I have to tell you after many decades of my husband being injured as a peace officer and two back surgeries he would advise younger self different with things we know now. Pain is a giant motivator and it’s a road most don’t understand at all. After his last “so called, clean up surgery” he won’t let them touch his back ever again. Like all things in life, one thing gets solved and another starts to happen. I am so amazed by Dr. Joe Dispenza story of healing because the surgery he explains he should have had is what my husband did have. I pray you do the minimum needed. Definitely seek alternative sources which sounds like you already are doing. You on the outside are like my husband. Physically fit and thin, everywhere we went there was a strange feeling that his pain must be made up. It’s a painful journey even with people who are in your inner circle
Even Lewiston can be a storm nightmare. And yes, my gas went from $500 a month in California to about $1200 a month in Washington. Everything is more expensive except for the house itself. We don’t pay the water bill, but I can assure you we pay a well Bill and it is a lot more than a water bill. Some thing is always breaking down and the minimum service charge for a repairman is it about $250 and that doesn’t count the service itself that’s just for the drive out here.
Hey, Trent! Could you do a video on what extreme weather realistically looks like up there? Specifically, how big of a threat are wildfires, how often do you get snow/ice that's unsafe to drive in, etc.? What are the best ways to minimize the danger?
Hi @krystiepfister760 that’s a great idea. Right now we’re dealing with some forest fires that are closer than they have been in many years. Which feels a little odd since we just had a week of rain two weeks ago. I planned on doing one about forest fires and an amazing strategy a guy is using in Utah that prevents them from becoming uncontrollable. But doing one on the weather could be good too. Hope you and your family are doing well.
I want to second this motion. I get the impression that a lot of the videos with advice on what to expect in Idaho are typically aimed at Californians. I have seen some stats on weather and compared them and honestly I think the numbers must be very misleading because an average winter in most of north Idaho appears (on paper) very similar to one in western WA. I really doubt that it's within 5-10 degrees and a tad more sun that western WA. yet I also see that despite these numbers average snowfall is roughly 12"-18" in Dec. for example, when in Seattle it's only around 6-8" for the whole month. I also see comments from Idahoans talking about 5 months of snow, and statistically that looks to be true but I imagine that's probably a 1/2" dusting one night in May or Sept., not consistent winter weather for 5 months straight. I would love for someone that knows, like you Trent, to set the record straight either way though.
Snow and ice can be a localized sensation. CDA gets about 3-4 months of snow and ice, while priest lake gets 7 months of snow and ice, all based on elevation and sunlight
I moved to CDA 3 years ago from So Cal. I had to escape after living there almost 40 years. It's absolutely wonderful here. I grew up in the midwest where the winters are much worse than here. Anyone thinking of relocating here from an area without the four seasons should expect snow & cold but honestly, I expected worse. It's more moderate than most midwest winters. Of course there will be really bad winters & storms occasionally, but it's nice to have snow during Xmas. It just fits. If you live in the area and wish to get your city fix, you can drive over to Spokane. It's not that far. There are a few things I miss up here, like availability of certain items, but my needs aren't like most so it's not worth going into. For me, living in So Cal meant driving A LOT. I drive much less up here. It's just something you adjust to. Trent is right about the people and the place. To me it's a breath of fresh air. The only thing you have to adjust to is the fact that it gets dark earlier in the daytime during the winters since we're so far north. It also get light earlier in the morning during summer. If you need to escape to a place where sanity is still on the menu, you may like it here. I love it!
Do they use salt on the roads for the snow/ice? Just wondering if it's the same as the midwest where cars rot out from rust caused by all of the salt they slather on the roads
In Iowa, it can be -10 degrees for 30 days. We only have single digits for a few weeks and rarely gets below 0 for any length of time. After not living in winter for over 40 years, I was pleasantly surprised! @@mynorthidaholife
I can confirm that my vacation stay was 10 miles from the nearest restaurant in Driggs, over sometimes dirt roads. If your car sometimes flashes alarms like 'Keep hands on wheels', it can be unnerving
I was born and raised in L.A. I am a true conservative and think-for-myself person. Obviously, a rare spicy out here. Idaho is definitely my type of people, and I've always wanted to live in the country. Although I am 65, thank God I have taken good care of myself and attended the gym all my adult life. I will tell you, it certainly is paying off as my body ages. I can work out like many of these 20-somethings. I just don't know about those winters. Hum Many Blessings🦋
And no black people too!! So white heaven in Idaho!! What are crazy laws? Idaho has no crazy laws. Go figure. Will tolerate Hispanics and Asians if there not black looking. If they look white their good to go!! Morals and values in Idaho. Not in the black race. So go to Idaho. White right guns and church. Can black folks buy land in Idaho? Much better politics? What does that mean? Meaning no Democrats. Just Republicans! A one party state. White folks are welcome with open arms. Black people don't bother.
I live in Colorado and follow a few realtors, very refreshing, how honest about every single subject from the wildlife, to the responsibility to the political views! Very honest about moving to Idaho. I’m not really moving I just like to learn and maybe go to.??
I loved living in Idaho! to be exact, I lived in the town of Kamiah. Kamiah, is a very small town but we lived up on the mountain and yes, we had all the wildlife up there!! But we never had a very pretty garden due to the deer!! They ate everything except the trees!!! We did had a very large vegie patch also, which we shared with the deer and any other critter who wandered into our garden!!! Some years, we didn.t have much to can but we servived! I learned to gather most of the vegies before they were ripe thus avoiding the deer takeover! It meant we had vegies ripening in the garage, kitchen and anywhere else that the deer cc=ould not get into!!! Yes, we put up 8 foot fences and some things we put up 10 foot fences but the deer always found a way to get to them! Thus was my life in Idaho!!! Due to my age and death of my husband, I gave in to living with my sister in Michigan, Which is nothing but a huge city and I hate it!! So to help others who might have great expectations about moving to Idaho, I highly recommend the move!!!
I'm looking to retire out west. I was thinking about Colorado, Idaho, or Utah. After watching your video, I'm quite sure I'd be a better fit for Idaho.
@good_golly_ms._mollie sounds like you may have to come visit soon. Make sure you reach out when you do. (208)907-5757 thanks for watching and commenting.
I’ve lived in Texas my whole life but now my family and I are ready for something new and really considering Idaho since our values are really similar.
Yeah one thing they don't tell you is I visited my sister in Idaho for a week and I had to do a 600-mile round trip to be able to go to dialysis three times a week because they have no clinics in the area where she lives so that means if you need dialysis or anything like that you have to live in certain areas or you're screwed
Wow, every thing that you mention that can be a difficult surprise to some, sound like refreshing delight to me. Especially storms. Storms are awesome, challenges are fun!! Even black ice is a challenge to overcome, not a terror. Clearing dead fall is fun but also important for bark beetle control (in addition to fire safety). Hmm... Idaho is definitely on my short list of ideal places to live in USA.
Hunted whitetail in Idaho as a retirement ingredient from Washington state law enforcement, and loved the area! St. MARIES Was an Awesome area... wish I discovered it twenty years ago. M.
State minimum wage in Idaho is approximation one half of the minimum wages paid in Oregon, Washington, California, etc. It does you no good to move to Idaho if you cannot feed your family, find affordable housing etc. Finances are important to the well being of your family. Student loans, care loans, credit debt, etc., will follow you to your new home so be sure to learn if you can afford to live in this state.
Good stuff and well presented! Now I'm binging on your videos! One suggested edit re: firearms. A lot of folks like to open carry and newcomers have been known to "freak out" a tad when they see that. Be forewarned!
We moved from North Phoenix to north Idaho about 5 years ago. Best thing we ever did. We are in the woods a little higher up than the “city”. Starlink is great. Luckily we aren’t too far off the freeway so stores are within 20 min. People are nice but the hate is real for newcomers. Especially people from CA. To be fair though, I understand why they are upset, since their own kids that were raised in this beautiful place are now priced out of being able to buy a place in their own hometown. Which is sad. The prices for real estate here almost doubled since 2020.
Ran into a wolverine up on one of the Roman Nose lakes ( The lake with California Golden Trout ) I ran about a 1/4 mile before the thing gave up. I was 19 then. Now that I'm 61 probly wouldn't have made it! LOL
I think it’s a thing that all states are going to to align with travel, immigration and residency requirements. It seems intrusive but it’s also adds another layer of security in the long run. Really the only extra private information you have to give up are your birth certificate and proof of address, which big brother has anyway.
@@rbrew I would agree with this on an International travel (Passport) but for intercontinental travel and for being able to leave your state not so much. I think Big brother has enough, more than enough. I would agree that with wide open boarders that maybe having a passport is key for showing proper ID. Anyone that is a citizen would have an approved ID.
@@kevmonty1 agreed, there is a lot of overlap on regulations and overkill on requirements anyway. I can see it being useful if it’s implemented to a good use, such as voting registration, etc, but it’s doubtful.
i’ve lived in oregon in the willamette valley my whole life. i love oregon, it’s my home, it’s beautiful, and it’s very versatile when it comes to climate and scenery. unfortunately though it’s just too expensive, difficult to own land, and other peoples beliefs have spread like a virus. even if you were to try to have an open minded conversation with someone who believed differently they most likely will tell u that you’re wrong for believing differently than them. i’m not a city person but being young and still figuring life out i’ll be moving to boise in a year or two and then hopefully buy property up north with my partner.
Frankly rural is not the only situation where increased mileage happens. SoCal is another. I was often driving an hour or more every day. And for the time I was employed in San Diego and living in chino, it was more like 2 hours.
9:07 Inset video top/right...that's still one of my most favorite videos ever! 🤣🤣 Anyway, I don't plan on moving to Idaho, but I AM planning a vacation there because I want to drive through the state and enjoy some peace and quiet. I'm looking forward to the mountains, streams, etc.
Thanks @TravisTravels! I bought the new InstaMic Pro. They’re a startup but they make a super great product. In addition to the equipment I use adobe podcast beta ai and some additional tuning
How does an Idaho winter compare to Wyoming or Colorado? Went to school in Laramie and lived about a year and a half in Pueblo, so a little familiar with high plains weather
I have 2 trees on my property about 20' from my dogs' fenced yard that cougars have used as their scratching posts. I've periodically found parts of deer carcasses on my property. I live in a small mountain town of around 275 people & no police dept. Our county has 10 deputy sheriffs if needed, plan on about an hr. response time, i.e., be self dependent. AND, don't try to change our life style!
A place for outdoorsman, yet all you talked about was the urban luxury. I assume you are a weekend warrior when it come to the outdoors.
None of this is true, please don't come here .....oops I mean don't go there.
😆😆😆
Cedars is cool...when I was there 35 years ago! I'm sure its still the same. But dude...it doesn't seem like you know about the outdoors much! Think about a moose rushing you! Think about a black bear creeping up on your camping area. HAHA fresh sushi in an are not near the ocean!?!? You crazy! We got good trout and venison though! Get your ass out of luxury and enjoy the outdoors if you come close to the Ho! WA State is great too!
I suppose lake, rivers, streams, parks, mountains, and forest are no longer considered the outdoors... Lames.
We Europeans grow up and associate the US with cities like LA and New York, but to me, states like Idaho are the real America. Idaho, Montana, Wyoming...such beautiful scenery.
once you become educated on all of the USA, you understand how incredible it is
Every home needs a toilet. LA, and NY are ours.
Not really its more like new york or la. To live here you have to make a lot of money. If not your trash.
@@keylightsystems "Real" Americans respect America's founding principles so that excludes the average person from NY or LA (speaking of trash lol).
this is true. but that most america is trash that is also true. architecture in america is nothing like europe or china for that matter, america spends too much money on wars and not enough on infrastructure. but there are some beautiful city's with pleasant architecture in america. cour d alene is one of them. ny and la where once great citys but they are so filthy and crime ridden now days but that is also true about london and brussels the infrastructure in those american citys was always kind of ugly though. im sure in some ways its not as bad but i still would not want to live in any of those citys. i think its a bigger shame that citys like berlin, london and brussels are being ruined though. they where always much more beautiful and have a richer history.

Look at it today. There is a 417 air index and closed the highway to Spokane. Ya, it's a massive problem every year.
This reality will only increase as more humans move here.
The salvage tiber act did not help this fire behaviorv either.
There are millions of board ft of timber the timber idustry never had access to on public lands.
Prior to the supposedly natural forest fires that light up like clock work annually.
Hope you have TONS of money.
Would rather be in Alaska than Idaho. Idaho has become full and liberal.
Thank you for the feedback and I'm glad you are enjoying my videos.
Noooo!!! Don’t let Newsome destroy your state like he did to California!!!
Lots of deep woods he could get lost in. Keep your hopes up.
If he moves into Lewiston it is a blue city. I have relatives there.
You are so right, people move from Kalifornia because of assholes like Newsome.
Also, thank you for your service, Mr. Bradley! 🇺🇲🤝🇺🇸🫡💜
I was hopping to retire in Idaho, But not any more. The explosion of people of moving from other states has put the housing market and property out of reach. I'm having to rethink my retirement option's.

This video should be titled living rural - things they don't tell you about. Some points apply just as much to rural California or Colorado as Idaho
You are welcome! Enjoy your trip.

Best video I have seen today….. “just know that every politician is from the same roll of toilet paper”…. 🙌

Your where you belong stay there
If you move, just dont change what Idaho is, and try to blend as best you can, most folks are friendly to fellow idahoans, and very abrasive to outsiders
Yes the majority of idahoans are very friendly very kind but there is that small percentage that live in the 60's. I've heard the "N" word.

Was shocked to hear the name Whirly. lol Love that part of the state. Hope to move back up there someday.
Yes please. 👍🏻👍🏻
Snow and ice can be a localized sensation. CDA gets about 3-4 months of snow and ice, while priest lake gets 7 months of snow and ice, all based on elevation and sunlight
@@Northwoods208 Thank you.
I think they might use minimal amounts but I also think they use a different de-icing substance.@@Deetroiter
Definitely not the same rust problem as the Midwest. @@Deetroiter

Thanks for the balanced views of Idaho!
Nothing you mentioned sound unappealing! In fact, it's only convincing me more that Idaho is a good fit for my family!! Thanks!
I lived in North Idaho for 15 years never saw a wolverine and I lived on a country road always had it plowed
God, guns, and liberty - I pray that Idaho is in my future. Thanks for a great video.
I’ve lived in Texas my whole life but now my family and I are ready for something new and really considering Idaho since our values are really similar.
Great video. Seriously thinking about relocating from Indiana.
I'm suck here in Southern Oregon, and sadly I don't believe the part of Oregon I live will ever join the Greater Idaho. 😢
Well be spending a year in Idaho as an exchange student! Cannot wait but a little bit scared from the wilderness haha
I was born in Sandpoint in 1952 grew up in Naples and Bonners Ferry, sure has changed alot
Where was the nearest place for it?

Great video!
I live on lake CDA out of worley ( cave bay) in 97. I had no power for 3 weeks.
Hunted whitetail in Idaho as a retirement ingredient from Washington state law enforcement, and loved the area! St. MARIES Was an Awesome area... wish I discovered it twenty years ago. M.
New sub. Informative.
Thank you
Been looking at idaho for a long time brilliant footage
Great video Trent!
Ok then stay away for Idaho then 😂
Fewer laws = greater individual Liberty!
Starlink mobile can be used anywhere. just have to have clear space to set up.
Great info. Thank you!
Im in Alberta. Lived on my farm all my life. I am looking at moving to either Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, or the Dakota's
There are in Grizzlies in Idaho, up at Priest Lake, Bonner Ferry, etc.
great video as always
Good stuff and well presented! Now I'm binging on your videos! One suggested edit re: firearms. A lot of folks like to open carry and newcomers have been known to "freak out" a tad when they see that. Be forewarned!
Very informative. I'm moving there.
i live in idaho and it is absolutly beautiful in the fall down in swan valley
LOL
That would be horrifying! Glad you made it.
I was disappointed to see that you guys are implementing the Star ID. How are your people feeling about that?
@@rbrew C'mon bro I'm sure you are smart enough to know it WONT be implemented in a good use.
I just have 4 Letters for you: CBDC.

i’ve lived in oregon in the willamette valley my whole life. i love oregon, it’s my home, it’s beautiful, and it’s very versatile when it comes to climate and scenery. unfortunately though it’s just too expensive, difficult to own land, and other peoples beliefs have spread like a virus. even if you were to try to have an open minded conversation with someone who believed differently they most likely will tell u that you’re wrong for believing differently than them. i’m not a city person but being young and still figuring life out i’ll be moving to boise in a year or two and then hopefully buy property up north with my partner.
I ran into a rattlesnake on Boise park trails twice this summer. Crazy.
Thsi sounds exactly like Maine just a little bit less rural. Definitely looking forward to making the move.
Frankly rural is not the only situation where increased mileage happens.
SoCal is another. I was often driving an hour or more every day.
And for the time I was employed in San Diego and living in chino, it was more like 2 hours.
I love everything you said.
I live in rural north Idaho but work in Washington. The wages are very low here.
What mic are you using? The quality sounds great!
