Honestly I thought skyjay had riddles number since he struggles with incin, but man that adaptation was nuts. Close set between both of them, they both did amazing 👏
@@fishwoz17 I think that is honestly the difference between great players and the very best players. Players like Mkleo, light and riddles don't panic as much when things get down to the wire like this. Skyjay had him off stage at 100%, something he has been doing constantly and he flubbed it at the very end.
Skyjay kept calling out all of Riddles' attempts to approach and to return to stage; Riddles was going for a lot of Crackshoots back on and was being conditioned to shield, allowing for Skyjay to get a lot of landing side b's. However, Riddles caught on to the amount of vulnerability Incineroar has after whiffing a side B or a counter, so when he punished them, he made those punishes *count*. It's an interesting dynamic between Terry and Incineroar because both get huge amounts of damage and ridiculous punishes that often kill; Terry gets his through massive combos, while Incineroar gets them off of strong tilts/command grabs after a bit of conditioning.
@@ItsNothingPersonal32 yeah and you almost never see these combos when riddles plays other top players because he either chooses lower percent safe options or has GO to work with. It almost felt like the match was decided in the end by who had the bigger and most flashy punish
@@JohnDoe-id5ih it's towards any characters whose avg matches 4+ minutes. At that point, it's almost always 6 minutes minimum. Sonic, Olimar, Rosalina, characters who don't want to approach you, even if they can.
The fact that Riddles wasn’t able to use GO ONCE in that whole set and still made that insane final comeback is mind blowing, he is seriously goated. Both played amazing 👏
Riddles played really bad game one, crack shoot across the stage, rolling on ledge most of the time, he was just asking to get command grabbed and revenged. Good thing he adapted.
Skyjay was reading him so well throughout the entire set. Riddles just took it out from under him with good kill confirm options. Definitely a deserved win but Riddles gotta clean up those ledge options and neutral initations.
Insane commentary. You can really see Riddles on the last stock getting pissed at the constant side b/counters. Dude focused up, started playing patient and waiting for whiff punishes, and after getting double up air rising tackle, Riddles was just ready to win it
Incineroar has all the tools of a top tier. Insane kill power, solid frame data, big hitboxes, massive damage output, a counter that also acts as a huge buff(revenge is some dlc privilege type shit), great aerials, grounded moves, and kill confirms. If he was fast enough to run character down he'd be a top 20 character easily, even with the subpar recovery(aegis recovery is only slightly better).
As an Incin main I am beyond happy to see Skyjay go up to this level of competitive play. I just wish he would slow down when he’s in advantage and not spam special moves. Otherwise incredible set.
I see nothing wrong with his comment why are guys attacking him. What he's said is absolutely true, all pros have their habits nobody is perfect we all need to improve our neutral. Skyjay is know to be aggressive and always taking risk which is a double edge sword.
Skyjay is incredible. Love watching him play. However, I was disappointed how he stopped being aggressive in the last game. He had a few empty hop revenge attempts at a clearly terrified, shielding Terry. Gotta play more aggressively. It was working the entire set, so I don't know why he changed.
I love fights like this. When two titans are equally matched and just go at it in battle. I didn’t give up on Riddles even when he was losing game 5. I was like “He’s got this”. Sure enough! That was the best matchup I’ve ever seen. I hope to see these two go fight again soon.
this was the most explosive fight in recent months, Skyjay's way of stretching his advantage was brutal, but Ridles is an expert in flipping sets, I would even pay to see a rematch xd
@@Nyangorou1 That's weird then, idk what skyjay was doing. holding straight up or something? Odd. Or are you talking about him DI'ing out of the downthrow-upair?
Yeah, he can, and it wasn't bad DI. It was just a matter of him being so high up when it connected and small battlefield having a relatively low blastzone.
What an ending, Terry's down air has so little ending lag, so he can get a nair almost immediately and getting a soft nair at that percentage, he can get whatever follow up he wants, so riddles went for a down air spike The down throw> up air>up air xx charged rising tackle was amazing as well

Man I swear incineroar is so damn scary, skyjay optimises the character so well.

Those buffs helped a lot

It was like seeing kola and riddles smash. So damn explosive and entertaining xD
Skyjay had so much spaghetti that game! He really fell apart. You can't give great players like Riddles any openings. Still a great set.

The airdodge to get through the revenge on last stock was so good
That option literally won him the game. And the entire set.
“Are you okay? Buster Wolf 🤜🏼🔥!!”
- Terry B.
To think of it, these matches are so fast paced, Riddles didn't do a single buster wolf
What a comeback! Nerves of steel
