So happy with mine. Favorite bike I've ever had, and I've had 11 bikes. They seem to be slept on here in the States or unknown. I had to look it up when I saw it for sale online. Comfy, sporty enough, fast enough, and timeless design. Enjoy! I'll be looking for pics on your insta!
Decided to ride a 2007 Spirit yesterday with 11k on the clock. Something was not right with it. Seemed down on power. Had a little midrange punch but faded oh so fast. Felt like a 600. Im guessing it needed a proper tune with an ecu flash. I did however like the way it handled and the comfort. However, and this isn't fair, it's hard coming off my MT10 and riding the Spirit. There's just no comparison. I new this going in. I'm considering getting a second bike. The search continues.
Definitely something not right with that one. Mine pulled and pulled. Not sportsbike pull, like a juggernaut, no fade at all. Very comparable to a Super Blackbird Honda. Just felt strong everywhere. Not worth buying a bike that feels like that if it’s for sale. If a seller can’t be bothered servicing a bike for selling there’s no way it was looked after well enough beforehand. These bikes need looking after to get the best from them. Good luck in the search.
@@TheRiderGuider That's kind of what I figured as far as performance goes. I will continue to look for a well maintained example. I need to ride a Sprint that has been well cared for.
I was very keen on those when they first came out, in about 2005, unfortunately they were too pricy for me. I ended up buying an ex demo Suzuki SV1000SZ. Now I’m on a Tiger 800, and have to agree with you about how great the Triumph triples are.
I wonder how it will compare to the German giant? Almost bought a 2008 1050 a few years back from a chap at work but i found i was on tip toes with it at a stand still so let it pass. I've just realised that i have never test ridden any of my bikes before buying them, not even the one I had brand new, which i still have, mind you I was in plaster and on crutches when i bought that! Look forward to your proper review.
I bought a 10 plate wiv 10,000 miles on it at the end of feb...managed 600ish miles before Corona 😥 i love it and cant wait to get out on it and use it properly. Iv come from zx9's and fireblades and let me tell you..its no slouch 😎
Took a test drive on one the other day. 2007 with 32k on the clock and like you, 10 in the last 7 years. Nice bike but when I stopped it to get a better look it didn't start. Not sure if it's the r/r or just a shoddy battery. It's been on a trickle charge but didn't move for months. 50/50 on whether or not to go for it
md20120 still loving mine mate, had no issues however what you’re describing is very often the common issue of the r/r like you say, if you’re on Facebook there’s a brilliant page Triumph ST1050 Sprint there’s a lad on there nicknamed ‘pudding’ and he makes superb upgraded battery cables. New RR and them battery cables probably the first upgrade anyone should do. I’m not a fan of FB but that group is a shining light on the platform. Get that upgrade and you’ll be sorted I reckon.
Also consider dating the tyres, if it’s been stood for a while even if the tyres have plenty of tread, check the manufacture date (there’ll be a code on the sidewalls) if over four years old they need replacing. Mine were visibly okay but had no grip. $500 Oz $. a pair of Michelin Road 5
@@TheRiderGuider cheers for getting back to me. Never thought about the tyres, good shout. Not on FB, hate seeing photos of people's dinner 😃. Take it easy
Yeh it was ridiculously clean. Should really have been in his lounge! It didn’t last tbh. I rode it everyday and despite my best efforts it wasn’t going to stay as nice as it was. Still nice, but used.
Hippo-Drones Gday mate, this weekend will be telling. So far so good re our general figures however people are thick and I’m expecting a hike after the Easter weekend because it appears people are going to be ignoring the rules. We’ll see. Recreational riding isn’t banned legally but frowned upon. I’m commuting 😃 Keep safe 👍🏼
How much did you pay for the sprint if you don't mind me asking ? I am heading to Sydney today to look at a 2008 model but with close to 86ks for $3k. Missed out on quite a few ST and GTs but definitely taking a chance this time
Hi mate, thnx for the sub :-) I paid $7300 which wasn't cheap but it's a low km 16700 when I got it. Also ..... private or dealership? I’ve learned a lot about these ST’s in my short time of ownership. There are some decent upgrades available. Stick a link up on here if you want 👍🏼
bikerrout Think I’m on it! I joined one group a couple of weeks ago to show how lucky I was to get such a nice example and some bloke took the wind out of my sales by telling me what was likely wrong with it for being stood for a while. Negatoid. So I immediately jumped ship and am on the one you mention (I think?) where it’s all positive piss taking and good vibes and advice ☺️👍🏼

CHEERS for watching mate, I'll be doing a ride/review on it soon. I am certainly starting to enjoy it, quirks and all :-)
Unusual to see a moto vlogger on local Adelaide roads!
I love my Sprint, had her from new 2009 model, 133bhp.
Great review mate.

Mines 2009 but with 123 bhp, you modified yours?

What’s the Bluetooth intercom thingy ?...sounds interesting
You mean the plastic bracket on the top yolk? That's a TomTom mount, now removed.
I love it. I’m jealous actually.
@WEB Shhhh. My wife would kill me. I will be keeping my bike for another year or so mate. Thanks though. I like the Tiger.
