    I bought the Innova 5610 to shop used cars for my son before I saw this video. I paid over $300, but it is still worth it for all it alerts you to when inspecting pre-owned cars, and it's capabilities as explained in the video. The 120+ page manual is through, and easy to understand. Detailed descriptions are given of systems, computer modules and requirements that need to be met in order to be completely trouble free again. The buttons are minimal, well labeled, and navigating through the menus is easy, too.

    After getting scammed by FIXD, I went with the Blue Driver.
    While FIXD was OK, they suckered me into a $100 per year subscription, that I promptly requested a refund.
    I got the Blue Driver from Amazon, for $89, so that wasn't a bad deal at all.

      @@gillisBR549 The really sad part about the FIXD scanner, is that it's a good tool as well, and I'd have paid the $60 per year subscription for the service.
      But what made me mad, was that they put their $59 scanner on sale, for $20, then duped me into the same service, for $99!
      If they hadn't been so greedy, I would have been a happy customer, and they'd have been able to keep their $60...

    There are some great OBD2 devices. But if you are not an actual mechanic, many of the features shouldn't be messed with. If you are just a plain ole Owner. Having the ability to scan an engine code so that you can have a reasonable discussion with the mechanic is the best starting point. Advanced engine and diagnostic looking into may be fun for the DYI person, but the fact is, YOU ARE NOT A MECHANIC. So messing around with the engine features is not a smart thing to do if you aren't trained as a mechanic.
    Sure, there are lots of smart individuals out there who can do vehicle diagnostics but the gross majority of people aren't talented and can do massive harm to the Engine Settings thinking they are boosting performance.

    New 2023 XTool D7 can be had for about same price (when on sale) as Innova 5610 and can do way more things.

    • @alfaralph7710
      @alfaralph7710 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      XTool D7 costs $130 more and only offers 3 years update while the Innova 5610 offers lifetime updates. Unless you're a mechanic which will fully use the XTool D7 everyday for 3 years to make more than $130, otherwise the it's not worth the price to pay for few extra options.

      Xtool A30 is a bluetooth adapter that uses an app on your phone. It has bidirectional controls on all systems and is lifetime update for $130. A30M just has more special functions but is around $200.

      @@michaelmckinney1409 I would never buy a car scanning tool that relies on my phone and even worse my phone's bluetooth to work. If there is a problem, the blame could be 50% on my phone which I never intended to use it to share a manufacturer responsibility to make a device work. I also never had any wireless device(from infra-red to bluetooth and wifi) which is satisfying. Even high end wireless products have connectivity problems since the connection also depends on the device receiving the signal. Wires connections are more stable and reliable.

      @@alfaralph7710 I didn't say I would rely on it alone but this is about bang for the buck. I have been a technician since 1987 and am an ASE master as well as a GM master and have well over 300 GM certifications. I have 5 scan tools including a GM Tech2. I program and offer diagnostic assistance and carry 4 laptops with varying operating systems and capabilities. I have a phone dedicated to 2 scan tools one of which is the A30. I have had Snap On scanners give erroneous information and my Launch and this A30 read correctly. Don't be a scan tool snob.

      Mitchell Prodemand / DirectHit Identifix / Alldata (worst one tho) or just googling a specific vehicle can yield results. Some car dealership can be nice enough to give em to you
