    My Ully was named PlaymoBuell! :-)
    +45.000 miles, never skipped a beat. Lowered -35mm Hyperpro progressive springs, K&N filter, drummer exhaust with proper ECM. And he was an '06 Barricade Orange one. Still miss him to this day!

    I have an '07 with 15000 km. I love the suspension and the ride. The seat feels hard as a rock, yet I like it more for long rides than my BMWs or Motto Guzzi. The only problem is a bad ground I have yet to find that is causing an intermittent stumble in the engine.

      Check the grounds on the subframe and the crimps on the battery terminals themselves. Also sand the actual subframe where it attaches to the frame for better ground.

    I miss my Buell. 07 XB12 SS LL. Mine had a drummer, I found out the gent that did the drummers was local, met him, nice fella and had a Buell collection that made me drool. I've been debating on getting one like this for many years, but it all comes back to parts. Yes, yes I know most harley parts will fit, so I may still get another.

    I got 23 k on mine. My 15th bike. My second favorite. After my pan head that I only ride 5 times a year

    Good deal. Love whats going on on your Buell. I've got a 2006 (DEC production) runs great. thanks for sharing your mods. Cant say Ive had the same luck with no service issues, but it's still worth it. Can't beat the bang for the buck.I'll add an FJR1300 to my inventory some day. But Im good for now.

    just bought an eleven thousand mile example of the xb12x. (in part due to your video). wohoo as for the ride and thanks for the information regarding the xb12s fender, it looks really sharp and I'm replacing mine with one just like it just as soon as I get done riding the fire roads. and as for carving canyons, wohoo again. Guess that short wheelbase, (15.5" shorter then my Road Glide), does make a difference

    Glad you're still enjoying it. Think of getting a belt tensioner, though. They run too tight and stress the gearbox output shaft bearings, and if they go (and they do sometimes), it's engine out time. The belts last longer too. And the rear wheel bearings.

    • @TheWorst-
      @TheWorst- 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nick M Do you suggest any particular tensioner? I`m just rolling over 40,000 miles on mine and did the rear bearings a few weeks ago.

    Buddy of mine also has an '06 XB12X w/ 17k on the clock. A lot of why he loves it is because it has a decent sized cockpit in contrast to the cramped feel of Japanese bikes for taller riders. I'll be giving it a test ride in the spring.
    Could you be persuaded to do a video on negotiating the purchase of a bike? :)

    • @1990-t1j
      @1990-t1j 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +gingahippy No, but I went to the bike from a KTM 950 Adventure, and I almost fell of that the first time I turned into my driveway, as you couldn't turn the bars as far as I could the bike I'd had before.

      +Nick M Rock solid with over 40k miles on it. All I've done besides oil changes are, new battery at 30k, new Iridium plugs at 25k, forks rebuilt at 25k and I'm replacing the fork seals again now at 40k, and a battery. It's the most dependable of all my bikes. Go Buell!!

    • @1990-t1j
      @1990-t1j 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Impressed. No broken drive belts? Mine went at 12K miles. Apart from a rear wheel bearing, that's been it. Needs a battery now because it's been standing a while. It's only done just shy of 20K, though. The most underrated bikes on the planet. I love it.

    • @break-a-way7685
      @break-a-way7685 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love the Buell Ulysses, and I'm in the market for another one! I'm wishing I had never gotten rid of mine. You are definitely right, this is one of the most underrated bikes ever! The 1200 cc Evo style Sportster engine is a proven reliable engine that has logged more miles than any rice burner other than a Goldwing! It's a real shame that Buell was shut down years ago. I thought Polaris would be the next company to come out with an American-made adventure bike but now that they put all their eggs in the heavy V-Twin Cruiser Market with Indian it doesn't look like we're going to ever get another American-made adventure bike!

    What is your seat height? It sounded like you quoted higher than what shows in the specifications for the bike? I'm 6'4" and 35" inseam so I wonder if I'm too tall for one?
