I love your wonderful book. I think that working on several pages at the same time and using only three colours indeed contribute to harmonising the pages. Very inspiring.
I took sandpaper to the hatd edges of my new brayer. I also see that light pressure is important to avoid hard edges. Also, I did multiple layers of clear medium and let the brayer dry. That also worked to get softer edges. I hope it helps someone.
I got tired of cleaning my brayer, so I bought two more, different sizes - not all at once, since even at a discount art store they’re a little expensive. Now I always have a clean brayer and I’m free to focus on enjoying the process.
Amazing tips that I have never seen before! I hope you will do a flip through of your book. I want to see every page. Thanks for sharing your art! Lisa
Great video - very helpful 😊. A question about adding the matte medium - does that make the paint more transparent? And, if so, would that be best used as you get to the later stages of layering? Thank you for sharing your technique!
Yes, matte medium makes the paint more transparent. You can use it at any stage. Sometimes I use it in the initial layers to make some very light colors so everything isn’t so intense right from the beginning.
I really enjoyed watching this vidéo. As soon finished watching I wanted to have fun with this way of printing. (So did the vidéo of the one page minibook, made 2 of those so far). Will you make a video of how the book is made? Did you cut , glue, stitch?
Hi Heather! Thank you for sharing - I will definitely be trying this technique and I have wanted to play with Golden Open acrylics for so long maybe I’ll finally pick some up! Do you happen to know where your polka dot stencil is from?
This is the set: www.amazon.com/Faber-Castell-Mixed-Media-Paper-Stencils/dp/B01EGF8BEQ/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?crid=ZTUMZ9X7JS83&keywords=mixed+media+stencils&qid=1701380851&sprefix=mixed+media+sten%2Caps%2C199&sr=8-13 The down side is that it’s made of card stock and the paint cannot be cleaned off. I can definitely recommend this set: www.amazon.com/Circle-Stencil-Geometric-Stencils-Scrapbook/dp/B0C8H6FFQ4/ref=mp_s_a_1_5_sspa?crid=272DI39C9J1K1&keywords=circles+stencil&qid=1701380708&sprefix=circles+stencil%2Caps%2C198&sr=8-5-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9waG9uZV9zZWFyY2hfbXRm&psc=1 It’s plastic with lots of different sizes of circles.

What are this needle point pens you use ? I didn’t see them listed after the video ? Are you filling them with acrylic paint ?
