    This was the best brake change video ever for the Hyundai Palisade. Little tips really helped. I completed the project with no issues and no warning lights when I was done.

    Thanks Dan, for leaving the camera on during the entire job. This makes sure nothing is left out.

    Dan, Thank you for sharing your expertise. It was so nice of you to give a list of tools needed to replace the brakes. Also and showing us how to release the emergency brakes so we can put the new pads. Now I can handle my rear brakes in my Palisade when the time comes.

    Great video, I have same car, didn't want to buy another scanner, thanks for video, eventually I'll buy a better scanner since all the cars in my garage have epb

      Or just save your money and use this method only adds about 5 min per side. Most of the time it takes 15 min to get the scanner hooked up and thru the steps to get to the epb maintenance mode

    Note that you can un plug the park brake connection at the caliper and use a small 9 volt battery with wire connection leads and prob the connection at the park brake motor as well not having to dissemble the p k motor assembley works well no scanner. Try it

      Yes we have videos using that method as well however I would recommend using a 12v battery or at least a convertor as the vehicle is powered with 12v

    What's your rear lifting point on the palisade?

    Dan, this is a really great video. Is there a difference between replacing the front and the rear on this car? I'm looking at replacing my wife's rotors and pads as the dealership said the pads are at 4mm.

    • @danthebrakeman
      @danthebrakeman  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The only real difference is the electronic parking brake in the rear. The fronts are pretty cut and dry.

    How important are the spreader springs ? Some pads from auto stores don't come with them...and it didn't seem like it came with the spreader springs from the factory. Thank You.

      If they're not on from factory it's no sweat some pads have hardware with spreaders built into them. But it's always best practice to get it as close to back to oem as possible

    Dan, thanks for the video everything went smooth. Only thing is that the “auto hold” and “epb” lights were on after. Car starts and stops just fine, any way on how to reset those lights? My ob2 reader can’t reset the palisade parking brake.

      Sorry for the delayed response not sure why you had lights on. Double check connections and test drive sometimes they reset themselves after test driving

    Dear brake man, you may be the right person I can ask. I can't find it on the internet. "My new brake pads + new discs squeak when braking softly" Can this be easily remedied, or should I use softer brake pads (less metal)? Thank you in advance for your technical advice

    • @danthebrakeman
      @danthebrakeman  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately some makes and models especially heavier vehicles are just prone to squeaking using brake grease on the back of the pads may help also make sure to use high quality ceramic pads

    • @danthebrakeman

      I don't remember the exact spot on this repair it's always under one of several jack points. Pinch weld, frame, rear differential etc...

    How on earth did you just pull the caliper off after removing the two bolts. I pulled the two bolts and the caliper does not move at all. I assume the electronic parking brake is still engaged and preventing me from pulling it off?

    • @danthebrakeman
      @danthebrakeman  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes the epb is likely still engaged the caliper should pull right off with the two bolts removed

    Can you apply 12v to the motor to retract the the piston instead of open and turn it as shown in your video?
