  • I got this amazing Glimakra Amelia loom from my dad for my birthday and my husband got me the extra heddle! I am testing out my linen from Lithuania!

Ummm I am so sorry but you just don't know how much I giggled over " naked random holes" and "hold on I gotta cut these and set them on fire" I don't know why it hit my giggle bone so bad but it did. You my dear are amusing even if it is just to me.

Ah a kindred ADD/ADHD sister in crime with weaving loom. Mine is (ironically) the Louet Erica hahaha. Hope i am not the only one that puts all on the loom does a few rows gets bored and yanks it all off.... cause... yeah. Reasons. As for the loose? I found out if you use those rubber mats you can do in the kitchen cabinets and such? They work amazing with keeping the tension ok. You roll them instead of the paper with the threads. Hope my tip helps :) (I am a newbie also, so exploring be fun hahaha)

LOL! I debated getting that loom! I haven't yet done that, I have a fun "shame based parenting" button that doesnt allow me to take it off once I have started ! LOL Thank you so much for that tip! I will definitely be ordering some, im sure its much less of a pain to roll up evenly too!!!

@@ericazubris If you wish to experiment with more shafts, this one is for sure a good one, it also got a stand and thats such a handy thing. (not including) It is pricy, but i think it was worth it.

The metal pawls is what attracts me to this one specifically, as well. I helped a friend who was having fits tensioning one with plastic pawls. Maybe people don’t really tension them too much?

I think that is TOTALLY what is happening! People seem to use really really forgivingly stretchy yarns it how it appears to me! I am learning why linen is hard to warp onto a rigid heddle and will soon have a video about it LOL, its mostly about the LACK of give in the fiber making it nearly impossible to tension with out special tools and a floor loom to HOLD that level of tensioning. I think I have worked out a system that will get me through the one linen table runner I'd like to weave and then I'll be doing something EASY for a change with nice fluffy squishy stretchy wool that doesn't make me cry. I am glad I am not alone in my love of a good solid metal piece of equipment!!!!
