I actually lived in Brighton for about 8 year's but didn't appreciate it. This video has definitely made me want to revisit and explore the city.
All the more reason to book a trip and rediscover old favourites and add new places to your list! So much has been added to the city in the last few years too (Shelter Hall being one of them - so great!) ♥️

As someone who grew up going to the New Jersey Shore and has gone to Coney Island on trips as a kid, Brighton is a place that feels comforting and familiar to me. The beach, the amusement park (or fun fair like the Brits call it), everything reminds me of the Jersey Shore. It’s also such a beautiful place, I envy those that live there (also, one of my heroes, Nick Cave, lives there).

3 amazing years spent in Brighton while i was studying at Sussex Uni.
I haven't been into Brighton since the start of the pandemic. I worked in the city centre but we're all working from home, now. I loved Petit Pois when we went for my boyfriend's 40th. The staff were super kind and gave him birthday macarons to celebrate. The Tee Time bubble tea place must be new and now I want to head back in for a day to try it out! If anyone wants budget Japanese food, but not sushi, more the sort of things people might make at home, then look for Pom Poko in the lanes.

Brighton is a pandatastic place. I haven't been there in many years though. Nice to know sushi garden and a few other favourite haunts of mine are still there. I'd love to revisit Brighton some day. Maybe as a day trip when I eventually visit London.🐼🐼

When youre there next time you might explore the one and only spanish tapas restaurant "casa don carlos" . I lived 10 years in brighton, this was our favourite place to eat, cozy familiar athmosphere, great tapas. Check it out ;)

I’d say it can range from cheap eats to moderate depending on where you go! Lots of smaller eateries offering affordable options to restaurants that are more splurgey!

Hi Shu, would you suggest taking a carry on luggage and check in luggage from Heathrow airport to Brighton on the train or should i leave the check in at a locker in London first? I’m visiting from the US.
Hello! It depends on how much you need but a check in luggage on the train will be fine and they will be room to store or have by you on the train!

Just be careful using a camera anywhere near the beach!…. In the last few years a photographer was smashed over the head with a glass bottle on Brighton beach for taking a photo!…. She yes she was stood at the shore line taking a photo of a boat with nobody swimming infront of her. When a woman described as having pink and blue hair came up behind her and smashed her with three bottle. Because she wrongly believed it’s illegal to take photos on U.K. beaches… because someone on Twitter told her it was!. Furthermore there’s been reports of being having rocks thrown at them for holding a camera and it’s effectively a certainty that you will get verbally abused in Brighton for using a camera anywhere in the town (it’s called a city but it’s not). Expect to have drug addicts aggressively chasing you for money, be extremely careful when you sit on the beach because countless times used hypodermic needles have been found seen on the beach including by mean… endless smashed glass and dogs toilet!. You are at significant risk of being hit by a cyclist or electric scooter on the pavements!. You may may have 1 out of 10 people smile and acknowledge you, however the vast majority will just walk into you and expect you to get out there way!. I’ve not even gone into the dangers of being out at nighttime in Brighton and hove!…all I say is seriously avoid st James street, north street, western road, west street and London road after 10pm and for god sake do not go to those places between midnight at 5am… your risk of being a victim of violent crime is very very significant.. I’m talking mugging, assault, stabbing, r@pe!. Just Check Sussex police stats page!.
Anyone coming to Brighton thinking it’s a lovely liberal accepting place will be sadly mistaken!. If you have blue hair and have very specific political ideals then your accepted.. if you don’t have blue hair and walk around with an acab bag your effectively considered scum!.
