    Can we just take a moment to appreciate how incredible the human body is and how such complex surgeries such as this are possible? Btw im a cis nursing student & thank you so much chase for educating me on the proper and most respectful way to address/communicate with trans patients and to help them be as comfortable as possible.

    Wow! Chase thank u for ur Informative videos. I'm not trans but I had a friend who was trans and had committed suicide a few years ago. We live in a very small town . (U can drive through it in ten mins. We only have one stop light ) none of us around here had ever heard of transgender . We heard of transvestite which I have learned , through videos, that that's not the correct term. I'm not trans but it's nice to be able to get educated on this issue . Maybe through this education we could prevent anymore suicides .

    strange they way they take the donor skin, here in the netherlands they put a kind of rectangular shaped balloon in the donor site and gradually stretch the skin by adding more liquid over time so when the skin has stretched enough they can cut it out to make the penis and then suture the ends back together so the scar is much smaller and less visibe.

    I'd add that taking the arm "skin" is not that accurate. It's a whole tissue section that includes one of the arteries in the forearm (there are two).

    • @bryntendo
      @bryntendo 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Arian Mirzarafie Ahi Yep, it's a full thickness graft, that's a lot of tissue; saying 'skin' is probably simpler for people to understand when introduced to the concept, but it's a little misleading. Of course though, I'm so glad this video exists because it explains the procedure in a way that most people will at least understand, and there's just way too much misinformation about phalloplasty out there. I'd rather technically simplistic but overall accurate information than technically complete bullshit utterly false misinformation.

    My main question watching this is: can they use recycled breast tissue from the top surgery. That way there's no grafts and crap, because they're using the stuff you'd otherwise be throwing away. But then again the chance of getting top and bottom surgery close enough together for the skin to be alive yet might be troublesome. Be cool if that works though. I'd definitely have to ask the clinic when I go this summer.

    I'm kind of on the fence about phalloplasty. I guess I'm kind of scared of something going wrong or not being satisfied with what I have when I have perfectly functioning genitals right now. I don't get a lot of bottom dysphoria so unless it increases as I am on T longer I don't think it's worth it or dire enough just yet. But thank you so much for all of this information! It's super helpful.

      Lynks Boswell there's no piece of skin on my body that would be a suitable donor site because of a skin condition.. so unless I can obtain it differently, like 3d printed in the future or something, it's unlikely. As for your dysphoria, can you maybe get a packer/stp to alleviate it?

      You can use your thigh as a donor site, and under the buttocks skin. There's a bunch donor sites.. most people use the Arm because it's smaller size. Thigh is bigger and girthier from what I've seen.

      Dr. Liedl (in München-Bogenhausen) und Dr. Daverio (Klinik Sanssouci in Berlin-Potsdam). Es gibt scheinbar auch einen Dr. Schaff (in Dachau) aber der benutzt eine Aufbaumethode die mir nicht so zusagt also er nimmt Gewebe aus dem Bein. Dr. Daverio hat vor 20 Jahren selber die Technik, die heute als Standartmethode gilt entwickelt, und scheint in meinen Augen so als der Chirurg der mir am ehesten gefällt. Aber auch Liedl hat schon oft Transsexuelle Patient betreut. Jetzt steht bald erstmal meine Mastektomie an, deswegen überlege ich noch welchen von Beiden ich nehmen würde. Die Klinik Sanssouci bietet außerdem als zurzeit einzige Klinik in Deutschland die All-in-One-Operation an: Die Geschlechtsangleichung Frau zu Mann wird in einem einzeitigen Eingriff - Phalloplastik gleichzeitig mit Brust-, Eierstock- und Gebärmutterentfernung - durchgeführt. I have had a question for along time and I'm sorry if you answered it on this video I can't focus completely but I need it answered. The nerve that they take for the forearm, does that make your arm weaker than the other one, like you know it affects movement and muscle building and stuff? Or does a for example athlete have no problems with that?

    • @sunnyunnie3225
      @sunnyunnie3225 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Xyakori I'm not a medical professional, but from what I understand nerves don't have anything to do with strength or muscle buildup. Nerves are for sensation, not movement and they can grow back together and heal.

    • @bryntendo
      @bryntendo 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Xyakori Generally the donor arm has limited movement and sensation for a while after surgery, so physio and various exercises/movements are part of the healing procedure. After a while though most people don't have very too much restricted movement or loss of strength, if at all. It takes time, care, and physio, but it does heal. Nerves regrow over time, but the sensation will be different because now it's scar tissue and the nerves are much closer to the surface than originally. As for bodybuilding or similar, I'm not sure, the muscles are present and if everything is healed, the physio has been effective, etc, then presumably it wouldn't be a problem. But for day-to-day use of the arm it's typically completely fine after a few months.

    • @coconutsadface6979
      @coconutsadface6979 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      SunnyUnnie unfortunately nerves do not grow back. I only know this because my mom had cancer in her thigh, and underwent chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. That was 8 years ago. Today her nerves in that area are weakened and because of how they connect to her foot, she has little to no sensation in that foot. It's also always ice cold because of the (stenosis=narrowing of blood vessels) less blood flow to the foot.
      In the future, stem cells could be used to try to regrow what nerves are there, but this procedure is not available today.
      Sorry for the long comment, just wanted to help!

    Can you still make a video about the erection without erectal device? I'm curious

    • @bryntendo
      @bryntendo 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Charlson Mateo Reyes Some people use two condoms to make it more rigid, some people use those 'penis sheath/sleeve' sex toys for cis men (either the extender type ones, the 'helping hand' style for people with erectile dysfunction, or the 'blowjob helper' style like the Doc Johnson Good Head/Bro Sleeve), or a cock ring that goes around the balls and up the shaft a bit, some people use a silicone stretchy penis 'cage' that has a straight bit all the way under the shaft with rings over the shaft for the whole length, and some people will combine those things (like cock+ball stretchy ring over two condoms, or two condoms and a sleeve toy, or a cock cage and a Bro Sleeve). I'm sure there are plenty of other tips and tricks people use, but these seem to be the most common. If you go to a sex toy website and look at 'toys for men' or 'toys for couples' you'll probably find all kinds of things that you could use, just to get an idea.

    • @sambergmann505
      @sambergmann505 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It should be. They can do phallo without burying the clitoris, so I do not think it would be necessary to have one. The nerve they take from your donor site is connected to the nerve in your pelvis.

    Trigger warning for anatomical Terminology: I’m MTF and I love watching Chase’s videos. Watching this video really got me thinking kind of freaked out. I just started HRT about a week ago and I know that I will start losing function of my bottom area. For some reason this video just really made me start thinking about the fact that I won’t be able to produce sperm or have an erection and that the testicles are going to get smaller. I’m really starting to freak out and I’m really scared and I kind of want to stop doing hormone replacement therapy. But it’s crazy because I also know that I have always wanted to have a vagina that I was always supposed to have one and I always pray to God when I was little that he would change it. But for some reason after watching this video I just feel really scared because I just keep thinking what if I regret it. And it’s crazy because I know I’m not male, I know I am a woman but it is just so scary to think about. I also think it might be my hormones heightening my feelings about this but I don’t know what to do.

    what about genital piercings with a phalloplasty?

  • @UmbraLyrel
    @UmbraLyrel 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Why would you need an erectile device if everything was readjusted properly? It should redicrect blood there in the same way, ect right? O_o
    I'm a noob with surgery stuff so this may sound like a stupid question but, /nofear.

    • @MsYoruichi1
      @MsYoruichi1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The tissue used is not erectile tissue. The tissue from a clitoris is, but your arm, leg, etc. doesn't swell when you get excited, do you? So blood pumping to that tissue, even that it is now a penis, won't swell up with blood because it's not the right kind of tissue. Plus there's not going to be the right type of capillaries, if any, and other stuff like that.

    • @UmbraLyrel
      @UmbraLyrel 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Gotcha. Yeah the lack of proper capillaries, ect makes a lot of sense when you think about it. I admit I thought what wasn't there but was needed kind of just, grew in from stemming. But it was a bit too easy and too much of a miracle solution then if it just worked -that- ideally lol
      Thank you very much for making me a little wiser today!

    The only questions I have are 1. So you can’t technically get wet? And 2. Are you able to have “something”come out?

    hey Chance, I am wondering what surgeons your friends used? I am interested in phalloplasty and I want to be able to have sensation. You said you had friends that had sensation in the glans. Who were their surgeons so i can narrow my research? Thanks!

      Carter Fish they insert a pump (which cis men also use if medically necessary) that can let you become erect

    Talk about mutilating the body, it’s insane!

    • @OpZoe
      @OpZoe 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      What's insane is that you think any of this is mutilation. People have altered there bodies forever. Face-lifts, breast size increase and decrease, liposuction, hair implants the list can cover pages. All the same to make someone feel comfortable in there "own body" you obviously don't get logic. Why troll? Move on. ✌️
