  • **(No one could sing it like Ray Price!)** Today, I am even more proud of this and other videos that I've created for Mr. Ray and his beautiful wife Janie. It was such a treat and a real true honor to have them watch this one "together". When I set out to create this video, I strived to rival Ray's incredible baritone with my selection of images... a feet that was indeed very hard to accomplish. Ray didn't just sing "Danny Boy", he takes us on a glorious stroll through the lush Irish countryside with his unbelievably rich voice. Thank you Mr. Ray! What a tremendous keepsake! Enjoy! Your Friend & Lifelong Fan, Austin Glen ~oO(♪)Oo~ The incomparable Ray Price sings the beautifully written and beloved song "Danny Boy", a composition that has long-been celebrated most-particularly by Irish Americans and Irish Canadians, and performs it like no other. A positively breathtaking version. N-Joy ~oO(♪)Oo~ (Writer: Frederic Weatherly ~ 1910)

I have loved this song for more than 50 years, both the music (Londonderry Air) and the magnificent lyrics. But when I first heard Ray Price's interpretation years ago, it brought tears to my eyes, because it was the first time I truly felt those lyrics. This is, and has been my favorite version of Danny Boy, since I first heard it. And I’m not Irish!

Country Music has lost a legend in Ray Price. I started listening to him in the mid 50s and was a fan from the first song. I worked for a radio station in Eugene, Or. and met many of the late great country stars but was unfortunate enough to not meet Ray. We had a gala country show one night in mid 60s but Ray couldn't make it as he was in the air searching for his friend Jim Reeves who went down the same day as the gala. Loved you Ray!

My dad saw Ray in Henderson Texas 1951. I had the pleasure of carrying my Mom and Dad to see Ray again several times over the last 5 years of his life. The man was a singer with few or any equals and he was someone who was gonna do it is way or not do it at all. He lived in Mt Pleasant Texas and was often seen shopping at Wal Mart . Just a regular guy with strong principals and a gift of being one of the greatest voices ever. I saw his next to last show and the man never lost his voice. He was a great singer till the end. RIP Noble Ray Price

Usually this song is covered by tenors, but I truly believe ray price’s baritone cover is one of the greatest of them all, I get chills hearing him hit the big notes. He was definitely one of the all time greats of American music of any genre, let alone just C&W.

I have been profoundly Deaf since the age of 6Years. I am now 82, it was not until the advent of digital hearing aids and computers that I was able to hear birds singing in springtime and follow tunes, but sadly I couldn't get the lyrics until I got a computer and a neck loop to enable me to follow both lyrics and tunes. this version of Danny Boy is the best that I have heard.

The best cover of "Danny Boy", ever, is this by Ray Price. As a piper for decades, I've heard many a version of this song from Ireland to California and heard no equal as sung by Ray Price. His Welsh ancestors baritone voice gives a power of emotion to this ballad that no tenor can impart.
