I can't BELIEVE this is a 10 year old little girl. I'm 61, and I babysat for 35 years. She doesn't sound like any 10 year old I've ever HEARD!!

When we found out my husband was dying he had requested that Danny Boy be played at at his service and my niece God bless her soul found a Celtic version of Danny Boy by two beautiful Celtic women it was the most beautiful song I have ever heard and the way it is sung it is beyond belief how beautiful it really truly is and for a 10 year old to be able to sing this beautiful song such beautiful and gorgeous voice is amazing God bless you young lady I wish you well and as far as the song Danny Boy it is by far one of the most requested songs to be song at Men's funeral services that have any kind of a Irish background I just love to hear the song in this rendition.
God must have blessed her with a voice like that. And only ten years old. AMAZING! Glad I got a chance to hear her sing.
My Dad's favourite song. At his funeral, it was played on a single bagpipe. Not a dry eye in the house. 15 years later, I still cry. This is so incredible.
When I was a child my mother would sing this to me almost every day. Now at 66 I almost feel mom with me when I hear this song.

@@rd1903 Actually Jackie was just 10 years old when she recorded this, and she felt the sadness this ballad expressed so deeply, that it took several takes to record it. And they needed to remove a couple of lines, and edit the wording in a couple of other lines, before they could complete this version. Her mother was very unhappy, and felt David Foster pushed Jackie to hard to get the song recorded, and Jackie has never sung it again. Be that as it may, in my opinion this is the most beautiful and touching version ever recorded. A true Masterpiece ! EDIT the Lines omitted are "But if you come, and all the flowers are dying And I am dead, as dead I well may be", then in the next stanza the word "know" is changed to "hear" and "grave" is changed to "heart".

Unbelievable how soft and low Jackie can sing. The high notes too, without any self-representation. The simplicity mooves most. And she nails the meaning totally altough she certainly had just not a lover`s grief or a parting at this age.

I was watching American Idol when Jackie was a contestant on the show. I was so thrilled when she won! She has the most angelic voice I've ever heard! My one and only brother was actually named after this song! It was my mother's favorite!

The night she did her first audition--the first note out of her mouth--I yelled for my husband to come to the living room and listen to the angel singing! That kind of singing is not his favorite! But even he said if she didn't win, he would be extremely surprised! And she was only 10 years old! My first comment was that if her voice was that pure at age 10--what would it be like when she was grown and her vocal chords mature!! The only other person I've ever heard who had such a stunning voice the first time they performed was Josh Groban! I was watching Celine Dion's show that night when she talked about her star performer for that night had taken ill or something happened they couldn't perform and she didn't know hat she was going to do! Her manager quickly told her about this young performer who "just happened to be there that night" who was looking for a chance to prove himself. It was as if it was divine intervention! The manager called Josh up on stage and asked him to sing for Celine! He did and her jaw dropped and eyes grew big at the stunning sound that came out of Josh's mouth! And the rest is history! That was the same reaction I had when Jackie sang her audition song! What a tone perfect, heavenly sound came out of her! There have been many talented winners since then, but not one can hold a candle to Jackie OR Josh! Singers like them are one in a million! It will be very interesting to see who wins this season's American Idol! I don't think I've ever seen so many young people who are so talented! I'm glad I'm not a judge! I don't think I could pick just one!

What a tribute to John McDermott! Not only is he a famous singer, he is absolutely one of my favourite philanthropists. With his Christmas concerts which he presides in annually, he has donated millions to the Palliative Centre which is located in the Veteran's Wing in Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto. We droved to Oshawa, ON. on Dec. l0th, 2019 to attend his Christmas Concert & just two days later, he was in Toronto, doing a concert for the veterans. How wonderful that he is so indefatigable & so full of energy. We can't applaud him enough. Kudos to Jackie Evancho for her excellent ballad on Danny Boy, the signature song of Mr. McDermott..

His *original 1913* lyrics for 'Danny Boy' were meant for a *woman* to sing. There are many great versions of this classic, but Jackie Evancho's is the best I've ever heard.
