- With the concrete countertops complete, Gary gets to work on a windowsill to span from the window to the kitchen sink. Watch to see how it turns out. You should have done a bit of stain and the varnish on the overhang to protect the bottom of the board from splash up
Here in Kentucky we call them wild onions. They grow everywhere.
You should come back in the summer. When everything is green. Yes, most all of our rivers and streams flow all year. You were in Daniel Boone country. Thus the name Boone Tavern. You were on the edge of Daniel Boone Nation Forest. Eastern Kentucky is a very beautiful and historic area. My wife grew up in Beria. Jesse James spent a lot of time in KY, hiding from the law. He had family here. The next time you are here you should check out the horse farms around Lexington.
I live in Lex and when I mow my yard, if the wind isn't blowing, I can smell the wild onions!
Also from Kentucky! I live in Richmond now but I grew up around Danville ("The City of Firsts"). When they picked up the "chives" from the ground I just kept saying to myself, "those are wild onions!" lol. I remember chewing on them now and then when I was a kid- that and honeysuckles. There's just nothing like the smell of fresh-cut Kentucky grass and wild onions on the wind. We live in a truly beautiful state filled to the brim with history and tranquility.
For the aquaponics have you considered a “compost” heater. The heat generated by an active compost pile can be used to keep water from freezing.

My native Kentuckian husband wants you to know that only one other state than Kentucky has more fresh water running through it.. That is Alaska.
Suggestion: foam sleeves on the tubes to/from solar heater to lessen the heat loss. Another life's lessons to learn from. Good Luck!
we use pool noodels around our pipes. find them in the dump every fall.

Berea's students are super well rounded. There use to be something about paying tuition in Livestock. It's a great option for homeschool graduates to get a college education without loosing passion and zest.
Yall coming out here and being amazed by us having flowing creeks, would be the same with me coming to your area. Part of God's great paint brush. No 2 places are the same but we are all connected somehow. So since there was no news or announcements made, I take it the newest member has not graced us yet with herself. I hate to hear about the aquaponics fish, but now they are giving back to the plants still. Remember Bryson one step back will lead you 5 steps ahead. I would take a build a few different types of the waterheaters and see which type works the best for you.
It seems like adding that shiny windowsill added a LOT more LIGHT as it seems to be reflecting off the surface of the wood. It is all so beautiful, creative and debt-free! I LOVE your channel and how you continue to share the multiple talents God has given each of you. You each work so well independently, yet you also make a very strong TEAM. Blessings from Texas 💙

Dad why didn't you seal all the underneath boards since you have humidity from the sink and the window
♥ The sink ledge underside should of been protected too by sealing it closest to the sink and the rest could been left be, so the under splash doesnt get to the wood.

I enjoy all your videos so greatly. Haven't figured out how to see them in order, so I just jump around and watch whatever comes up. It's always great. I would like to make a request that you post a map of the property either a ground or air view (or both) and identify the different structures as to whose they are are (bedrooms) and when they were finished. I try to keep track but it's easy to get confused. Thank you all so much for sharing your lives and adventures with us and adding something beautiful to our lives. Enjoyed this one, I spent the holidays in West Virginia with my parents. Living in Wisconsin I get green but very few trees, lots of pasture. The best saying is "Bless your heart".

Yes the tiles will act as a heat battery. Yet the pipe that is coming off the solar collector isnt insulated and is losing heat before it can warm the tank.

Oh you have no idea how much it means to me to see yall's dogs, especially the Pugd! My Pug baby left me in March of last year. She and I had been together for nearly 18 years. That's a long time for a Pug....I'm 54 years old and have been a Pug owned human for over20 years, now I'm Pugless and it's a really hard thing to deal with. 😥
Dad looks real GOOD! Ooooh I feel real bad about the aquaponics system. I like that the TH-cam community has been helpful with inputs. Thank you for the Kentucky visit and tour.... I feel like I joined you on vacation (oh yea, I am part of the Family). Ha ha, nothing like showing up at someones house..... lol lol ("Excuse me..... Can we see your lake?"). I was really interested in the makings of the dulcimer. Happy you bought one. Windowsill looks great.
This weekly peek did not disappoint (none have)! The interview with the dulcimer maker was quite informative and the search for more history of the wood, I wouldn't have thought of that during a trip makes this even more enjoyable. Well can't wait to hear some dulcimer music in the background.

Kitchen is just beautiful, an amazing job👍🏻. The dulcimer is a great find, the maker is wonderful and very proud of his work. I didn’t realize Shea was Shea until about halfway through the video, thought she was a relative you were visiting , new hair do threw me off. When we first moved to Dallas pre-GPS, I got lost because my directions were, down this road, as soon as you cross the river take the hwy going north, ya can't miss it. Well we drove for miles and miles and never did see a river... We didn't know that in the summer the Trinity River was narrower than a lot of the creeks we'd lived by in Pennsylvania.
