Wirtual has been saying he has ten thousand hours in Trackmania for years. I suggest he is now grossly underestimating how many hours of Trackmania he has played.
I would consider this an example of how human perception is essentially logarithmic - you feel the milestones after spending x^y hours on a task. Your first hour, your first 10, 100, 1000 etc.
@@ideallyyours Oh yes, he is grossly underestimating it. I know I have spent over 5k hours playing League of Legends in the past (according to online statistics), I have played the game for 5 years relatively frequently. Wirtual has play way, WAY more Trackmania than I did play LOL. Just to put it into perspective: playing a game every day for 3 hours would give you 1000 hours of playtime after just a year. They do have banked turns in nascar. Banked turns make it so you have to steer less to get around the curve, so you can go a lot faster by breaking less or even still accelerating through the turn. In a wallride, you need no steering, so a banked turn is in between a normal turn and a wallride. I think it also has to do with the level of grip on dirt in this game. You can't take sharp turns and inside lines because you lose to much speed or just slide out and hit the wall. So it's better to take a wide and more smooth line to keep more speed.
