Personally, I believe a continuation of some kind is possible given how they have marketed this show prior to the release of ep 7 but it won't be for a very long while. My guesses as to what happened behind the scenes would be a combination of Glitch not having the proper funds to make another season especially since they currently have two shows in production and Liam experiencing burnout (some of this is based on what Gooseworx has said in their socials). The ending gave me the feeling that he has more ideas he can toy with in Murder Drones but he likely wants a break and/or doesn't have a clue as to how to develop said ideas. With this in mind that's why Glitch and Liam decided to suddenly advertise ep 8 as a series finale. Ultimately this is simply what I think is going on.

I agree he could've ran his creative well dry or needed a break... And considering glitches bugetd maybe he decided to put MD on hold to help both TADC and TGLD thrive.

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

Before episode 7, I was pretty certain that this series would be a one and done deal. It's just Liam's MO. I think that his world and characters could easily keep going, and Glitch definitely has more ideas for them, as is their right to use them. But I'll definitely believe Liam is experiencing some burnout and needs the rest. As for Glitch, their financial situation thanks to TADC alone makes it far more likely that Liam's creative decisions were the reason for the show's one-season runtime as opposed to finances. Though they now have a staff of 50 people, that's still a skeleton crew for two shows, so yeah... Working on 3 at the same time would definitely be too much stress!

@@benruniko From my limited understanding, it is a sign that someone has real strength of character and conviction to not be swayed. Loyalty is heavily prized in Japanese culture. Loyalty to yourself when you're expected to bend and bow to society is especially big! BUT it does require you to have admirable qualities and values for that unchangeable personality to really be revered. Which is why the unchanging protagonist must constantly fight bad guys who challenge their world view and values.
For N, this works here in Murder Drones because what is being challenged is his innate goodness, and we see that even all that torture and all those awful memories being unlocked doesn't break him. Absolute Solver has muddled his mind, but it never understood that it couldn't break who he really is. Though, to be fair, Uzi does help out a lot with that.

Technically Khan did one thing. When Cyn was ready to eat N's core it was Khan who pressed a button on a remote that shut a door on Cyn's extra eldritch limbs propering herself to the threshold of the door. I wish he did more, a lot more, but I just wanted to point it out. I still liked it tho. And it was a bit cathartic how he used a door, his weakness in the past, to attack Cyn, and save N. If there’s one thing ive consistently encountered from this series, it’s that each episode has needed at least two watches before I felt like I understood what was going on (except for episode 1 notably enough!) and that includes the finale. Frankly, I didn’t really enjoy the episode on my first watch through during the premiere. Part of that was simply because I was already in a bad mood that day, but part of it was because I didn’t understand how the episode solidified the themes of the show. The finale had a lot of action, and although that was cool, the action was never the big reason I watched the show. For me, it was the mystery, the suspense, and the relationships. Aside from the action, the finale really focused on the relationships, and on a second watch through that’s what really resonated with me. I understood the core theme: working together, and devoting love and care to those around you is ultimately the way through the darkness. At least that’s what I took away from it. After all, that’s why Doll died so pitifully; she tried to go it alone, and the narrative punished her for it. After all these amazing episodes, that touches on one of my only significant criticism of the show: I don’t mind that Doll died, but I wish we had seen a bit more of her story. I think it was pretty clear that she was a pretty sympathetic character, but I really wanted to see more of her reasoning and attempted plan. With that said, the joke in the credits about Doll being dead and discarded did not sit well with me. But, oh well. That’s how the cookie crumbles I guess

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I agree. This is a show that requires multiple views to fully realize the themes and messages. And it's good to see a lot of people still wanting justice for Doll! Yeah, there was certainly more that should have been done with her character. I've said it before and I'll say it again, season 1 should have been extended into two seasons. That way we could get all of the story, but more character development along with necessary world building and power understanding.

You know what's weird to me ?
    - how did an empty body move on its own ?
    - why was Uzi worried of Absolute Solver getting inside of a body... with no heart ?
    - how does possesing a drone heart affect Absolute Solver ?
Because, in the previous episodes, it's established that A.S. needs a drone with a heart, or a standalone heart, to exist (otherwise its just a black floating dot) but then again, in the end of ep.7, we see the body of tessa slurping up Dolls heart. So maybe the body had two hearts in ep.8 ? Or eating a heart only has benefits strenghwise ? I'm lost on this 😅
Loved the vid ❤ Like, seriously, well done !

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

From what we can gather, the drones possessed by Absolute Solver are changed to have independent cores. The cores allow the Absolute Solver more freedom to move and keep attacking and tormenting worlds and people if the host is killed. Absolute Solver can also act through surrogates when it chooses, so there's potentially far more hosts out there, but it came in "person" for the destruction of Copper 9. So, it can take over other bodies, and originally as per what we see flash across Cyn's screen, it needed to be first invited in. From there, it's been possessing the drones it could access.
Granted, we are missing some details, but that is kind of the nature of a Locvecraftian horror. You're never supposed to understand the thing you fear.
As for the benefits it gets from possessing a drone and its heart? Hosts and means to travel and destroy. However, there are hints that prolonged contact to any one host means that Absolute Solver starts acting more and more like that host. It's clearly mimicking Tessa and what we gather was Cyn's personality by the end, making a murderously spunky gal. Haha!
Thanks for your comment and the compliment on the video. :)

    edit: fixed usi to Uzi
The only issue i have with MD as a whole is the pacing. it feels like the show always needed the characters to do something and not let them be themselves, everyone feels fleshed out and we understand them however when you break down the some of the characters they feel hollow. Doll is the perfect example of the pacing, her whole arc is just: ho ho ho I'm such a menace always interfering with you one step ahead what secrets am i going to find down here now I'm dead. apart from the pacing i think that Murder Drones just has nailed every other aspect of every episode and that is something a lot of shows just cant do.
As cool as a season 2 would be for murder drones i just don't see how they can possibly trump season 1 every single episode was better than the last and that trend would have to continue with season 2 and i think that Glitch and Liam realized that around Ep 6 and decided to make murder drones only 8 episodes. i really hope that they do revisit Murder Drones in the future maybe in a comic perhaps? either way they defiantly have earnt the praise that they are getting right now and i hope Liam and Glitch for the best in their endeavours to come
Was going to end the comment here but Just a couple of shipping ideas not going to kill anyone over any differing opinions… yet
    Doll / J:
A bit of a long shot that is probably ever going to happen but just give a second of thought and these two match perfectly. They are both no nonsense type of people who clearly like to get work done properly and with nothing left for them on copper 9 i can easily see these 2 just getting into the spaceship and flying into the stars to go explore.
    V / Lizzie:
I can easily see these two getting together now that N is with Uzi, V learning to let go of N, stop being overly protective of him, learning to be herself and falling in love with the person who is most likely to help her with that journey, Lizzie.
    V / N / Uzi (yes i am shipping V twice cry about it)
V still clearly Loves N and the fact that Uzi said that they are both “weirdly hot” is the most bisexual thing ive ever heard and I love it hell Lissie can join in if she wants, but one thing's for certain with this ship N gets all the B*tches.
    Dingo / Bus
I mean the dingo is already riding the bus so this ship is already at 3rd base and nobody can possibly disagree, It's perfect and clearly an endgame couple, Anyone who disagrees is clearly not a Murder drones fan.

      @camillesharem  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Dingo x Bus is the ship we need, but not the one we deserve... Long live the shipping!
Yes, the pacing is a major issue throughout the series! Murder Drones really needed to slow down and give itself the chance to full explore and develop the characters, as well as Uzi's abilities. The more I think about it, the more I realize that turning season 1 into two would have been a smart choice. That would have given Liam potentially a whole episode or half an episode to really focus on Doll and show her story before giving her that tragic ending. And that would have been payoff! But like you said, each episode only got better than the last, which is a real testament to how the crew learned and became even more experienced and bold. Hollywood wouldn't have the guts to do what they did and make it look so good!

I agree that this is a satisfying finale, but time for me to go through what I liked, and what I didn’t like. Starting with what I liked first, because I know it’s always good to start on a positive note instead!
What I liked: the music, animation and Humor throughout the episode for one was phenomenal. I loved the scene of J and V fighting, as we learn J really only works for the solver because she feels there’s no other choice, loved that development for J. I also loved Cyn, as she felt like the carrying point of the episode with how horrifying she was especially from “Dropped this, silly!” To her various facial expression and such, Cyn felt like a true horrific monster that worked well. V’s sequence in the hallway of crying, and apologizing to N was perhaps my favorite part since we finally see the tough girl that V had shown to be collapse as we see more of the Elliot manor form of V. Infact, the trauma sequences of N and V through the episode were great, including the moment where N sees V’s corpse in his memories, it really made me wonder how many times V had died trying to protect him. Even to the point of being ready to work for the Solver again to protect him. The ending sequence, seeing everyone happy on Copper 9 was incredibly nice, especially all the questions that are left unanswered and more we see and have to explore such as the ghost in the schools of the hallway, the seemingly remains of a body from the solver, and the ending scene of Uzi and the Solver together. All of these, were what I felt worked.
Now, for what I didn’t like. I for one, was not a fan of V’s lack of emotional energy in her return, it more felt like she was just thrown in to say “hey, she’s alive, let’s get this finale going”. Along with the lack of really anything done by the side characters, since I would have instead loved to see Kahn, Lizzie, Thad, and even the sentinel maybe all fighting J to keep her away from the solver. Moving on, N and Uzi.. I appreciate that there’s finally an answer for those two, but what I don’t like is how it feels so rushed being right at the start of the episode basically, I respect Nuzi but it just felt off. Then we get back to V, as I for one absolutely hated how the only person to really acknowledge V being alive again on the side of good was Uzi. After V cried in the hallway, yelling how sorry she was you think we’d have gotten atleast a short conversation where N and V finally get their chance to talk, but she basically gets ignored by N the entire episode aside from him yelling “V Stop!” And even completely stops fighting the solver, letting V fight it alone to do a secret handshake practice with V, which I like comedically but after such an emotional reaction to her sacrifice in episode 6, and 7, to get nothing from him in the finale felt wrong. Moving even further, I can live with the Solver not being able to control Uzi anymore due to her more stable mindset with her feelings for N out and her being less unstable emotionally, it just felt like Uzi was generally better at using the solvers own powers than it, which really didn’t feel right considering the Solver is the originator of these powers. The final fight, although awesome to watch just felt too much like the solver wasn’t realizing just how dangerous and predictable it was being. With it teleporting behind Uzi several times and getting countered, only for it to try that trick AGAIN and get its core taken out by her, or even how it just stopped using its massive trump card being those tendrils it was using to devour the planet, yes I get the solver was probably playing with its food but being as smart as it has been established to be, it should have known that it would need to stop playing eventually otherwise it would lose.
Overall, I still give the finale a 5/10, mostly from the great conclusion and Cyn’s character in general, and I wanna say I likely go with your 3rd ending idea, the true lovecraftian horror ending, where you can perhaps win the battle against Absolute Solver.. but you can never win the war.

Forgot to add this with my dislikes but I also hate, and agree with you on how Doll and J were such wasted characters. Doll was one of the characters I was the more interested in the mystery behind her, and J I really liked and wanted to see more of her in the finale.
And as much as I wanted N and V to end up together, even just a hug between them with some kind of reconciliation would be really nice, I respect Nuzi winning, but I still support Envy all the way, and am interested in hearing your thoughts about how you think V might not have lost out on N, as I’m really curious about it

Great review as always Lars. For my thoughts on the finale, l am honestly blown away that they were able to wrap up things in just 20 mins like holy shoot. This episode had one of the best fight scenes and animation quality in the whole series, also the nighcore song is such a bop. I also can't believe the theories were true that V will come back and will ride a sentinel lol l did not expect it to be real.
And the NUzi scenes are always the best 💜💛 l'm glad these dorks are finally dating, we've been waiting for 3 yrs for them to be together and it's worth it. Khan & Nori reuniting was very funny and cute. We finally got to see how terryfying Cyn is, like she is just too OP but also creepily cute. She's honestly one of the best parts in this finale and definitely stole the show.
Although it's sad V can't be with N, however we can clearly see in the classroom she is sharing earphones with Lizzy and Lizzy leaned into V to see what's inside the paper plane. There's also one shot of just the four of them with N&Uzi dancing in the sky and V & Lizzy dinositting and playing chess, kinda like a double date. Every end credits shot, they are always seen doing together so I think it's implied that they're a thing. So in a way, V does find happiness.
But one of the things l love about this ep is we finally got to learn more about J as a character and her motivation though sadly we do not see how her arc has concluded just like all the other side characters. This finale was incredible, sorry my ramblings are so long lol. I'm so glad l discovered this show and have been with it til the end. l am so glad to be a part of this awesome community and also what brought me to your channel.
Even though it's over, l'll never forget it and will always have a special place in my heart (just like Uzi with solver *giggle*)

I think the first interpretation would open up to the AS having it's own character arc, Because i think in my theory the AS wants to be an individual it's own person. That's why it keeps absorbing all these different personalities, cause knowing liam he likes giving character's/monsters like this more depth and a character arc but hey that's just my dumb opinion thanks for reading 😅

It's a fair interpretation. Again, horror is open for everyone in the audience to draw their own conclusions, and in the process hopefully share them and learn more from each other. Perhaps Absolute Solver would want to be its own person without the constant hunger and drive to destroy that has gripped it for so long. And by the finale, there's a definite personality peeking through. Could that be a result of its obsession with N and using Tessa and Cyn to manipulate him, thereby taking on aspects of their actual personalities? It's possible!

I do wish we learned more about the show, because there are so many questions left unanswered, like how did the Absolute Solver came to be, did Cyn kill Tessa on purpose or by accident, which Murder Drone killed Nori (hopefully not N) and much more.
But from the comments, seeing that Liam was experiencing burnout, I can't blame him for ending it. Good ideas only happen for a certain amount of time and end at some point.
I do hope we do get some answers at some point.

It would be awesome if Glitch did something like a lore book. We've seen the massive successes that Journal #3 and The Book of Bill are, if Liam is willing to put in the work it could be such an awesome collector's product! However, I think that would be a big step for Glitch because publishing a lore book is outside of their current wheelhouse. Maybe Glitch Inn will be the medium by which they share more lore and world building from the show.

It would be interesting to make a continuation. However, I feel that the element of mystery of not knowing exactly what happened at the end is also interesting. If the series end here which is more likely I prefer ending 2, because even if Uzi ends up being consumed at least she could have closure and happiness for a while. Because you could say that the end (when she is in the locker) is a nightmare that she has when she is sleeping, and is like the solver slowly consuming her. If you think about it is not that different as ending three because at the end she is like very slowly dying, and that is also similar to be in a comma, or is just a snapshot of what is happening to her internally.
Murder drones was a very interesting journey. I feel that the other episodes have also general flaws. Sometimes the pacing is too fast, sometimes you need more character moments etc…. But, at the end of the day, MD gave me a very interesting experience and combination of horror, sci-fi, cringe teens? xD. I enjoyed it a lot even with its imperfections and lacking elements. I recently rewatched all after the end and it was a good experience, and I can agree if they decided to center in what they could do even if they let things behind.

I find it very interesting to see people choose the different ending interpretations I've posed. I think it says something about the creative spark in each of us, about how we might tell the same story. Alas for poor Uzi! Haha!
I'm glad that you gave Murder Drones a try. It was a very interesting story and definitely something made for younger audiences. However, it is great to see that other creators are actively trying to make stories and shows for a more younger, but still mature audience. Murder Drones was definitely an exercise in what can be done when blending teenage humor and horror! And I think it puled it off a lot better than most other stories.

I like to honestly view 7 and 8 as one big episode. They *were* meant to release before the glitch drama and subsequent delay. It honestly helps. Overall it’s an okay finale even if it more feels like a *season* finale rather than a series finale. I still like it of course.
I’m not sure what Liam is gonna do know, Robo Christ knows.

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Yeah, episode 8 has some conveniences in the plot, such as N finding Uzi so fast, or everyone ending up where they're supposed to be. It sucks that V didn't get more character development until way late in the series, but it is easy to realize that she returned and does everything because of N, which makes the ending a little depressing for her. But if we hold to the third theory of mine, then things suddenly become very open and curious... There's a ton of potential there in any sort of continuation!
And I do intend to one day write a fanfiction that builds on this and explores what could happen next.
On that note, it also fits with the theory that Doll is alive is some form. Absolute Solver merges all the lives it takes. It says it assimilates, meaning that everything and everyone is in there if they can be peeled away. In Uzi's mindscape, merged with the Absolute Solver, there's a chance for her to find Doll and bring her back. It's a very intriguing possibility!

Hm, fair and valid points and opinions, while i personally think it turned out pretty well and i feel like it worked well as a Finale, I can fully see where you’re coming from and even agree in certain regards, i guess it really is very hard to wrap everything up,
About your Three Takes on the Ending, I have to say that each of them was very interesting in their own right, really makes me curious how some kind of Sequel would be like if it happened?
As for your Writing Advice Section, I have to say, I fully agree with what you said at the end there,
Honestly, I am still going to stand by what i said in a previous Comment, I really do think this Show could‘ve benefited from have some more Casual/Filler-like Episodes or at least some Shorts that could’ve given some highlights to what might’ve been going on between Episodes, the Daily Lives of the Characters, the different Character Dynamics and even the Characters themselves, which would’ve made some of the Major Moments and Scenes hit harder, as well as would’ve just been a nice gesture to have for the Fans,
Although, with the consideration of what they ended leaving on the table for the sake of how this Show turned out, I now feel like the Show could’ve also benefited from either having Longer Episodes or just more Episodes in general, because the 8 Episodes format might’ve not been the way to go, not to say how I have started to become really tired of the 8 Episode Format that a lot of Shows has been using lately,
Speaking of which, what do you think of the 8 Episode Format? Maybe that could be a Future Video, if you haven’t done one already.
On top of that, now that we have the entire Show into perspective, it really has made it so much more apparent to me, how the Story of the rest of the Show seems so different from what we at first got in the Pilot, well Vibe-wise at least anyway,
But I don’t know, it really does feel like the Story that we ended up getting might’ve been thought up at some point after the Pilot was done and released and that what we got from the Pilot might’ve actually been the Original Story intended,
That’s just the impression I’ve gotten at this point, i don’t know that for sure, but it really makes me curious about just what might’ve been going behind the scenes during this Show’s run and the notion that a Season 2 might’ve actually been planned at some point but got changed, doesn’t really help my curiosity,
What do you think about this?
By the way, i don’t remember if I’ve asked this before, but do you know of the Channel: Cartoon Universe,
They’ve been making some Murder Drones Videos lately that might be worth checking out, especially their recent Video that goes into the Mythology behind Murder Drones basically,
I highly suggest checking that one out at least, it makes some interesting points that I am curious what you think about.
Also, I have been wondering, how does a sort of J Spinoff Sequel sound like?

    • @camillesharem
      @camillesharem  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Excellent questions! First off, I really don't like the 8 episode format. Make a movie instead! For an indie animation with limited funding, I understand the approach and can't complain. But for major studios, they really need to stop cutting corners and dedicate themselves again to long-form storytelling.
The pilot episode and the finale do feel very different from each other. However, the pilot does establish the humor, the atmosphere, and tone that are used throughout the entire series. Plus, the hints of Absolute Solver are already dropped in the first episode, helping to set the stage for much bigger things to come down the line!
I have heard of Cartoon Universe, but it's been a while since I last watched their videos. I normally avoid what other reviewers are saying while I'm working on the same material, so I haven't seen any of their Murder Drones stuff!
Hmmm, a J spinoff special would be fun to watch, but I don't think you can get a whole series out of that. J needs her team to play off of, otherwise, the excuses for humor and antics go out the window...
But there's plenty of material for a continuation to the story if Glitch ever wants to do it! But hopefully they'll make sure to rope Liam back into it if they get the crazy need to do that! But for now, it's going to be The Amazing Digital Circus and the Gaslight District for the foreseeable future.

@@camillesharem hm, I see, fair enough, I can fully see what you mean.
Although, about Cartoon Universe, while I can understand why you would prefer to avoid other Reviewers,
I would still like to see what you’d think of their Mythology Video on Murder Drones at least,
      But that’s up to you.
About the J Spinoff Sequel, I can understand what you mean, i think it still could be done depending on how it’s done,
Also, in case you didn’t get it, the idea I have for this i based on the last thing we get to see J do in the Finale, which is working on the Spaceship at around the Beginning of Credits, which leads to Two Possibilities,
      1. She is repairing the Spaceship she destroyed in order to live in, away from everyone else.
      2. She is repairing the Spaceship in order to just up and leave the Planet to God Knows What, due to feeling unwelcomed.
If it’s the Later, then the Spin-off Sequel I have in mind is, basically just J’s Space Adventure or something like that.

personally, i had a bit of the opposite reaction to it; i didn't like the ending the first time i watched it, but the more i did, i warmed up to it. i don't really agree with a few of your criticisms; specifically, i loved j's character this episode (especially the whole somewhat-ptsd reaction to the railgun), and i didn't really think the ship was too in your face. i mean, i don't really like ships in general, but i still thought this was fine. it was just a couple moments and then n going "that's my girlfriend", it was really just a background thing. however, i definitely would've loved arcs for the rest of the characters. khan and nori especially would've been fun to get some more time with, but i'm fine with thad and lizzie not being so in the story. it's still flawed; everything's a little flawed; but i loved it anyway. and now that i think about it, the final fight was very symbolic. the two teams were absolute solver and a murder drone... vs. an absolute solver and two murder drones. adding more characters would kinda ruin that for me.

Okay, I think Itadori and Uzi are similar in a very specific way. They both can prevent the god-like entity from taking control of them. Also they both ate a thing of the thing of the god-like entity, for Itadori, it's Sukuna's fingers and in Uzi's case, it's the black hole. Also Sukuna can kind of popup on Itadori's face and talk that way, like how the absolute solver can use Uzi's tail to communicate. Also Uzi's eyes are purple and gold, because of the absolute solver is a part of her, and Itadori has black marks on his face under his eyes where Sukuna's third and fourth eyes are

ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE TEXT COMING, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
    MY HONEST OPINION
Murder Drones, the series was getting really serious and dark by the penultimate episode, plus it reminded me of Shingeki no Kyojin since the initial story turned out to be a lie. Also, they didn’t abandon the humor but they toned it down now and it was great, however, the last episode feels like everyone is back in episode 1, ESPECIALLY the main character Uzi. Action-wise, there’s everything we wanted to see, plus, I always like it when they find a creative way to take down an OP villain (I knew the weakness to sunlight would be used at some point). It's about the LORE that I hate this last episode, the series was always characterized by giving us part of the lore in each episode THAT was what I love (or loved) so much about the series, however, when they killed Doll in the penultimate episode, I started to worry that they were speeding up to meet the 8 announced episodes, then it was revealed that the last one lasted only 20 MINUTES I started to get scared, and when the episode finally arrived... I was left with a void... doubts were left in the air, stories that could have been better told. -Who or what is the Absolute Solver? Is it just a power controlled by Cyn or is it an entity of its own? -How did the Solver and its Drones expand throughout the universe? -What did the humans do on Cooper-9? -Who or what killed Nori?! -Doll is also alive inside Uzi?! -We see J repairing the ship in the credits, where will he go? -What happened to the other 2 spaceships? Why did he come to the planet with three just to destroy them on impact? -What happened to the other Killer Drones? It's impossible that only N, V and J are the only "Effective" ones, there has to be AT LEAST ONE on some planet or something. And let's not even talk about several details that throughout the show made me believe that the end of the series was Interstellar style, that is, chaotic but without loose ends. In Murder Drones, no, many details were left in the air and I will ALWAYS defend the idea that Digital Circus took the attention away from Murder Drones and Glitch privately asked Liam Vickers to cut the story to finish it as quickly as possible to dedicate himself to something else. -What about the company? Was J tricked or was she pretending with the others and never really existed? -The Solver is not hungry, is she trapped in Uzi? -WHY DID THEY MAKE SUCH AN INTERESTING CHARACTER LIKE DOLL TO KILL HER?! -Why didn't they expand on the information about the Solver? Even Bill Cipher, without needing to tell his origin, was better explained. -How did the Sover get out of the mansion and destroy the earth? -Why are the laboratories above corporate but a mine below? -WHAT IS A CHURCH DOING THERE?! (Literally in a text they say that it was already there, which made me strongly think that there would be time travel at the end) -WHAT THE HELL IS THE CURE PLOT FOR?! IT WAS USELESS! Anyway... I thought Murder Drones was a series like Gravity Falls or Evangelion or even FNAF where every detail at the end would have an explanation but it wasn't like that. Even so, we had a happy but VERY open ending, whatever they say, THEY HAVE TO CONTINUE WITH THIS UNIVERSE... at least the fans already have their own projects underway, I may be part of one. I love well told stories, and Sy-fy and horror are my all-time favorites, that’s why I always prefer this show over TADC, humor and action were a secondary priority for me, I always came back for the story but they rushed everything and thought that with one epic final fight the fandom would magically forget all the details and lore they’d been feeding us for 3 YEARS, please this is not just any Netflix show, this was a story made over 3 YEARS, how can they make everything be resolved at the end with one fight? You watch the entire series and you feel like it’s a Netflix show, but it’s when you realize the true time lapse between one episode and another that you realize it was a waste of time that they ended up going for a standard story structure but with a SUPREMELY INTERESTING backstory. I love the show and it will always have a special place in my heart, my favorite indie animated series has finished its journey, thank you Glitch, Liam, the fandom. I study multimedia production/graphic design just to make my own stories whether it be a comic, a video game, a series, an animation, or my highest expectation... a movie. I LOVE YOU ALL.
This episode for ME was: -In action: PEAK, we got what we wanted Uzi Vs. Cyn, and the others doing their part too! Nobody just stood there watching, EVERYONE did something. And I always love a creative way to kill an OP villain (I completely forgot Cyn was weak to sunlight too), chaotic and awesome. -In characters: MID, but I’m not gonna complain about that because it’s the final episode so it was all about wrapping everything up, although for a moment V opened up to N, then they ignored that, I thought Uzi would be a bit more serious but in the end he didn’t change much, kinda disappointed, let’s not even talk about J. The music/atmosphere: I CAN’T WAIT FOR THE SOUNDTRACK TO BE RELEASED! -In LORE: DISAPPOINTED! HOW ARE THEY GOING TO LEAVE THE PLOT HOLES UNSOLVED?! UZI ABSORBS CYN AND A DOLL?! (When Uzi collapses after eating Cyn, we get a momentary glimpse of him having the EXACT Doll Vision from ep7, don’t worry guys, Russian Mommy is alive), I thought they were going to explain more about Solver, or Cyn at least, but no… Cyn is just the Villain they have to defeat and nothing more, what a waste. Ugh, I REALLY think the show was going to be more serious, that way it will basically trick viewers who watched the first few episodes into thinking this was going to be a relatively normal show. I’m disappointed because ep7 made me think ep8 was going to be just as dark and serious, but Liam and Glitch have other plans. In the end it was more like Gravity Falls, where it’s funny at first and then it started getting darker and darker, but only that… moments, because in the end the story seems TOO RUSHED. But Murder Drones isn’t like that… or at least, that’s what I thought before, there are so many plot holes that are unresolved, or unexplained or at least they need to be explained more, like the Solver, the Earth massacre, who killed Nori, etc. DAMN IT GLITCH, WHY COULDN’T THE SERIES HAVE 10 EPISODES?! IT’S OBVIOUS THAT YOU JUST WANT TO END ALREADY TO MOVE ON TO SOMETHING ELSE. But hey, at least we have the happy ending that we all want And I think they can do more things, like prequel/side story/sequel mini episodes to balance everything out and at least the story can be complete or at least better told. THANKS TO ALL GLITCH, LIAM AND THE FANDOM, I LOVE YOU ALL. NOW, LET’S GET CRAZY!
    More Thoughts about Ep8
The main story ended up pretty good, in fact, the more time passes the better my perspective of the episode is, but it's like if a building burned down and you say: "Well, at least the 1st floor and the foundation are okay", but the rest of the place is a mess, that's having "tunnel vision", focusing on just one point and forgetting the rest. Let me ask you a question.
Didn't you feel ANYTHING when after two chapters that revolved around finding a cure and Uzi NOT USING HIS POWERS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and that maybe N could lose her forever by being possessed, in the end everything was resolved in "Don't be afraid of her" and that's it? Didn't you feel that it was a waste of time and pure unnecessary drama? Gosh, why didn't they say that to Doll for example? The poor girl DIED looking for that cure.
I thought Nori would be really worried about Uzi when she found out the cure was destroyed, or that Uzi would now use all his cognitive potential, his friends, and his allies to fight the Solver without his powers, that's what I thought would happen when Uzi appeared in the trailer with his new weapon. Or that maybe they'll show a lot more internal fighting between Uzi and Cyn, that way it wouldn't feel like he's getting off so easy, not to mention that scene where Uzi almost infects Cyn, at what point did he gain so much control as to fight the PLANET DESTROYER internally? IN THE PREVIOUS EPISODE IT POSSESSED YOU WHEN IT HAS THE LEAST CHANCE!
Also, I feel like it was an INSULT that the characters weren't affected mentally and psychologically after everything that happened? The closest was when N sees Cyn on the platform and when he's looking for them in the hallway, and V the same, only in the hallway scene. For having come close to death on more than one occasion in just one episode, I think they're doing pretty well.

I know my comment make look like I hate the episode but i'm think the episode was an 8/10, BUT, when I remember is a SERIES FINALE i give it a 6/10, it was just about action but zero lore. All that Drama, horror and lore that I love about the series? GONE, I was just 15 minutes of fights and the LORE was forgotten. Why, WHY?! A little piece of the Lore could pleased me and the rest of the fans that TOOK THE SHOW SERIOUSLY. I know most of the fans love the show, but remember that EVERY fandom has two sides, the casual and the serious, and i'm ALWAYS in the serious part, because I take my likes very seriously, no matter how the rest of the world see it. ¿Kaijus? ¿Mechs? ¿Sy-fy Horror? I TAKE THEM VERY SERIOUSLY. Believe me, the massive comment I write, I put them in TH-cam channels (In English and spanish), and reddit and the people that agreed with me, was part of that serious side. Basically, the casual and not so serious part of the fandom (That are the majority) are pleased or at least conform with the ending, but the serious one, who theorize, analize, love every part of the show, is DISSAPOINTED.

@@KaijuTV1954 I hear what you're all saying here. I am going to say that TADC did not kill Murder Drones. They were already working on getting the Gaslight District months before TADC struck it big! With their smaller staff at that time, there was no way they could have juggled three quality shows at the same time. TADC gave them such an infusion of funds that they were able to grow their studio to do even more, and it's clear from their marketing that Kevin and Luke want more Murder Drones. But Liam pitched one season, and Liam's creative history is very indicative that they he tells direct stories and finishes them, or makes something so big that he's never able to finish it, especially on his own. Glitch gave Liam all the resources and motivation he needed to finish Murder Drones. Its flaws are what they are because Liam is still growing and improving as a storyteller.
When I think of his experience and portfolio in comparison to the people they've handed Rings of Power to, Liam is sprinting circles around them! But he's still learning, and I think that when he's ready, if he did a critical review of his own series, there is a ton that Liam can take away from Murder Drones to make his next show even stronger.
Episode 8 didn't pull back the curtain to reveal much in the way of new lore, but the story did bring a lot together to help us piece a lot of things together. The problem is that the audience should not be doing the work on half of this stuff, but it should have been done in show. And that is a balance of world building and explanations that is hard for many writers to get right. And it will definitely be something I do in my larger retrospective.

It's better to see Absolute Solver not so much as a program as it is an actual creature. It uses computers to communicate and perform some of its feats, but there is a more eldritch quality to its actions and results. The creature has also become assumed a greater personality as the series has gone on, possibly indicating that assimilating Cyn and Tessa, while focusing on tormenting N, has caused some fundamental changes. As one other person has suggested, it's becoming its own person and not just a monster hell-bent on consuming everything.

The only thing we know is that cyn possibly wants revenge because she got disposed of. I dont know why they would do this. If you didn't like it, that's fine. But I never realistically expected to get anything more Absolute Solver, its origins, or its motivations. That's antithetical to a Lovecraftian horror story. People fear what they don't understand, and we are never meant to understand the eldritch gods and their natures.
Would I have loved to get more? Sure! And it should have been longer. And as far as we can tell with Cyn, the first she wanted was to not be alone. That was what invited Absolute Solver in. It then twisted and warped her personality and motivations as it inhabited her, taking those desires to not be alone and not wanting to be disposed of, transforming them into the desire to kill others and perversely keep around the people closest to her thanks to Absolute Solver's own desire to consume everything.
Like any good Lovecraftian story the lore is in the observation.
Now, I can totally understand where people feel that the rest of the cast got done dirty because they were not given much time at all or a real chance to shine and culminate their character arcs. And those feelings are absolutely justified.

There are either bad antagonists that just want to kill like esdeath from akame ga kill, or ones with such great motives conveyed by their backstory like eren yeager that would spark a national moral debate.
It seems like we need to know more about the origin of the AS and not just have it hanging there.
The ending feels like AOTs season 1 ending that goes like "yea everything is fine for now at least". Yet they still didnt knkw anything about the titans

@@onabs7107 Normally, yes. What makes a good villain is its character, encompassing its personality, history, motivations, relationships, etc. But because this is a Lovecraftian horror, those rules can be thrown out the window. Liam played fast and loose with those parameters by giving Absolute Solver an amalgamated personality that developed with the people it consumed, which in turn made loads of people either like Cyn or really want that runt to get squashed. He did what Lovecraft would never have done and made an eldritch entity personable.
Now then, going that far creates the expectations that we would get more of her character. But because Liam was always developing this story as a Lovecraftian tale, the monster CANNOT be explained. That removes its mystique which is essential to the fear it induces in the cast and audience. So the debate that does open up is was Liam wrong to make Absolute Solver an entity that could have feelings and personality or was it the right move. For a good comparison, you can check Murder Drones against another cosmic horror: The Thing.

@@camillesharem the fact that the main protagonist and some other characters could use that demonic power to their advantage reduces its horror factor to near zero. It feels like in the realm of robots, stuff like that must have an explanation that isnt supernatural such as a failed human experiment that went rogue or smth. All we can do is speculate. That would make for a good plot twist, seeing what task were the humans interested in solving. Could it be fighting some ancient form of extraterrestial entity?
