Colregs, in many of the rules, refer to ‘not impeding the passage’. At several other places, there is a mention of the duty to giveway or to keep out of the way. A navigator must understand the difference between not impeding and keeping out of the way. For this, it is extremely important to understand the meaning of Rule 8(f). Capt. S.S. Chaudhari with his immense association with students is able to explain the details in his present video.
