Yeah my experience with lk is garbage, simple countess runs pay off way more frequently, a motivated countess farmer could get a ber worth of forum gold in maybe 3 days?
@@schuhey7021 this is offline LK players7. LK and countess aren't worth farming online because of the map and player 1. For online, travincal horking is the most efficient way. I personally farm Chaos and Baal because I don't play barb.
@@thaipham1991 even offline my lk history is crap, never had higher than Mal and that wasn’t from a superchest. The odds are just too long so you have to put in hundreds of hours. Horking is the same, you can get great stuff but the odds are long and its boring as shit. Keys/countess runes/c rushing for hellforge produce more value reliably if you are willing to trade for what you want.
@@thaipham1991 Huh, countess not worth the farming because of the map? Have you seen "Llama's Maphack in your head" video? The entrance and exit layouts are linked so it's fairly easy to get to level 5 if you know how to read the map.
@@schuhey7021 maybe you aren't doing it right? I have about 60 hours doing LK runs and have found many many runes from Mal to ber. I have at least 15 sur runes. Sur is very common in LK super chests, you have a better shot at sur than you do at Gul, ist, vex, ohm, and Lo.
Llama can you make a video covering blizz-orb build? Max out blizzard and frozen orb, then icebolt (synergy for both) and cold mastery, then ice blast and glacial spike as far as u can. You lose a little synergy damage on blizzard but you gain frozen orb and it no longer shares cd or delay with blizzard so you can spam both on repeat and it does a ton of damage and feels great using both together.
I have a challenge for you Llama, or anyone else reading. Hardcore melee build looting chests/stashes/corpses/urns etc etc. Basically anything without a health bar you can loot. Gold transfer is not allowed , but you can sell any item for gold and you cannot buy an equitable item from a shop. Hell forge & solder quest is allowed, as is charsi quest as long as the item is from a source without a health bar of course. Quest reward items such as rings/class specific items from Anya is not allowed. Countess drops is not allowed. I'm currently doing this challenge myself as a holy shock zealer in nightmare act 3. Will switch to vengeance once I have a better weapon. Lower Kurast is basically my home until I find what I need (Eth oath small crescent would be sweet) No bow ama allowed (Exception is the melee side)
Goodness the RnG gods were with u. Only time I ever seen this good of RnG was on non ladder when I got two jah to drop in travs(within a day). But this....within an hour my goodness... Sheessh
SUR has the highest chance in LK. Here is the number of runes you'll get on average from 65536 opened chests on player 7/8 settings: Ber 3 Sur 11 Lo 2 Ohm 5 Vex 6 Gul 11 Ist 7 Mal 15 65536 chests = 10923 LK runs (with 6 super chests per map). With Sorc and a good map (both bonfires next to waypoint) you can do 10K runs under 50 hours which makes it the best HR spot in singleplayer. You only need nerves of steel to survive the repetiveness . ;}
LK has provided me with 1 ber and 3 ohms and 1 jewel that sold for a ber and Lo in many months of playing and I’ve never gotten anything off super chests… mainly logs and corpses LOL the super chests have been mega flops for me.
Exactly the same for me. Been farming roughly an hour per day the last month with 2-3 minute runs and highest I got from super chest is a Vex but have gotten 2 Ber and 2 Sur from regular chests and monsters.

Finally figured it out. Mrllamasc’s TH-cam voice; play his twitch streams like this video at 1.25-1.5x speed and you’ll see. He just talks a little higher and faster on TH-cam because he wants to put out information, on twitch he is just sort of playing and talking casually.
I was never rich playing D2, and that's because when it gets to the point when you're doing that, teleporting around, opening chests and exiting the game like an arse, I'd rather do something else. It has to resemble an adventure with fantasy elements for it to be interesting for me, killing some monsters at least. By the time I get enigma I usually stop playing, 'cause teleporting around just feels like the game is broken.
I feel the same way, Ive always wanted to have a super high level character but by the time i hit level 85 and finish hell, i sit there thinking "what now?"
I found a ber within my first 10 LK runs in SP. Fast forward a few days later and found a jah on my first arcane sanctuary run. Now I have an enigma in SP after barely starting D2R and haven’t played in weeks lol. Kinda wish it took longer for me to make it
I swear on my life I think I have done about 5K Lower Kurast runs and I have found 1 Ohm and 1 Ist. That's it. P1-P5-P8 name it. These kind of videos legit pisses me off.
Obligatory whine: took a Pally from 94 to 95 and a barb 90 to 94 on C Baals this week. 10 Diablo essences, 2 Baal Essences a LUM and a KO rune. Never lucky!
Craziest thing happened. I see your vid, log in to make a game, just enter a random p3 one, and run LK. Founr Io from log, Ber from hidden stash and Pcom 34lifer from a skeleton in the same run. I think i broke the game somehow.
@@ageorgiev89 I mean, I'm an anomaly. Since the launch of D2R, haven't got a rune higher than Ist. I don't play it all the time, but when I do, it's usually 6-8 hours a day for at least 2 weeks. Been farming CS, AS, LK, Pindle, Countess, Pits, Andy, Mefisto, AT, cows, absolutely no high rune drops at all. So I can tell that if a high rune will drop for you... it will just drop regardless where you are farming. And if it won't drop, then it simply won't. RNGeesus is a twat.
I’ve been playing D2R on switch and doing Lower Kurast or Mephisto with my blizz sorc to gear up and it’s been all very weird. I did find a good map that has a loop to get back to waypoint but I generally do a 2 minute run where I kill 2-3 elite packs and pop open more chests. Also the current seed I have seems to have halberds/spears from the weapon rack so been farming eth bases there too. (Got a 4 socket eth Stygian pike and GPA) The thing is I’ve not found over a Vex from the super chests. I think I have found two Vex, one Ist and one Gul from them. The weird thing is from smaller chests and monsters I have found 2 Ber and 2 Sur. Just got my second Ber off a leaper. Anyway seems to be working but I am not doing the 30 second super chest only runs.
Yea I do LK runs the same way you do and I've found more off random mobs than I have from the super chests. And like you said the weapon racks can be real nice.
What annoys me with D2R on the Switch is that the loading times take too long. It takes for me around 15 seconds to jump into game, and 5 seconds for every waypoint.
Wouldn't an increased run/walk speed made the runs quicker? He is using travs, right? And MF doesn't help with chests. It would just be a fraction of a second every round but in the bigger scheme of things, it's more runs. Just a thought.
Does player count matter when trying to find mid and high runes. I know that hire player counts in single player are going to give larger drops which is going to increase the chance for a high rune but what I’m asking is is it necessary. In other words if you’re just running LK runs on player one or player three are there runes that you’re never going to see just because the player count is just to low??
MrLlama, if you read this, maybe you are interested in answering the following question. You have been on record of saying that the endgame of diablo 2 is great and should be something to strive for (like for d4 and stuff), but to me LK runs are the best example of why I think d2 endgame is the worst part about the game. Everything else is great, equipment/stat system is brilliant, playthrough/leveling experience is amazing, but what you actually DO to efficiently grind is SUCH a bummer. Like honestly, rifts are much more fun to grind and I hated everything the did with d3 after reaper of souls. In fact I believe the initial vision of Inferno mode being the lategame was my favourite version of the game if it wasn't for how rare good items were due to the real money AH. As much as I love D2, I really hope they learn more from d3 endgame rather than d2 endgame. What do you think?

@@Jaces87 yes, finding two bers in one day is lucky, but I think it can't compare to finding two surs and one vex in 20 minutes. It depends on the time-span between the two bers though
@@chrisalonso1603 No you do change the difficulty to NM and back to HELL, then go find the bonfire camp... if there is only 1 or 2 far apart, you repeat until there are 2 close together. And then you farm and dont switch difficulties, so the map remains the same.
Crazy these runs. Today I was running like for 6hrs and got nothing from super chests. Just lem and pul from other clickables. And now I got sur and gul from clickables during single run...😂
Is it even worth to farm the LK chests with an online character? Since you get a new map each time and you can't increase the players number without actually being in a game with other players as far as I know.
I've been playing D2 for years but have never "done the hard yards" . The only option I have is switch version due to a eight year laptop but I guess I will try again and see how I go.
I have probably done thousands of Lower kurast runs over the 20 years I have been playing this game and nothing good came out of those super chests! However I did manage to get a couple of IST and a OHM rune off the random corpses near the campfires since D2R has come out. In fact I dont think I have ever had anything good come out of a super chest ever! All my drops were just off barrels, bodies, and normal chests.
Question about LK. Is there any difference in running LK in Hell before or after killing Baal? For instance I’ve progressed all the way through to the Anya quest with a level 83 summon necro (offline). But I haven’t completed out Act 5 or killed Baal in Hell. I’ve never found anything higher than a Io rune running LK and I’ve run them a ton. Wondering if the drops are capped or something until Baal is killed. Similar to cow level??
I dont think ill ever truly belive the magic find math/statistics that are supposedly the mechanics of what drop. Ive put thousands of hours into this game. Overall the best runes ive found have been 3 ohms, a bunch of ists , and one Lo. Thne lost ark came out and i played that for a few months. One night when they were doing maintenence I came one for 10 mins. The very first thing i did was do a trav run' and one of the councils droped a ber rune. bam
It’s easier to do runs because of static maps, and you can get more items by setting the player count. But overall, it’s a lot harder to get geared up in single player since it’s entirely RNG dependent and you can’t trade.
I did 2 days of lk run about 6 hours each on ps4 got vex sur day 1 pul sur day 2 got a cham from throne room the day before i started and got a LO rune yesterday in chaos. 4 days of rune drops. Sadly not a single skiller or decent jewel
I’ve ran about 15 hours of LK at players 7 over the past 3 days. Haul so far has been a Sur, Ber, Mal, Vex, Gul and 2 Um. No Shako though after a week of farming.
Watching this video made me wanna run trav (dunno why i see lk and think trav), but i got a sur today too now. going for a second one...think i'll get lucky? lol edit: decided to also do some LK...3rd run found me an IST. yay.
Cool I spend the same time farming online so P1 and allways new maps an highest I got was a Sol rune after 1h can we talk about streamerservers now? or is it just that online LK sucks
Online LK is only somewhat worth it in lobby games with 6 other people doing Baal or Dia runs. But then you still have the problem of changing maps. Hence why trav, chaos, cows, Baal runs and some lv85 areas as the ancient tunnels or the pit are way more profitable online for their easier maps.
Can any1 explain to me why messing around with online/offline mode to find a good map for LK then start doing Offline runs over and over ? Those runes are locked within Offline play right ? , you can use them with friends if you would play LAN right ? If i want those drops and be able to trade them online i have to go online , and there you cant set yourself up with a fancy LK layout of the map you just have to work with what you get , right ? Or am i missing out on something here ?
Eh single player is just for yourself, but cranking it up to p7 increases the drop rates. Especially effective in single player because the map stays, and you can wait for a map with two LK campfires. LK almost isn’t worth farming in p1.

i did now about 3200 lk runs since the start of d2r and i got only 1 sur rune out of them. okay i have to admit that i also got enough runes for hoto, cta, fortitude and grief. ;-)
He’s resetting maps at the beginning. In single player the map doesn’t change if you stay in the same difficulty. So he loads into normal or nightmare, doesn’t matter which, loads those difficulties deleting hell maps. Then goes to hell and looks around if it’s the map he wants. Rinse repeat. This is a really good MFing “trick” to do stuff like double super chests in LK or durance of hate level 3 next to waypoint for Mephisto, good catacomb stair spawns, etc etc.
Because the maps reset every game, and obviously p1, it definitely not worth doing these online. You’re better off running pits or chaos or whatever 85 area you want.
Can someone please let me know why his map stays generated when he does new game. When I do a new game, my map goes back to blank so I can't farm as fast as he does like in this video.
Played D2R past month and even restarted season 4 ladder. It was pretty fun, but boy I the 'Teleport' meta is the most rediculous thing i've seen in gaming history. Your practicaly forced to go sorc unless you want to spend IRL money for enigma. Or farm 2000 runs of any zone and hope for 1 high rune drop.

The super chest in Arachnids Lair is easy to find also. Chest is always top left once inside lair which is also right by the Spider Forest waypoint.

Llama has the trusted Blizzard content creator pattern. It's a Jah, Ber or Cham rune every 20 runs.

I ran LK for 5 hours a couple weeks ago and found a Mal and Ber. No such luck since.

I found my first Ber Rune at lower kurast last week!
How did you lock in the map with 2 bonfires to ensure you got that map every
time?
U can’t change the difficulty once u change from nm to hell or hell to nm it wipes the map
@@chrisalonso1603 No you do change the difficulty to NM and back to HELL, then go find the bonfire camp... if there is only 1 or 2 far apart, you repeat until there are 2 close together. And then you farm and dont switch difficulties, so the map remains the same.

Crazy these runs. Today I was running like for 6hrs and got nothing from super chests. Just lem and pul from other clickables. And now I got sur and gul from clickables during single run...😂
Is it even worth to farm the LK chests with an online character? Since you get a new map each time and you can't increase the players number without actually being in a game with other players as far as I know.
Man iv done probably over 1000 runs on p8 and haven't found anything over Mal is p7 better?

Did a bit over 1k runs and found a Vex, Sur, 2 x Guls, Lo, and multiple skillers, and jewels.

I've been playing D2 for years but have never "done the hard yards" . The only option I have is switch version due to a eight year laptop but I guess I will try again and see how I go.
I have probably done thousands of Lower kurast runs over the 20 years I have been playing this game and nothing good came out of those super chests! However I did manage to get a couple of IST and a OHM rune off the random corpses near the campfires since D2R has come out. In fact I dont think I have ever had anything good come out of a super chest ever! All my drops were just off barrels, bodies, and normal chests.
i got my first Ber in Ancient tunnels and a Cham in chaos just recently, both off trash mobs

Question about LK. Is there any difference in running LK in Hell before or after killing Baal? For instance I’ve progressed all the way through to the Anya quest with a level 83 summon necro (offline). But I haven’t completed out Act 5 or killed Baal in Hell.
I’ve never found anything higher than a Io rune running LK and I’ve run them a ton.
Wondering if the drops are capped or something until Baal is killed. Similar to cow level??

How are your load times so fast? I have a strong computer and loading into the game takes at least twice as long
I dont think ill ever truly belive the magic find math/statistics that are supposedly the mechanics of what drop. Ive put thousands of hours into this game. Overall the best runes ive found have been 3 ohms, a bunch of ists , and one Lo. Thne lost ark came out and i played that for a few months. One night when they were doing maintenence I came one for 10 mins. The very first thing i did was do a trav run' and one of the councils droped a ber rune. bam
Does offline single play have better drops..cause I notice most of the comments are based in single-player offline mode..
It’s easier to do runs because of static maps, and you can get more items by setting the player count.
But overall, it’s a lot harder to get geared up in single player since it’s entirely RNG dependent and you can’t trade.
Your ticket could be to collect money for the game and everyone else's ticket can be to do all the work!
I did 2 days of lk run about 6 hours each on ps4 got vex sur day 1 pul sur day 2 got a cham from throne room the day before i started and got a LO rune yesterday in chaos. 4 days of rune drops. Sadly not a single skiller or decent jewel

Are you playing offline or online? I noticed everytime you reset the map stays the same? Don't have to explore again and kill monsters?
If the map remains, that' confirms offline :)
Why don't you hit the super chests in KB and UK?

I’ve ran about 15 hours of LK at players 7 over the past 3 days. Haul so far has been a Sur, Ber, Mal, Vex, Gul and 2 Um. No Shako though after a week of farming.

On single player you can reset the map. So he’s going to nightmare then back to hell so the map is re rolled.

It's faster at the start of the next game to go from act4 straight to LK rather than walk all the way up to the wp in act3 then Lk

online LK does really suck.
Online LK is only somewhat worth it in lobby games with 6 other people doing Baal or Dia runs. But then you still have the problem of changing maps.
Hence why trav, chaos, cows, Baal runs and some lv85 areas as the ancient tunnels or the pit are way more profitable online for their easier maps.
Can any1 explain to me why messing around with online/offline mode to find a good map for LK then start doing Offline runs over and over ?
Those runes are locked within Offline play right ? , you can use them with friends if you would play LAN right ?
If i want those drops and be able to trade them online i have to go online , and there you cant set yourself up with a fancy LK layout of the map you just have to work with what you get , right ?
Or am i missing out on something here ?
Eh single player is just for yourself, but cranking it up to p7 increases the drop rates. Especially effective in single player because the map stays, and you can wait for a map with two LK campfires. LK almost isn’t worth farming in p1.

i did now about 3200 lk runs since the start of d2r and i got only 1 sur rune out of them. okay i have to admit that i also got enough runes for hoto, cta, fortitude and grief. ;-)
offline runs on the same map with settings set to 8 player difficulty isnt really a real example for most people

He’s resetting maps at the beginning. In single player the map doesn’t change if you stay in the same difficulty. So he loads into normal or nightmare, doesn’t matter which, loads those difficulties deleting hell maps. Then goes to hell and looks around if it’s the map he wants. Rinse repeat.
This is a really good MFing “trick” to do stuff like double super chests in LK or durance of hate level 3 next to waypoint for Mephisto, good catacomb stair spawns, etc etc.
For bnet player1 it also makes sense or waste of time?
Because the maps reset every game, and obviously p1, it definitely not worth doing these online. You’re better off running pits or chaos or whatever 85 area you want.

Can someone please let me know why his map stays generated when he does new game. When I do a new game, my map goes back to blank so I can't farm as fast as he does like in this video.
He is doing offline. Offline your maps stay the same. Online they randomize.

Played D2R past month and even restarted season 4 ladder. It was pretty fun, but boy I the 'Teleport' meta is the most rediculous thing i've seen in gaming history. Your practicaly forced to go sorc unless you want to spend IRL money for enigma. Or farm 2000 runs of any zone and hope for 1 high rune drop.

I know it is the best spot to find high runes, but I can't bring myself to farm lower Kurast chests, farming chests is so incredible boring to me.
