This guitar was found on the side of the road in the garbage - my friend picked it up and gave it to me to see what I could do with it. I think I have decided to turn it into an Octave Mandolin / Mando Guitar... crazy, right? I was inspired but some beautiful Octave mandolins made by Northfield instruments. It has some issues with the headstock, but other than that, it is in very good shape. Let me know in the comments what you think. Stay tuned for more videos to come in the series.

Ever thought of inserting the loop through the hole of the ball end just far enough to then thread the other end of the string through the loop?

Good idea - that would work too... just was worried that it might be too bulky to fit in the hole properly.
