    Great tutorial of a song I first heard as a 12 year old back in 1974.

      It's really cool that someone can create a piece of art that sticks with us for so long, the guy was just effortlessly cool as well

    Thanks SO much for putting so much effort into a somewhat obscure bit of music. I've loved this song for years and always thought the solo was out of my grasp, but thanks to you I've nailed it in one (very dedicated) afternoon. You're awesome.

      Aw man that's awesome, really glad to hear it! There are some trick runs, but other than that it's not too tough a solo. Hope you have fun jamming this one out 🤘

    I've always loved this song and longed to know how to play this incredible solo. I've now cracked it if i play it slowly. You have totally made my week! Thank you brilliant lesson.

    Brilliant stuff, as others have said I remember this song as a kid back in the 70's and it still makes the hairs stand up. Thanks for taking the time to get the solo down like this, I might finally now be able to master it with a bit of time, its an up-beat foot stomper that really does make you smile.
    Cheers

      It's a cracking tune, great solo too. You're spot on about it being a kind upbeat foot stomper! Hope you have fun with the solo 🤘

    Brilliant. As others have said, you really take the time to explain the phrases, groupings of notes, which is key to the solo. I'll give it my best shot. Would really love to get fluent at this.

      I doubt many folk play it verbatim (I think I got a few bit wrong here as well!), maybe hitting a few key licks here and there? Really glad that this can add a wee bit something to your version!

  • @CanavanOfficial

    Liked and subscribed mate. Thanks for this tab, I just learned a version of this solo on ultimate guitar what sounds really good but this sounds very close to the original. I'm gonna learn this version when I can get my hands on my guitar tomorrow. Thanks again mate, great video, slow speed was a real help, aswell as using TH-cam's 0.25 speed it give me a chance to see every note being played.

  • @pauloguitar4366
    @pauloguitar4366 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Mildly inaccurate, nothing serious though, just the timing and some picked repeated notes after those little pull offs.

    • @JbfMusicGuitar
      @JbfMusicGuitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, with an improvised solo it's always a bit tricky to transcribe!
      If you can timestamp specifically what's wrong and include suggested corrections, that will likely help others out. Would be interesting to see if it's the same parts I wasn't totally convinced with :)

    • @pauloguitar4366
      @pauloguitar4366 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@JbfMusicGuitar sure hmm, I dunno if I can type it well here. There's a little thrill in the beginning, he does 5h7p5, then picks 5 again on the D string quickly. The second slide 5s7 gotta wait a bit more, it's like 3 beats before sliding, like, just after the keyboard chord, then slide, and then when he does the thrill thing from 8h10p8 of the B string, he does the same thing again, he picks the 8 of the G string after the little thrill. Next part after the little tremolo I think he does 12p10 10 on the B string and 12 on the G string, little pause, 12 12 12p10/9 on the G string, pause, 9 10 12 10 9 on the B string again then 12 10 10/12 12 12. Again, he does the 10h12p10, then picks 10 quickly again on the B string. The very last note of the solo he picks twice, the 10 in the A string. Well, that's about it, sorry if it's confusing, I have no idea how to write a tab here. Or I can try some cellphone recording of how I do it :). I'll write a timestamp with all that I said here, just to simplify

      th-cam.com/video/XM1SN00lh3I/w-d-xo.html this is a cover of mine. Excuse me the quality, it was recorded by cellphone, and I'm a bit rusty, recovering from repetitive strain disorder lol.

    • @JbfMusicGuitar
      @JbfMusicGuitar  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@pauloguitar4366 Yeah there were a few of those trills, where I couldn't tell if he picked the note after or not for sure! There were a few slurred timings as well, that I might have rushed a bit.
      Interesting, I hear that 5/7 slide as being on the 3rd beat, rather than after it. I couldn't follow the rest of it though, sorry! Hopefully will be of use to someone though!
