I'm from nottinghamshire and i have my driving test in three days, watching all of your videos are helping me re-cover old ground which is so so useful! Thank you so much for your time and effort that you put into these. :)
When you enter a new road I like to assess road width regarding cars parked just on the left and whether the road is wide enough to share the space and go out and round. In light traffic with few parked cars timing approach to not get a three cars across road situation is best. When busier this cannot be avoided so assessing road width before it becomes an urgent decision is sensible. If you don't do this indecision can lead to disaster. Similarly on coming traffic not giving way is not a surprise.
Hi, I have done a video on cross roads and cross roads with lights on. But the unmarked ones are few are far between. The advise that I can give you is: 1 on approach slow down and see if it is obvious who has priority. 2. on approach slow down and if it is not clear who has priority get eye contact and give way to the other driver. Good luck on your next driving test.
my problem sometimes is that when i drive on a road with parked cars on left side and there is a car approaching, I'm not always sure whether to go or not, sometimes the space is wide enough for two cars sometimes it's not, but im not sure how to judge this yet.
I've got my test soon but I struggle with moving off from junctions fast to the point where i'm so slow I become a hazard to those already on the road.
+Destiny Emakpor I would go to a quiet road and practice moving off in a straight line. Use your handbrake and have your clutch a bit higher each time to see how fast you can move off. Then when you are getting the hang of it, try at junctions.
Hi, I always end up thinking that i can squeeze through any gap when meeting traffic. I can't tell when the space on the road is big enough for the car to squeeze past and my instructor has to do an emergency stop to stop the car and allow the other cars to go past. Any advice on how to judge if your car will squeeze through please?
+butterfly98971 rather than your instructor doing an emergency stop. Try airing on the side of caution more. Also ask your instructor to ask you in advance about what you are going to do, that will give your instructor time to prompt you into the correct action.
+Happysmilee Jojo that's a common thing with learners. As you improve it will ease. But a quick fix would be to remember that you have paid to drive on the road, so you are entitled to drive amongst all the other drivers. If you find your level of driving suffering, then go to some quiet roads and work on the errors. Hope that advise helps
Very helpful - my instructor told me, when stopped + waiting, to always wait in first gear and hold biting point ready - so I never go into neutral..is it better to go into neutral?
Hi, if you are giving way to meeting traffic or at a give way point then you will be wanting to move off as soon as it’s clear, so your instructor is right to not go into neutral and to select 1st to move off.
+Dean Jnr Hannon hi in the UK if you commit a driving offence you will receive penalty points that stay on your driving licence record for an amount of years. Once you pass 12 points your licence is revoked. If you are a learner who has just passed, then no more than 6 points in two years.
Learn-to-drive Travis thx just wondering cuz im gonna take my driving test in a year when im 17 but not straight away tho prob in 6months of being 17 Btw cheers for the tip travis

Practice more and it gets easier. If in doubt, give way, and over time you will get a better idea of the width of the road and the car. Good luck

Can you do a video on when you overtake cars safely
I know how to meet traffic and plan but I have a bad habit of zoning out and I’m not good with unexpected situations what do you suggest I do?
Practice meeting on quiet roads to spot hazards then move onto busy ones
