Thanks for your tutorials. I've got a small problem. I'm using the standard scroll up title - the one that comes with PD 16 for end credits. The way it is designed, the screen starts black and then the credits start to roll. I'd like to start with the first batch of credits full-screen because I'm trying to sync the title with music and the extra blank screen at the beginning makes the title too long. Shortening the duration of the title doesn't get rid of the black screen and makes the title move too quickly. Any ideas?
Peter, The title you are using has a "Scroll Up" starting effect. In order to manipulate the text more precisely you would need to disable the scroll up effect and use key frame position values to slide the title text up. Then you could start with the text on the screen. I can make a tutorial on customizing the scrolling of text if that would help. --Jim

You don't need to copy five times to paste five times. Copy once(Ctrl+C), the item now is in "clipboard", then paste(Ctrl+V) as many times as you want or need. The only thing that cannot be copy-pasted in latter Power Director software is the transition effects.

I use Cyberlink Power Director 14 Ultra, which has every tool I need for what videos I produce. I also have Power Director 8 Ultra for other purposes. That's how I know(through my own experimenting) what can and can't be done in this software.
In PD14 Ultra, I've learned to create an effect with some of the transitions like "Chain Reaction", "Dominos", "Flip", "Flip 2", "Fragments, "Full-Twist" and others that have an alpha background that I can insert an image behind them. I set my transitions to a default 5 seconds duration, so, when I insert an effect like this, I count back 10 seconds on the previous scene, split and pull the 10-seconds down onto Video Track 2. The next scene has 10 seconds counted off from the beginning, split and that 10-seconds is pulled down to Video Track 2, I then find my wanted still image and insert on Video Track 1, I then drop one of the previously-mentioned transition effects on the split portions of the previous and next scene, then drag my still out to fill any gap. Result: still image appears behind transition effect instead of black.
Yes you can. First you add the font to your version of Windows. Then open PowerDirector. If you want to create a new title with the font, go to the Titles Room, click on the file folder at the top [the rectangle with the plus in the right corner] and that will let you create a new title template. You can design a new template with your newly added Windows font. As an alternative, you can edit any existing template and use any font that is loaded in Windows. Hope this helps. --Jim

I use Cyberlink Power Director 14 Ultra, which has every tool I need for what videos I produce. I also have Power Director 8 Ultra for other purposes. That's how I know(through my own experimenting) what can and can't be done in this software.
Nothing like hands-on experimenting to figure out the abilities and limits of the software, Neil. --Jim
Neil Forbes I think it can be done anyway
where Can I dowload your cursor effect?
Please help me understand what you mean when you talk about my cursor effect? Not sure what you are referring to. Thanks. --Jim
Thanks for the great title tutorial here.
William,
Welcome! Glad you found this useful! --Jim
could you add your own fonts Into this program??? nice tutorial as well.
--Jim
Nothing but great! Love it
Thanks again. --Jim

Thanks for the compliment. I'm too corrupt to be anyone's god. But I do know the real one, and maybe that influences me to be helpful to you. --Jim

Do you have contact details? I'd like to ask a specific PD question
I don't have any contacts at Cyberlink. Wish I knew some of the decision makers myself. I've submitted some thoughts through the "Rate us and provide suggestions" drop-down, but no one has contacted me as a result. --Jim
@@SharperTurtle thanks for the reply. I mean details for yourself
Thank you
Thanks for your comment. Always welcome. Let me know how I can help you along your video editing journey any time. --Jim
Most effective!
Chris,
Good to hear from you again. I trust your summer is going well and that you have some opportunities to have fun and grow your shooting and editing skills. -- Jim
I added CDR and am now trying to figure out what to do with it.
I had to chuckle at your remark. (I assume you're speaking about Color Director, which I have not obtained yet.) I'm with you when I look at some of the features and ask myself, "What do I do with this?" Some of the bells and whistles Cyberlink makes available address issues most of us don't wrestle with on a day to day basis. Figuring out how and when to use them can be a challenge. --Jim
I got this fantastic discount for Color Director 5 and even managed to apply a discount code. So I have been poring over everyone's tuts to see what I can do w/ it.
I need to keep my eyes open for a discount for Color Director. I really should offer tutorials on it as well. :) --Jim
👍🏾
Thanks for the thumbs up! --Jim
I thought it was starting good no kidding
That was a fun one. --Jim
