Amongst other things, watching your tutorials has taught me the power of direct data entry. Previously I would click and drag things all over the place and then you wanna get the next one in the same place and it can be a pain. Even with the benefit of the alignment lines. But now I’ve learned to Keyin what I want on something and seeing what it is being able to direct kit into the next graphic, mask, whatever.
But recently I stumbled into and learned the power of copy and paste keyframe attributes. When I’m doing a slideshow of moving a bunch of pictures around in the middle of a video. All I do now is create the first one. The fade in the fade out, the position, the opacity and each keyframe scale and whatever. Then I copy keyframe and paste it to the others. And they are all laid over the top of each other then all I have to do is drag them or key entry in the new starting position for each one and I have saved myself TIME. .

Aother new trick I learned. Tqvm Malek. Can we make a text motion that will swirl horizontally in circular motion?
No. You can create text with a green background and produce the clip of the text. Then bring the produced clip back onto a timeline track, use my spin tutorial to make it spin horizontally, and apply chroma key to remove the green background. How about if you did a screen record of the one you created with the color background that you created.
Then you could probably do a save as.
And you would have it exactly as you created it ? Do you think that would work ?

The issue with the titles is really, that the object colors can´t be changed. That makes it pretty much useless for most cases, if we cant be adjusted to the color style of our own video. While some of the motion graphics are really cool, the colors are pretty ridiculous. I really hope they come up with some improvements on that.
Me too. The inability to change the colors and shapes really holds this tool back from potentially being a game changer for PD.

This is normal. According to their website the motion graphics are only compatible with PD 18 or above. bit.ly/3oeiiwL

Excellent tutorial as always. I wish Powerdirector had motion graphic for LOWER THIRDS (like we see on the News, e.g fox, cnn etc)
There are a few news lower thirds that come with PD 365 in the TV Broadcast pack.

Nice video. If you want to keep the background with the title (particularly if it is more complex with several layers (eg paticles) 'produce' as a video and just add from the media files. This means that it can have transitions in and out and it can also be used as a PIP. What do you think? David
Turning Point Communications Yeah, but then I can’t change the text, move it to a different position, etc. If you’re always gonna use it in the same exact way then you can produce it and not save the template.

Sure. You can create your own using your logo.

Great content, as always! Can I use PD to create a stinger or lower third for streaming in OBS, etc? Seems like there are a lot of options for doing this with free software (usually including DaVinci) but why can't I do this with PD? I assume it would involve saving the PD-created "animated title" on top of a clear screen and exporting to OBS.
Thanks. No you can't use PD for that. PD doesn't have the option to create files with an alpha layer (transparent background) so when you produce/export the video it will have a black background. You can use a green color board and place the lower third over that. If OBS has a chroma key option, after you bring the lower third into OBS you can key out the green background and only the lower third will remain.
@@PDU_Tutorials Thought as much. I tried the chromakey trick but even with the most obnoxious green background I get some funky shading in OBS from time to time (i.e. when streaming concerts, there's always a stage light or costume or something that shimmers with colors as OBS tries to filter out the green. Also tried with a couple of other "unusual" background colors but something always wiggles through). Thanks anyhoo!

I like your video. But what if I want create my own motion graphic. There are some nice templates in pd18 but not quite what i want. Is there a way to create your own template?
Johan de Wit As I stated in the video you are limited to the changes you can make in Motion Graphics. You can’t make your own using this tool. You can create your own graphics in a photo editor import them into PowerDirector and use the PIP Designer to create animations/motion.
Can you make audio visual graffics used to view while your listening to a music track on TH-cam... with POWER DIRECTOR??????

It is called PowerDirector Essentials. It is a scaled down version of the program and will not have some of the features in this tutorial.
I have Powerdirector 16, how can i add more "content" under the title tab? I only have 11 under "All Content" and i see you have "477" and motion graphics is not in mine also. In addition, is it possible to upgrade from PD 16 ultra to PD 19 ?
You can’t upgrade from 16 to 19. You have to buy 19 at the regular price. The CyberLink store has lots of title packs and effect packs available but you have to buy each one. The best value is to get the 365 subscription. Otherwise you can buy each pack separately.

Quick tip. You can take that set up and make a 5 second MP4 including the background. Then simply import that media file when you are working on your video. Too, you could include background music for the five second clip so now your MP4 has the motion graphic, the background and the music. Keep that mp4 in a file and you are good to go. Channel or series branded. :) Peace y'all

You can create assets using a compositing program not an editing program.

How do you make the moving Arows in your video
My screen recorder has the option to add them. It is called Camtasia. PowerDirector use a tutorial creation pack that has arrows and other shapes. bit.ly/2ZH2Jok
It's actually How to Use Motion Graphics in PD18. When I read the title, I thought you were going to explain How To Make the motion graphic that you used. I guess what I expected was a trite more in-depth for you usual class.
Mark Lang You can create your own graphics with a photo editor and then animate them in PD. I show how to do that in my Lower Third tutorial.

The app for Android / iOS or the PC version? You can get both for free and you can produce videos. They will both be scaled down versions (at least after the initial 30 days) and may include a watermark on your videos.
I can't use motion titles in Mine it says i need to have a feature called directX11 for windows 7 and i have a windows 10, does anyone know how i can fix it and thank you

It would be great if there was a way to create motion graphics from scratch and not rely on templates.

@@PDU_Tutorials When I think about it, Cyberlink must have the software to enable the creation of all these graphics, I wonder why they don't just release a version that we can use. I find the existing templates far too restrictive and very few of them really look professional. Imagine the downloads available from Director Zone if everyone could create this stuff :)
