This has to be one of the most elaborate creepypasta's I have ever seen. Also, I love how it uses graphics similar to the original Paper Mario, but has somehow taken what was a light and cute game and turned it dark and sinister. It reinforces the theme of the innocence of children being destroyed.
Personally I think the visuals were paying more homage to the PlayStation 1's visual and graphical style of games such as Klonoa, Parappa The Rappa, Tombi, and the likes. Also evidence that this is a hypothetical PlayStation 1 title and all. But anyway, totally agree, I don't think I have ever seen a creepypasta go to the lengths as this (barring a few), and honestly that's pretty awesome all considering. Mad respect for this person(s) creating this elaborate, unsettling adventure lol.
I don't think it can be considered an ARG unless there is a G element. Unless the audience is interacting with the videos and the video creator in a way to influence the story not just of Petscop the "game" itself, but also of the channel, then it's not an Alternate Reality Game

While I do agree with some of what you said, I didn't see anyone sending mass texts of Slenderman or that other one(some murderer guy with a weird face, I forget because it wasn't interesting) either. At least the Babadook can count as a horror movie, but this isn't a movie. It's just...a creepy story on the internet. Just a quick thought... Ever wonder if Care is still alive. Other people escaped. If Care Survived then, she would have had a connection with Rainer. The game is given to her, she becomes a parent. Hey MatPat, I love this video. However, with the quit game being taken away, in Petscop 13 we see Paul hit the menu in the bright over world. There too, there is no quit game. Does this mean that anywhere in the game after going in the dark underworld there is no quit game button. If so, that means Paul has no way to leave except for turning off the console, which he might have done at the end of episode 13. This means, nothing would be saved. If another episode comes out and he has saved data, that means he never quit. This could perhaps be an “opposite” analogy to the girl that got killed irl in the first game theory you mentioned. This could perhaps mean he can never quit unlike that little girl. Also, I am waiting for episode 14 to come on April 1st, the day the people that killed the little girl got released from jail exactly a year ago. I just realized. One of the things Tool says is "Also wants 1000 pieces for Machine beyond school basement stairway". Could that have to do with the pieces that Paul's character is picking up? They don't seem to have any other use, so it makes me wonder if the pieces for the machine and the pieces Paul picks up are one and the same. If that is the case, what'll happen once Paul collects 1000 pieces?
Yeah, that's a big thing a lot of people in the community have wondered as well. It's the only numbered thing that Paul can pick up in the game, so it's the most likely explanation. It is very interesting to wonder what will happen once he gets 1000 pieces.

This has to be one of the most elaborate creepypasta's I have ever seen. Also, I love how it uses graphics similar to the original Paper Mario, but has somehow taken what was a light and cute game and turned it dark and sinister. It reinforces the theme of the innocence of children being destroyed.
Personally I think the visuals were paying more homage to the PlayStation 1's visual and graphical style of games such as Klonoa, Parappa The Rappa, Tombi, and the likes. Also evidence that this is a hypothetical PlayStation 1 title and all.
But anyway, totally agree, I don't think I have ever seen a creepypasta go to the lengths as this (barring a few), and honestly that's pretty awesome all considering. Mad respect for this person(s) creating this elaborate, unsettling adventure lol.

I don't think it can be considered an ARG unless there is a G element. Unless the audience is interacting with the videos and the video creator in a way to influence the story not just of Petscop the "game" itself, but also of the channel, then it's not an Alternate Reality Game

While I do agree with some of what you said, I didn't see anyone sending mass texts of Slenderman or that other one(some murderer guy with a weird face, I forget because it wasn't interesting) either. At least the Babadook can count as a horror movie, but this isn't a movie. It's just...a creepy story on the internet. I guess it isn't technically a creepypasta, but either it should be, or we need to create a new word for creepy stories born soley on the internet, like this, Poppy, Salad Fingers, and Don't Hug Me I'm Scared.

Hey MatPat,
I love this video. However, with the quit game being taken away, in Petscop 13 we see Paul hit the menu in the bright over world. There too, there is no quit game. Does this mean that anywhere in the game after going in the dark underworld there is no quit game button. If so, that means Paul has no way to leave except for turning off the console, which he might have done at the end of episode 13. This means, nothing would be saved. If another episode comes out and he has saved data, that means he never quit. This could perhaps be an “opposite” analogy to the girl that got killed irl in the first game theory you mentioned. This could perhaps mean he can never quit unlike that little girl. Also, I am waiting for episode 14 to come on April 1st, the day the people that killed the little girl got released from jail exactly a year ago. I don’t anyone will see this comment, it’s just my theory.

I just realized. One of the things Tool says is "Also wants 1000 pieces for Machine beyond school basement stairway". Could that have to do with the pieces that Paul's character is picking up? They don't seem to have any other use, so it makes me wonder if the pieces for the machine and the pieces Paul picks up are one and the same. If that is the case, what'll happen once Paul collects 1000 pieces?
Yeah, that's a big thing a lot of people in the community have wondered as well. It's the only numbered thing that Paul can pick up in the game, so it's the most likely explanation. It is very interesting to wonder what will happen once he gets 1000 pieces.
