  • The 3rd Gen Ford Ranger is the best micro truck. First, it is typically 1/5 the price of the new micro trucks coming out. Second, jk. Just watch the video. I break down all the reason why the Ford Ranger 3rd gen from 1998-2012 is worth looking at for many different reasons like its reliability, versatility, and its pretty great specs.

    My father just gave me his 01 Ranger Edge with only 5300 miles on the truck. I pulled it out of storage and changed the tires, battery, oil and wiper blades and drove it home 85 miles last night.

    For anyone out there buying a ford ranger you should also consider the 2nd gen rangers which were produced from 93-97. They're also fairly reliable and I have found tons of them on sale for less than 2k in great shape. They also have somewhat similar interiors as the 3rd gens as well as a similar frame.

      @@akachrispy3726 right on… it’s a good truck…
      a couple things first you will have all the updated parts so that’s great! The next is very important Id recommend running synthetic oil and do your oil changes at 3K miles or 5K Km. The tensioning system relies on oil same as the new eco boost engines… the cleaner the oil the less deposits and varnish in the system. Good quality oil is key IMHO 👍

      @@akachrispy3726 There aren’t any. I babied my 2005 Ranger FX4 Off Road and the chiming chain guides failed at 198,000 miles. I ended up putting a brand new Jasper engine in it. Well worth it. My truck is rust free and still looks like new.

    The first Ford Ranger was actually a full size pickup , the second Ford Ranger was a rebadged Mazda courier . What everyone calls the first gen is actually the third gen . And what everyone calls the third gen is actually the fifth gen . My dad had an early 70s Ranger , and it was just a trim level of the f100 . The Ford Explorer was also a pickup at that time .

    • @americanidle1277
      @americanidle1277 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The F-series had a "Ranger" trim package but it wasn't a Ranger it was an F-series. The Ford Courier was a rebadged Mazda. The Ford Ranger was produced by Ford from 1982 to 2012 for model years 1983 to 2011 and had only 3 generations: 1st Gen 1983-1992 with a mid cycle facelift for the 1989 model year, this could almost be considered a different Gen because the headlight bucket was completely different but it was still the same Gen. 2nd Gen 1993-1997. 3rd Gen 1998-2011 with 2 mid cycle facelifts but all changes were bolt on and there were zero structural/platform changes for the 3rd gen. Ford themselves have determined these facts about the generations. And Mazda had nothing to do with the Ford Ranger, it was a Ford design and built by Ford. The Mazda B-series is a rebadged Ford Ranger built at the same plant on the same line, open the hood or door on any B-series and it says manufactured by Ford Motor Company not the other way around. Also, there's an article from the NY Times in 1991 where they mentioned Ford would be building a compact truck for Mazda based on the Ford Ranger

      Replace it yourself. It is a $30 part and a days work, at most. Takes a bit of research but youll be able to figure out which one it is. OR take it to a standard mechanic. Dealerships will always WAYY overprice.

    Just found your channel, I like your projects. But, you are extremely difficult to understand, and the annoying music and noises only makes it worse. Take a bit of advice from an old voice over guy. Delete the music and other extraneous noises, so that your message gets heard. It’s a horrible fad adding loud music: many of us cannot filter it out so your words are lost. And just slow down, whats the rush? Focus on clear delivery since thats what your watchers are here for, me included! I hope you take this in the spirit intended, thanks and all the best.
