The Ford Ranger is very popular back here in the Philippines and other South East Asian countries because of its overall features. Very useful in floods, high mountains, or varied terrain.
I remember the 97 ranger, its was rather snappy to drive with a manual transmission and it spun the tires rather easy making it a pretty fun and good utility machine that could get to a healthy 115 mph if you ever where in a real hurry. (My former boss wasn't too thrilled with the short longevity of the rear tires... Yet he kept lending it to me tho.)
I have the 2021 XLT FX4 with 285/70s and I love to drift it, it pulls a trailer like a dream, or you can pull a toyota uphill with its breaks on LOL and get 22 MPG while you are doing it :)

Being that it wasn't one of our trucks brought in, had to use a gas card from another vehicle just to fill her up. I actually brought wipers for it on one of my trips. Maintenance? What maintenance.?. Again, being off the books meant no money to maintain. Thing is, it kept running. Year after year, through hot and cold, sandstorms, and zero maintenance, it kept running. My very first vehicle was a 1983 Ford Ranger XL. It had the 2.0L, 4 speed transmission, and a 456 rear end. The build date on it was was 06/1982 making it one of the first Ranger's built. It has to be the toughest little truck I have ever owned and trust me I put it to the test all the time. Totally miss that truck!
I inherited a 1986 2wd 2.3 ranger. Put in a new clutch flywheel ect. Dash says 94k probably 394 idk still runs has 6x9s behind the seat and a saddle blanket seat cover i love it.
My grandfather left me his 1996 ranger when he passed away. 4 cylinder, 5 speed manual. Just recently had to install a timing belt and spark plugs and wires. The *factory plugs and wires* where still in the engine. 23 years later, they still worked. 100,000 miles.
First vehicle and still drive it to this day! 1999 3L V6 204,000 miles and has plenty of more in it. One of the best all around trucks one can get. Absolutely love it and love this video. can't wait to see what the new raptor in action hopefully the new ranger generation will be as good as the old one!!
Actually just bought my teenage dream truck a 94 Ford ranger splash standard cab flareside short bed with a 3.0 and a manual to me it really is the ultimate 90s truck
This was very informative. I didn't know the ranger has been around that long lol I live in Australia and the ranger is everywhere here lol. I didn't really like the 2012 ranger, but the 2017-2019 rangers are awesome. Top of the range ranger here is called a wildtrack. I wonder if the U.S. will get that one aswell. Great video. Keep it up.
My dad always gets a laugh at the gas crisis. Since when it hit he worked for a gas station so he got first dibs on the gas every morning so it personally had little effect on him.
Thanks for the video. I built the Ranger from 92 to 2004 also the Mazda B series in Edison NJ along with Twin cities and Louisville production. But all Mazda’s were built at Edison. They were great little trucks built by people who did take extra pride in what we were building.

I still own a 1994 Ranger Splash my parents got for me my senior year in high school. It's black, single cab, 3.0 V6/5 speed manual. I've done a few mods though - lowered 6/7, Mustang GT 17" wheels, Xenon roll pan molded into the body, clear headlight lenses/corner lenses, '00 style taillights, and of course, an aftermarket headunit. Still own my 2002 Ranger I bought new has 450k miles on it hasn’t given me any issues just simple maintenance work. Truck won’t die
Automatic or 5speed, what size engine? Looking into getting one
Lucky you. Mine wont live :(

Can you do a second channel where you tell us everything we don't need to know?
Like office antics with nolan!!
I wanted to dislike this idea but I really kind of dig it. Got my vote

I died when you said, "when my dad put his evil, inside of my Mom".
0:52 "my dad was setting up family franchises all over the US"
Lmao jesus christ, took me a second to get that.

Fiat is just sad version of Alfa romeo
Not gonna lie. I had a ranger, it blew up, then I bought a BK5 Legacy Gt 😂
Guess what will happen to the 2019 Ranger in 2022 ??

This was very informative. I didn't know the ranger has been around that long lol I live in Australia and the ranger is everywhere here lol. I didn't really like the 2012 ranger, but the 2017-2019 rangers are awesome. Top of the range ranger here is called a wildtrack. I wonder if the U.S. will get that one aswell. Great video. Keep it up.
We get those in South Africa too
We haven’t had a new ranger since we got a 2021
7:18 - Got an XLT, and that's pretty much how it feels. Apparently, AC was still optional in those models too.
My dad always gets a laugh at the gas crisis. Since when it hit he worked for a gas station so he got first dibs on the gas every morning so it personally had little effect on him.
Idk
"Hahaha this isn't affecting me so I don't care, I'm amazing!"
Put his evil in my mom......he went there alright!
His dad jokes were top notch this episode
Devin McLaughlin its funny he never found his dad at least are dads love us and don’t leave us

Do you have a little evil in you ... would you like some ?
Am waiting for Alfa Romeo next

Thanks for the video. I built the Ranger from 92 to 2004 also the Mazda B series in Edison NJ along with Twin cities and Louisville production. But all Mazda’s were built at Edison. They were great little trucks built by people who did take extra pride in what we were building.
I have one of the ones you built in twin cities.
Yeah. The Ranger Raptor. Already roaming Philippine Roads for months. One thing special bout that one: It's a W I D E & T H I C C B O I
@Katsumi Miku methinks you meant "cost". And IIRC, PhP 2.1 Million, approx.
@@DedMan28 so, around 43k dollars?
Except the I4 2.0 Biturbo Diesel engine sucks, it gives Ranger owners headache
Ranger Raptor? Well there was this ranger who got eaten by a raptor once... His famous last words were "Clever, girl." RIP.

You made me want to buy an old 1998 Ford Ranger
as a 2nd or 3rd car, parts are cheap runs u less than a tacoma
Go do it then brotha. Got my 99 for $3,000 2 years ago. Still love it every day.
@@jacksonb.valentine8208 thats a good price plus naysays are wrong cuz even with repairs youll still pay less than you would if u buy a tacoma. unless free ill take the ranger
do it bro. i had a 97 with the 3.0 i traded for a 1978 f150, loved that truck it never let me down
You can buy mine lol
I owned a 1987 ranger with the 2.9 V6 and a 5 speed manual, and that thing was like a go kart on mud tires. It was lifted on 31's. One of the most fun vehicle I've ever gotten to drive.
THE HSV SHOULD HAVE AN EPISODE FOR STRAYA
Rida Alhessany ask for GTO then. Yanks had 2001-2006 Monaro I think but no new HSV like R8 but they have caprice etc.
Yeah be good if they did a review on the hsv gts-r w1. Australia's most powerful and sexy holden lol
The American ranger looks quite different from the Australian ranger
Also don't forget that Australia designed and manufactured the 2011 Ranger.
You're welcome.
Calm down. Plenty of help from all around the world Fred. It's a way to keep Ford's massive investment there alive.

I remember being a kid and spending 7+ hours stuck in the back of my mom's Ranger's extended cab on all sorts of road trips. But damn I miss that truck.
I absolutely love that truck. I'll have it til the day I croak.

i stop watching for two seconds and when i come back he's talking about the chicken market
I had a 5 speed 4 banger 88 Ranger XLT for $600 with over 300,000 miles and as my buddy put it "on her last leg"... I called her "Ol' Bessy" and she'd go from 0 to 40 in lightning speed... getting her over 80mph needed down hill assistance to say the least lol
Still got another 50,000 until she literally blew and had to be laid to rest...
RIP sweet Ol' Bessy

The new rangers are midsized and not compact
Joshua Lovelace That’s all light trucks. What’s your point?
@@mtb416 They got bigger, people liked them because they were the size of a normal car but with a box. Now all small trucks are the same size.

1992 Ranger 2.3 5 speed, 250k and runs like a goddamn champ

Ive got a '96 ranger xlt 2.L 5 speed with only 163k. Needs some brakes and cleaning but shes amazing
Just purchased a 91 with 90k miles on it. Everything original except for some HID lights that were installed.
I also got a 96 w 210k miles still runs like a beast
Just bought my '94 Reg cab with the 2.3 paired up to a manual. Slow as fuck but starts every time.

My Grand Dad had a Datsun 521. He was a retired tobacco farmer and in the mid 70's til early 80's during Thanksgiving and Christmas all my aunts, uncles, cousins and us would go to my grandparents house and all us grandkids would jump in the back of that truck and our Grand Dad Beard would drive us down the old dirt roads through the woods and around the old fields in Cumberland county N.C. Man I miss those days.
