Great video Rob . Interesting stuff 👍🏻 good to see Archie too😊 Hope you have made progress with your knee and enjoyed your time away. Will catch up when you pick up the next bent tube order 😁👍🏻
Looking good. Make part or all of the sofa flip up (in two sections) for easy access to that storage underneath. Going gasless gives you so much more space in the kitchen both on the benchtop and underneath too. Will be worth all the hard work and weekends when you've finished.
@@PackTheVanAndGo Not bad here at the mo. Top tip if you do make a flip top for the sofa, don't hinge it right at the back, have a solid bit at the back and bring the hinge in the thickness of your seat cushion, then when you can lift up without taking the seat cushion off, it just slots into the gap at the back. Wish we'd done this with ours, as its a pain moving them to lift up to get something. Greg Virgoe has a good video on the flip up slatted sofa top
This has been one huge renovation Rob and is now looking so much different than before, much more improved too. I have no idea about the window insulation but I wish you good luck with the knee treatment. You will need them working well, so that Archie can have his long walks again and he's still thinking, when is all of this going to be finished.
Hi mate, yeah starting to feel tired and jaded a little from all the work, the bad knee and trying to get everything done for Xmas! But I’ll get there and it’ll all be worth it! Hope you’re well mate?
Coming on well chap 👍 I partially insulated my windows without issue, i used stick on foam and carpeted over it, so the window is bigger outside and smaller inside (vid on my channel) . Keep at it, it's looking sweet inside 😎👍
@PackTheVanAndGo I recon yes 👍 less surface area for condensation to form on, more insulation, slightly better sound isolation, not a huge amount i do concede but I can't see any downsides 🤔 Had mine like it 2 years now and haven't had any issues of any kind, no peeling ect but mine is sandwiched betwixt the glass and a ply window frame, I suppose heat could cause the glue to fail ? Glass does get bloody hot in the sun, especially tinted glass 🤔
You've achieved stuff mate, even if the weather was pants ;) I have exactly same issue with the windows. Ended up carpeting them and will probably create a surround at some point to just hide it all...
Small gains and all as they say mate! Going to add some sticky foam and then carpet line over the top… hoping that helps at some stage 👍 hope you’re well mate?
@@PackTheVanAndGo that sounds like a good fix for the time being. Half the fun is trying stuff and seeing if it makes it better or worse lol. Still looking for that miracle product that cuts out 100% of road noise when you're parked up and someone goes past at 80 lol
Everything's coming together nicely, Rob. Why not connect all the slats under your sofa by stapling two webbing straps to the bottom of them and screwing down just the end ones. Just butcher a cheap load strap from B&M or somewhere..
@@PackTheVanAndGo All’s well here, thanks. If you’re accessing that storage frequently then screw one end down and at the other end you just need a stop, like a dowel or a small block of wood fixed to the frame to stretch the last slat of the webbed ladder over. Hope you understand my description.
@@Peter-at-Heres-The-Thing yeah got that mate… awesome thank you so much for the help and advice! I’ll give that a shot and see if that works 👍 thanks mate

Looks amazing mate, well done you. Quick question on the auxbeam switch panel. Did you wire it to the starter battery for your lights mate or the leisure battery. Doing mine now but the run is so long for a 60 amp draw.
HI mate, initially I ran the wording to the van battery, but realised how much amps it all pulls with all the external lighting, so rewired it to the leisure battery.. hope that helps mate?
@@leelendon1482 I left the switch at panel in the cab, ran the negative wire to the vehicle battery and the ran 16mm cable to the leisure battery… i fused the positive cable twice, by the van battery and into the buss bar
Thanks Rob . Yeah I worked out 16mm would be the cable to use. You have confirmed that as well. Yeah thinking the same as I have a 300w light bar auxbeam, the rear cube lights like yours , black magic and flood cube lights on the bonnet. Think they were 80 amp a set . Totalling 460w (40amps) just for the lights.
