    Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

    I come from a long line of farmers on both sides of my family. I’ve always enjoyed being around agriculture, have a deep respect for agriculture, and love to see the advancements in modern technology in action on your farm. While I don’t actively work on a farm anymore these days and miss it dearly, your videos make me feel like I’m right there. You have no idea how happy that makes me. I really hope you don’t ever stop making these videos as they keep the public informed about the reality of how hard and stressful farming can be, but also the amazing sense of accomplishment that comes with it. I’ve always had the utmost respect and admiration for farmers and what they do for this great nation and the world, and you and your wonderful family are no exception. Best wishes on a safe and successful harvest from Maryland!

    That was some pretty impressive redirecting there Zack. Admittedly, the only thing you could do, but you did it dang good. I think one of the problems with farming is the size of the farm. The larger the farm, the more things that can break or go bad. I like seeing how you all deal with it and make it all work. Thanks again for letting me tag along and learn.

    • @michaelrussell6661
      @michaelrussell6661 ปีที่แล้ว

      These days the larger size of the farm[compared to years past] is required so a reasonable income/lifestyle can be made/had from it.
      Also the number of families still farming is getting less and less every year. And it is very expensive for someone to start farming from scratch.

    To put it on you can drive it with a sleeve or heat it to about 170-200 degrees Fahrenheit. Then it will slide on. This is assuming the shaft is ok and the housing is ok.

    Hi 👋 it's amazing how much maintenance you do. I guess it just one of them things when you work the equipment hard. It's great watching the ins and outs of what you do. Cheers

    O the wrench torque tool, lol, been there on disc and bearing change on that old krause offset disc, I do remember great days in 70s & early 80s on the farm

    Can't you wait until everything is powered by wind and Solar in MN. Those brown outs will be great during harvest.

    You should do a time lapse video of the new shed being constructed.

      Too bad we didn’t think of along before the old shed was cleared off the site

    The power company could have lost a phase momentarily and all your motor starters that are magnetically held could have loss control power and dropped out. Just guessing. 👍🏻. Great video Zack as always.

    As nice as those loader controls are, one of my favorite to use to be honest, they are junk. I've used one where I had to keep flicking that safety switch a few times before the control worked. Somedays it worked normal, others it was a constant nuisance all day. The only fix we were told was to replace the whole joystick, which is not very cheap

    Maybe protect the motor and the controls on the bins get a sheet metal company to make like a cover for it so it stays dry when you are not using it. The weather probably is not good for the Motors and levers.
