In 1998 into 1999 I worked for a car and van hire company in Aberdeen (Scotland) which shared the building with a Daihatsu dealer. The Daihatsu dealer was based out in the country (Torphins if anyone is familiar with the area) and there would be a parts delivery most days. Usually the guy would turn up in a Hijet, but a couple of times he turned up in a Midget 11. It was the first time I'd ever seen one (still never seen another in the flesh, so to speak) and I was instantly smitten!. Absolutely brilliant little thing, though being the single seat manual gearbox version and with the tiny pickup bed, probably of limited practical use beyond mobile advertising. I would have one in a heartbeat if I got the opportunity though, preferably the auto with its +1 seating and with the box/van body like the one in the video, but I'd take any! 👍👍👍👍
I love it because it looks so customizable! Add air con, a foldable seat in the back and a better sound system and you're golden or just keep it as is.
Not practical for me but it was probably great for delivering parts at a factory. Current best uses would be food delivery, florist delivery, auto parts delivery, courier or other small and light in town delivery. Bonus: Vinyl logo on the sides and get a ton of free advertising and public goodwill that the Midget creates by being so cool and fun. I was a mile from home in my Hijet today and a motorcycle was behind me at the red light. It passed me immediately after the intersection and the rider and passenger were both giving me very enthusiastic thumbs up.

A little clarification. The Midget II does not reference that it's a 2 seater. Even the 1 seater models are called Midget II. What that signifies is these trucklets are the second generation of the original Daihatsu Midget 3 wheeler trucklet, which were produced from the 50's to the 70's.
