I'd love to see an after shot of this after some of the moss grow because I've tried this method I don't know 20 times and it's never worked not even close. I've also come to find out, and some other places that the milkshake method doesn't work, because it actually cut them off up into such small pieces that the spore producing part of the plant gets destroyed.
1. Rinse moss in a bucket of water. Squeeze off excess. 2. Chop up moss finely with a knife (one type) 3. Let it dry for 2-3 days in shade. Don't let it dry completely though 4. Mix the chopped moss with fine particle clay soil (Japanese akadama is best) 5. Spread it on planks of wood 6. Keep it moist with a misting spray for 3-4 months It's slow, but it works. You should keep it outdoors but under a plastic canopy so that the rain and wind don't move it too much.
I hope to use this on some future art pieces for my college thesis! A few questions, does this only work on stone, or would raw or painted wood also work with this? Thanks!
Trying this technique with a slight modification. I've covered the rocks with the paste and I am frequently moisturising it by spraying water on top of it. The rocks are kept in an empty fish tank and I have put LED as the light source. However on day 2 it has started to give a smell and I can see fungus starting to grow on it. Is it normal or should I discard and start afresh ?
Hello Sir, thanx for the video. My question is how to keep the once grown moss alive laid on the surface of bonsai pot that is kept in sunlight? Waiting for your reply.
If your tree has thicker foliage that helps, but otherwise you just have to keep it damp, spray it with a small spray bottle so you don’t over water your tree. Or if you do drip/mist irrigation it will thrive on its own.
After you soak after soaking the stone in the formula do you still have to remove the blanket each time and put the formula on multiple times or apply the formula and the blanket just once and keep the blanket wet?
I am wondering whether I have a chance of growing it on an outside wall or not. Also, how long does it usually take to see the first little green signs of life? thanks
I have some artificial hollow plastic rocks that cover up irrigation valves in my yard. I would like to grow moss on these rocks because they are next to real rocks with moss. Will the moss grow on plastic artificial rocks? The plastic rock surface is not smooth.
I say a research that said the yogurt does nothing, I tried the experement for myself and there is no need for yogourt, it works fine with just water. The yogurt just acts as glue. Wet moss sticks to anything, just sayin'.
Why don’t you show what it looks like after the mistakes or stages of the most taking another words you’re soaked today in five days a show it’s starting to inch in on the deal on the sink and then another five days a show a little more of it and then we have an idea of how long it’s gonna take us to get the effects and if we want to stop it sooner we could see what the effects are we doing it in stages thank you
I don’t type so I wasn’t paying attention I was just dictating and after I read it I wish I could’ve deleted it you shouldn’t show this right after you first did the project. Wait five days and if there’s anything show it to us if not give it another five days if there’s something there then film it and at the end you’ll have a little portfolio with a different stages and how long it takes to get there without it we’re trying your stuff we have no idea what it will look like
@@KadraNk16 I read about this milk method (without the tea) in a book from before the age of the internet, so if it is a troll it's an old one that spread over language borders. It kinda makes sense because moss likes acidic growing conditions and the other components could break down to fertilizers.
how can you NOT SHOW END RESULTS?!?!
@@lorez201 it does work because I do it regularly for personal projects.

Sorry, we lost footage on this piece and the piece was sold so we can't film it anymore.
I must've tried this a dozen times, and it's never even come close to even resembling anything that might appear to just barely work.
Because moss painting is a myth. "Make sure it's natural yogurt" lol - as opposed to yogurt made from unnatural cows. What a lie

because it doesnt. that's why there's no update
The spores themselves can not be destroyed, which is the active part

What does the black tea do?
It would have been good to see a result

I'm sure this will work on most surfaces, if I were you I'd do a few small test pieces now so you know how it works for your art pieces.
Couple of questions: Does this work on ceramics? Can you use dried moss? How long do you leave wet sheets on it?

needs ventillation. smell is from anaerobic bacteria.
Brother did u get success?
@@brahmingaming4994 nope. But need to try with some cement as the base, coz the best I've seen it grow is on cement
MM yummy

Could you use this method to start moss in a garden?
Is the mixture safe to drink?

Just once & then keep the blanket wet

He needs to address several questions
A few weeks, providing not too much sun gets on the wall
that was great - many thanks mate
Would it be strange to try and taste the pond water yogurt blend?
yes
If we don't see the result then how are we suppose to take your formula?

Excellent video. Thanks for sharing the process.
Just found you and subscribed hoping you will come back to do more videos
What about headstone mosses ?

Moss can grow on practically anything if it is mostly in the shade
@@ConcreteCarving Thanks for your response, I hope you are correct. I have already made your formula and have it covered with rags on artificial rock.
forbidden milkshake
if you drink it you'll be turned into a forest creature... i wanna drink it now
Ooooh how does it look now?? :D
Can you refrigerate or freeze the yogurt moss mixture to use another time if you have leftovers?
Probably not.
I got mold, maybe too humid?
Definitely
Do you use white cement?
Sometimes yes. But that we used in the video was NHL 5
DO WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE????

Will this formula work on fabric? i.e. a chair
No.
you're so funny! Ive never thought of those ingredients being useful for growing moss!!!!!!
Update please
Okay what was the end result
Why should you not use chlorinated water?
A lot of plants prefer water without anything extra. Try distilled water with your houseplants they will be happier

Take a drink every time he says moss
Natural Yogurt... indeed. Synthetic Yogurt is sold at McDonalds as Soft Serve NOT Ice Cream. Made from Ghost Busters Slimmer Slime as Methylcelulose.
Yeah and wait to find out how they were refined sugar. I don't use regular water it has cloren but so the regular white sugar.
WHAT ARE THE RESULTS OMG!
Noooooooooo I never saw an after pic . 😢

Okay WTH his accent is British but the video is in the usa
It's TH-cam. It's worldwide.
Have you heard of people from other countries moving to the US? They don’t leave their accent at the border.
It's not that secret, isn't the formula, 14,558 people on TH-cam know about it lol
Just go with spoiled milk
Lame. Totally lame. Not a shred of evidence that this even worked.
