Those insane levels of trauma that William just went through are completely sidelined for Mark's meh relationship story, like it was just a bad night out and not a life altering and horrific thing to be a part of. Like, sure, it's more dumb-teenager stuff for Mark to hone in on girlfriend problems after that, but it's such a weird thing for the show not to focus on. It's just super bizarre to me that William and Rick's horror-show tragedy isn't given the amount of weight it should have on a friend group, especially when that experience is affecting Mark's best friend as directly as a plot point can. Even if none of them were super close as friends yet, the show really glosses over and moves on from a monumentally fucked up event that should be overshadowing the relationship spat by miles.

Like, William almost lost the boy who is is _first love,_ and we don't even know in what state Rick is left in after that episode, if he will ever recover, and they just... Expect us to care more about Mark and Amber for some reason??? Yeah, weird writing decisions.
Well, the focus of the show is Mark, not William. It's also not a story of therapy and recovering from trauma, but a coming of age story about a young superhero, stressing action and adventure. It's hard to find any superhero who hasn't had to be strong enough to deal with trauma and responsibility that would put most of us in a rubber room. You will see the consequences of such things more over the course of the series. But if you think this episode was traumatic, hold onto your butt.
Tbf it’s a long distance thing that seems to be fairly casual and sporadic… but still pretty traumatic. Maybe the idea is just to show that William is VERY strong (emotionally) and that makes him stronger than Invincible in a way.

Eve was 100% right when she said you have to be really sure about someone before telling them.
Turns out the best way to make a detestable character even more detestable is by having the actor behind the role be a POS as well (i.e. Percy Wetmore in The Green Mile)

I like to believe Omni man didn’t intervene because he knew battlebeast would give him a really hard time. Battle beast is one of the strongest characters in this universe, in the comics he has a multi-day battle with Throgg the leader of the viltrumites. Battle beast spends his whole life searching the galaxy for people worthy of battle and I think that’s so badass about him 😂

There was nothing weird about Amber's interaction with that college guy. If you have a party or social event, don't you want a good number of people there? That's all. Nolan is lying about his entire life, goal, and reason for being on Earth, to his wife who is a good person and is married to. @Diegesis he actually did. Right before he died, Nolan coughed up blood. The punches were casueing internal bleeding. I think that may have been the first blood drawn becuse Red rush was stopping Noland from touching the others. Once he goes down Nolan starts landing hits.

So the reason “atom eve” is her hero name has to do with her powers and suit logo. You can imply these next details on your own, but she can literally Change all forms of atoms; including themselves. I think it plays off of the
creation of humanity “Adam and Eve” since her power is literally creation. But I also think it could be a possible non binary nod or gender fluid. That’s my personal opinion but I hope I can give some possible insight!

1. The Reanimen are extremely powerful basically souped up super zombies
2. He barely recovered from nearly dying after being wrecked by an omniman level threat (yes battlebeast could probly body omniman) i think its even hinted hes mot fully back on his feet
3. Mark Grayson/Invincibles whole "thing" is hes a spiderman/nightwing/superboy pastiche.. getting his ass beat &always being up against it is literally oart of his character beat 😂 just like peter parker is always getting wrecked in the comics.
Ppl keep saying that mark did nothing wrong and amber is trash. I disagree with the "mark did nothing wrong" part and yeah he deserved to get dumped long before this, but his mistakes were some pretty standard mindless teen BS.
Amber on the other hand is absolutely full of herself, completely unreasonable, AND plays dumb on top of it (failing to be the grown up she demands mark to be), not to mention what happens at the very end of the season. Absolute garbage character.

There was nothing weird about Amber's interaction with that college guy. If you have a party or social event, don't you want a good number of people there? That's all. I run a social dance, and have organized a party or a movie night here and there. You want a good number of people for it to feel like a bangin' event.
This is the most disturbing episode of the show yet not as boring as epidode 2 or 5 (hot take). So im conflicted. But it is by far the most disturbing thing to happen in Invincible, i feel like.
i like ep 5 a lot but i agree that ep 2 is sorta weak. also ep 4
amber is the most toxic character in comic book history. She knew KNEW mark was invincible the whole time but gaslit him the entire time and abused him like someone who did not because she wanted him to suffer for not putting her minor inconveniences above saving human lives and the safety of the entirety of the world, She literally went to a party to get strange dick because he changed clothes before saving her and everyone else in this episode.
To be fair the power scaling is different in the show than In the comics in the comics Omni man wouldn’t be able to fight battle beast the white tiger guy in the last episode he’s way way way more powerful than everyone probably thought one of the funniest jokes I’ve seen about this show was machine head hiring battle beast to fight the guardians of the globe and invincible would be like king pin hiring thanos to fight in the first iron movie

Whether you agree with her or not, the Amber/Mark drama also provides a mirror to the Debbie/Nolan situation regarding lies and truths etc, and is important to Mark in that aspect regardless of the inherent frustration of the situation.

I think Amber gets more hate than she deserves, largely for what she says next episode. But also because they're in a relationship that, at least currently, isn't working. She gets called a bad character when she's mostly just a perfectly fine character in a bad relationship with someone we identify with.
