This was a good movie imo. The whole premise for why this movie even exist narratively wise is easy for me to get behind from a realistic angle. But overall I think Riddly’s objective was never to rival Glad 1 or have a main character who would equally rival Maximus. I think he only had 3 objectives for this film: Make it canon Maximus’s bloodline didn’t end with him. Have Lucius become (implied) emperor in the end. Make the Dream of Rome” better solidified as achieved in this movie.
While i dont like the movie not being historically accurate... It is a cinematic masterpiece! love the visual, Costumes and Sound design definitely much better production than that Napoleon movie! I do understand why movies tend to sacrifice historically accuracy in movies as it would be boring to watch it for some audience. Any movie recommendation about ancient antiquity? recently watch Alexander and Rome i crave for more!
@@commissargab6181 HBO's Rome is an unrepeatable masterpiece, if you have watched that it's really difficult to suggest anything better. Maybe try Spartacus by Starz or the most recent Those About to Die, but none of these is alla par with Rome.
despite the rhino rider is historically inaccurate but the real thing that annoys me in this fight is Lucius/ Hanno refuses to accept the mercy that was given by the emperors and then literally kills the other person, its wrong on so many levels but i guess its just a movie

Best movie of the year hands down, the absolute monumental scale of this is truly remarkable! The other movies that came out this year ain't even worth a single frame of G2 in terms of production, only Dune can somehow reach these heights, but even then, dune had a mediocre teenager cast!
