I remember when this happened live. When Woody began singing, my Grandmother and I smiled so hard. She always let me watch SNL as a kid, and I love the hell out of her.
Woody was great singing Elvis songs in Zombieland Double Tap!
Never seen the opening monologue of the Kirstie Alley SNL episode, WOW! So powerful! She acts as if she's surprized they're there, but I'm sure she knew.

How cool that they all showed up to support her -- Grammar I knew could sing, but Woody sounded pretty good too. The hiding of Wendt was a nice surprise. She was a very good sport in the "Bellisima" sketch where the guys all were all over her -- I doubt they could get away with that NOW. RIP, you beautiful, talented woman.
:) She apparently gave Dana Carvey full permission to lick all over her face. Great sport, wonderful actor that Kirstie Alley. R.I.P.

I just heard Kirstie Alley passed away at the age of 70 from battling cancer, it's so upsetting cause I luv her from Look Who's Talking films, and where she was on Scream Queens Season 2. May she rest in peace 🙏😔

I loved watching Cheers, and I loved the great chemistry between the cast. I still watch the reruns today, so you can imagine why this bit is so awesome to me. Thank you SNL for uploading this.

I remember the next time Kirstie Alley hosted, she did this same opening monologue, but THIS time it was the SNL cast members playing the cast members of Cheers! Adam Sandler as Rhea Pearlman?! Believe it!

I wish humans would just slow the hell down and take a breath. Maybe less shootings and people wouldn't walk around looking like they're gonna snap

When I was a kid watching Cheers in its first run in prime time, I used to think that Woody Harrelson was the original singer of the theme song lmao talk about a full circle moment 😆 🤣
Would've been totally killer if the audience went "Norm!" when George Wendt came up.
The next time she hosted, it was hilarious, the cast dressed up as the cheers cast, and sandler was dressed up as rita pullmans character, walking on his knees. The removed it from the streaming episodes and its not on youtube.....wtf.
Guess John Ratzenberger and Rhea Perlman couldn't make it.

They were a very tight knit group in the later years after Kirstie Alley replaced Shelley Long.
