  • Knee injuries are undeniably at the top of the list in grappling sports.
    Outside of leg locks alone, consider passing guard or attempting to sweep your opponent from guard. The sport’s kinematics often demand force production in vulnerable positions, sometimes at high velocities, typically at end ranges of motion, with significant knee flexion combined with tibial rotation.
    While we can’t predict injuries, we can certainly minimise risk by incorporating the following movement prep sequence before your next grappling class.
