Valeria Mignaco, soprano Alfonso Marin, lute Performed at the presentation of our latest CD "Clear or Cloudy" for the label Musica Ficta. English Reformed Church (Engelse Kerk), Amsterdam 13-February-2010.
Two people couldnt cherish the beauty of the interpretation and the composition. In these times (2018) we could need some more of this calm and introspective music.
Sorrow, sorrow stay, lend true repentant tears, To a woeful wretched wight, Hence, despair with thy tormenting fears: O do not my poor heart affright, Pity, help now or never, Mark me not to endless pain, Alas I am condemnèd ever, No hope, no help there doth remain, But down, down, down, down I fall, Down, and arise I never shall.
Je ne me lasse pas de réécouter ce song qui comble mon âme mélancolique. Cette version est sans doute la plus expressive, celle qui suscite l'émotion la plus vive. Merveilleuse interprétation.
You 2 can do MUSIC. Music is not just sing and play. Music is sing, play, feel, interpretate and also add you in the music with out go away of the composer idea. You 2 are the full package, real musicans, congratlations for the talent and thanks to share it ;)
Gorgeous. Haunting. Perfection. Voice, lute and interplay between. Le tout ensemble. I can't tell you how nice this sounds right now. Straight to my favorites.
I have to sing this piece myself at a concert with a viola da gamba ensemble. This is a wonderful performance and I always use it as an example for myself. Thank you! :)

Some music speaks directly to the heart...ineffible and beautiful expressions of Elizabethan melancholy...

I love the beautiful delicacy with which you perform these great works.
