I’m on my fourth reading of Angela’s Ashes, and I always discover something new each time I read it. I have two friends who were students of McCourt at Stuyvesant high school, and they remember him telling some of these stories to the class.

God rest his soul. This man was undoubtedly one of the most brilliant authors of our time. I recall in 'Tis he spoke of his college teacher asking his class who they're favorite author was and why... thanks to this man, I have an answer to that question. Rest in peace, Teacher Man.

I have probably read this book six times, and that is not including having my homeschooler read it to me. His book 'Tis is also wonderful. How he can put so much humor amongst such anguish is amazing.

One of the most gifted writers of my time.I loved his virtual lack of punctuation in his books. He always told his tale in true irish fashion...with a heavy does of sel-deprecating sarcasm.Being almost full-Irish myself on one side of the familt,i related to Frank Mccourt.Every book he wrote left you wanting more.I can't believe he is now gone from this earth. This makes me want to make peace with god just so i'll be able to see him again when i am gone!R.I.P,friend.

Frank Mccoourt is amazing! Very gifted writer of our time. I love how he makes humor of his situation. The whole book Angelas ashes is very sad and to be honest there wasnt one funny part when i read the book twice. After watching him read that part I couldnt stop lauging. Very talented writer and speaker. Rip Francis Mccourt! You WILL be missed!

I'm still holding on to 'Angela's Ashes' from the first day I purchased it. Though I lived in a different continent, his childhood in many ways, relates to mine.

Angela's Ashes is one of my many favorite books; and one of my favorite audio books as well. If you love the book but never tried listening to the audio version of it, I highly recommend it. It's narrated by the author and it's so refreshing to hear it with his native brogue and his abilities of retelling of his stories.

After you read this masterpiece, listen to it on audiobook. It’s read by the author and it’s incredible.

Mr. McCourt was such a fabulous person with so much insight and irony to share with us all. Wouldn't it be nice to have been able to actually share a pint with this man? Maybe two? (0; rip brilliant man.

@MsEllanvannin You're very welcome. Try your local library if you don't want to purchase it. If they don't carry it, ask for an Inter Library Loan to borrow it from another library. :-)
