If you watch and listen to a lot of Carpenters on utube you’ll know that at least half the people get tears. It’s amazing!!! It happens to me too. Their music is phenomenal! And I doubt there is any other music that evokes this much emotion to make so many people cry. 😊
My mother introduced me to this beautiful woman's voice when i was a kid. Now, I am filled with beautiful, wonderful memories of both of these major life influences, and thanks to TH-cam, I am able to relive these memories. Thanks Mom!
Your "enhancements" are GREAT! This is my all-time favorite Carpenters tune. Released 42 years ago and I still love it! Sad to think that Karen left us 35 years ago already... Thanks again for all of your hard work you put into this and reintroducing us to this classic Carpenters track!
I remember listening to The Carpenters, like every one else, growing up in the 70s. As a teenager of 15,1983, heard the news of Karen's passing. Broke my heart. So young. So talented. I, as everyone else, miss you Karen.❤
This sound enhancement that sounds more like an exquisite arrangement only makes this song infinitely better. My face is soaked in tears. This is my most favorite Carpenter's song. In the top 10 of my list of other American music.
My Oh My!! Slap on some quality headphones. The instrumentation and harmonies are off the charts. Karen’s voice is crystal clear, pitch perfect and superb as usual. Richard really knew how to compose and arrange songs which brought out the best in Karen. These songs are timeless gems 💎
Excellent, clean re-master. 'Course, if you started with their CD, you had a heck of a mix to start with. I've listened to their songs time and again. She is my all-time favorite female vocalist. My late wife loved her, too. We spent many an hour listening, singing to each other, and basically enhancing our lives together. Thanks for the good work.
Carpenters are unmatched! Loved them then and never stopped. Love the video here and a quite impressive batch of photos put together and highly interesting to see the various collections of the tune.
Years ago I took alot of guff for liking the Carpenters. My friends could not understand listening to anything that did not blow your eardrums out. To each his or her own.
Carpenters are the best! Like singer/composer Paul Williams said that some people called them "vanilla," but how exquisite a flavor vanilla is. Karen Carpenter is one of the finest singers who ever lived and her perfect pitch and impeccable timing (and Richard's arrangements) are awesome any singer or group would be lucky to have.
I was one of those kids who was to “cool” to like the Carpenters. Now I’m much older, maybe a little wiser and I miss them. This song and Superstar always touch me deeply. Among others.
I 'd like to do "Yesterday Once More" and a few others. The beauty of these songs is unmatched in the annals of music and I'm quite privileged to be able to promote these songs anyway I can. Thanks to all of you who send nice comments. Glad I have an audience to share them with.
Oh the memories from my childhood. I’d heard & liked The Carpenters records but it was this song “Only Yesterday “ that turned like to love. I was 10 years old when it debuted in 1975. Karen Carpenters voice is such a beautiful, unique instrument.
Kenn, this is wondeful, you have given this song such depth and it sounds so fresh and clean, you have made Karen's voice sound simply wonderful !!! This is a triumph thank you so much, sounds wonderful. Best Wishes Nick
Most people forget she was a drummer first and a singer second. In a 1975 Playboy magazine readers poll, Karen Carpenter was voted the best rock drummer of the year-beating out Led Zeppelin's John Bonham.
Your comments are understood. A&M didn't produce outstanding sounding recordings but this album and specifically this track, was an exception. But you should be proud, you did improve it and it is even more clear and detailed than the original.
I didn't think it was possible either. When you get these requests (and they throw the book at you) and up comes the Carpenters I thought to myself "these songs don't need to be to be improved on" so what am I to do to improve on them? You almost have to be a crazy man to take on some of these musical challenges. I will say one thing about the Carpenters. When I decided to work on some of their songs there could be no sloppy piling of tracks on top of the original without serious consideration. I had to sharpen my talents to the absolute extreme if I was to make any improvement on these songs. These people are incredible I want to honor their memory by keeping the standard as high as I can. I plan on doing more Carpenters in the future too. Kenn
Love how you brought out Jim Gordon's drums. If he didn't turn out to be such a psycho, he might have been remembered as one of the best drummers in the world.
I LOVE the additional vocal harmonies as well as the subtle nuances adding additional depth to Karen's voice. Well done my friend ! I dare you to take on Goofus...LOLOL
If you like to hear the raw depth of Karen's voice, check out this original first-generation stereo master tape. It's breathtaking. th-cam.com/video/F-CJ_KNNWns/w-d-xo.html
@@JohninTucson Your very welcome JohninTucson. This mix is one of the unfinished stereo masters before the echoes were added to the vocals so you can hear Karen's voice in its purest form. Thanks for checking it out.
Nicely done! May I suggest their version of Please, Mr. Postman? Excellent multi-guitar soloing in the background in addition to the always superb vocals.
Superb enhancement. Even though the edited version is excellent, I've always preferred the album version. Would it be possible and hopefully not too much of a bugger to produce an enhanced version of it?
I agree. It's only adding 27 seconds but there's something about the LP version which would make an enhanced version that much greater. Hands down it's that 27 seconds!
Such a special voice. Tears are in my eyes when I hear Karen sing. Miss her even today. Thank you Karen

She was the best by far,,,so clear and great🎉

This is the best Carpenters song..... what a voice!!!
Yes, so beautiful... this low sound is magic and angelical.

Unbelievable crisp and clear, 1:07 - 2:12. can hear every string on the guitar. Great mix.
I could listen to this song endlessly......her voice is amazing :)
Arrange最高ですわ~!!LYRICも最高ですわ~何度も何度も聴きました!❤😂🎉😢😮😅😊

It's like listening to it for the first time. Oh God!! thanks.
Possibly the best Oldies channel I could find till now!
That mid-range tone. I still cry when i hear her Angelic voice. Gone but her voice will live on forever in millions of peoples hearts.
One of The Carpenters finest, ever. Karen's fantastic low-contralto is so perfect on this ! Spring/ summer of '74. --------------WolfSky9
Not like we need 2B pickers & choosers, her low contractor was perfection on this & everything she touched! Respect to Wolfsky 🎇

Wow. Just wow. You did A LOT with this one. Gorgeous.
Oh how I miss Karen, such a comforting voice.
Years ago I took alot of guff for liking the Carpenters. My friends could not understand listening to anything that did not blow your eardrums out. To each his or her own.
Totally it was so uncool to like the Carpenters, but I just shined on everyone and listened to their albums popular or not!
I always loved the Carpenters.

Absolutely brilliant! Thank you!
The most perfect song ever.

I didn't Karen could sound better but so clear - wow! Love this and thanks!
What a great song. Sounds better.
What talent they both had ~ RIP dear Karen
p.s. Sound is excellent!
The sound quality you play is very delicate, and the music is as beautiful as it once was.
Sounds so good, it sounds like it was recorded yesterday!!

Nice job on the enhancement, Kenn. EDB
2019 still the best..
My favorite Carpenter's song. Karen's voice -- one-of-a-kind!
Impressive your enhancements, sir. My ears thank to you.
Very nice. Sounds natural, as if it was always supposed to sound this way. 👍👌
THANK YOU FOR THIS 🫶
Sounds AMAZING. Thank you !!
Most people forget she was a drummer first and a singer second. In a 1975 Playboy magazine readers poll, Karen Carpenter was voted the best rock drummer of the year-beating out Led Zeppelin's John Bonham.
What a musician and spectacular voice she had. Great job on mixing these enhancements!
incredible Mix !!

Karen had the voice of the angels.
The drumming on this track is incredible!! 🥁
Excelente Karen como siempre! , en 0:42 hay una segunda voz que no había escuchado en ninguna otra versión , impecables Los Carpenters .
Wow! Awesome stereo sound even when using my inexpensive headphones. Sorry that it was a nightmare for you.
My all time favorite song of theirs
Karen's Golden Voice - timeless.
the style of that kind of music had to come back is very beautiful
This is one of the few good recordings that A&M did to begin with. This is a marked improvement.
Love this remastered
Hermosa canción y el sonido increíble e insuperable, gracias. 😁😁😁😁
Always been my fav
Love her 💜❤️💛
Amazing sound quality.
Love it. Never understood why this (among other songs) did not make the RPO album cut. We can cross our fingers for a Vol 2 ❤️❤️
Yes - wondering if Richard will give this the RPO treatment, too! Among my top 5 Carpenters tunes today!
This is really great...you did a wonderful job...Thanks for sharing !!
你所播放的音質,非常的细腻,音樂優美彷彿回到了從前美好的時光。

I didn't think it was possible to improve The Carpenters, but you've done it - a great job, nice complimentary harmonies too!

Sounds so great with the enhancement.

The doctors he saw misdiagnosed his schizophrenia for alcohol abuse. If he’d been treated properly, there’s no telling what he might have done more…
I LOVE the additional vocal harmonies as well as the subtle nuances adding additional depth to Karen's voice. Well done my friend ! I dare you to take on Goofus...LOLOL

Would that she could have thrown her sadness away.
Thank you so much! 😀
LUV IT!!
One of their best
Please, please, please release CD's!!!
Sounds wonderful
RIP Karen 😢😢 you was as an angel voice 💜💜💜💜💜
this may just be my favorite carpenter's number. And there must be like a hundred different instruments in it.
Along with Ann Murray the most beautiful alto female voice ever! Well done, Kenn!
except karen had a greater octave range, and crisper perfect diction and enunciation and also could hold a "note" up to 20 seconds or more....
Grupo Musical Espetacular!!
Very nice mix!
Karen had Such a Beautiful Voice, She died too young.
This was a muddy recording, but you fixed it!
Nice mix!!
❤️
Great sound…. Listening on earbuds
Nicely done! May I suggest their version of Please, Mr. Postman? Excellent multi-guitar soloing in the background in addition to the always superb vocals.

Eu amo sua voz e sua música 😍😍
Good stuff
Great version ! Who remixed it?
She made beautifull songs, those where the days
Wow! It sounds like Karen is right next to me.🙂
Bravo!
Now if this mix was made for the "long" version, I'd surely rate it 10/10 :D But it's fantastic nonetheless :D

Very nice sound thank you so much ! 😘 I beg a favor of you.
I want to hear Cliff Richard's new sound.
