this goes so hard. this gives off tge vibe that an entire squad or more HECU soldiers have been fighting through thick and thin and have survived through all the events of HL1 and HL2 and after years of searching, theyve found him. and their minds just snap and all hell breaks loose as they try everything in their power to take freeman down i cannot state enough how vivid this image is in my head, after the “20m 10m FREEMAN” bit and then the hard fucking like breakdown bit starts i genuinely get goosebumps every single time
there is no reason they would be searching for freeman after hl1. and much less during/after hl2. and dont say "revenge for fallen friends" because the combine have done much worse.
Honestly it would kind of be interesting if a combine overwatch division in special colors would hunt Freeman throughout HL3. As you progress through the game, it's revealed that these soldiers were the same ones at Black Mesa with a grudge to settle that bypasses their forced conscription.
They'd all probably be too old to be soldiers by then realistically. Though they were probably all killed by the Combine in the 7 hour war. Kind of sucks to imagine being a HECU soldier that barely manages to escape Black Mesa and the Xen only to get dunked on by the Combine immediately after.
I think the constant repetition of “Forget about Freeman” is on purpose. I imagine a group of HECU marines each are saying in response to the message “We’re not forgetting about Freeman” and the guy on the radio is trying to bring back as many men as possible. Somethin’ like that.
I wish I could find the original "Forget about Freeman!" sound file from HL1. I like that take more than the one used in Black Mesa, as good as everything else is.

I want a Adrian Shepard prequal or sequel to Half-life 2 where he is either going through the after math of city seventeen and or he's fighting in the 7 hour war which he is pulled out of which causes the loss of the resistance/military. (And I hope its done well not like Hunt Down The Refund)
Shephard is stuck in Joe Biden's crack dimension during the 7 Hour War, so it wouldn't fit in with the course of the events, but nothing is known of Shephard after that, in fact there is an Opposing Force 2, taking place in City 17 if i remember right, in development as a HL2 mod, and it's pretty high quality, definitely worth checking out the demo.
