Sir, I could kiss you! I've been racking my brain to try and figure out how to make my dust collection system more efficient with my table saw. I had no idea how to make it compatible with an overhead hose/collection. I kept "hitting a wall" and everything I tried or thought of ended up not working. However, your video just showed me how to make it work! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That was really, really clever. Your videos are great - no unnecessary talking, just watching you at work.

You are an extremely intelligent man. I have watched all your build videos and I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing you cannot do with wood and metal. This project was pure genius. Thanks for sharing your talents and experience my friend. I wish you could do more build videos, but I do understand it takes a lot of time and effort to film and edit videos. Have a nice day, and thank you so very much.

@Morgan Ibrahim I do give a damn, if you have something to say that helps us deal with our problems and life in general.
Trust is the foundation of all successful relationships. Otherwise, one is wasting their life. May God bless you my friend.

All of your projects are so innovative ,this one is no exception, it really works very well, much better than the system I have just payed £1000 for! Many thanks for posting.

One of the benefits of having TH-cam TV is that during the commercials, or while listening to a news broadcast, I can open another tab don't have to put up with annoying commercials -- like those from Progressive Insurance. Pause it, click on another tab for several minutes, click back on "Live", and love it.

It makes a massive difference having an over head extraction. I compare my table saw to the one at work and it's noticeable.

Slick build, what does the traveling sled do for you.? Is that just to get it out of you way?
I like the way you designed the sled, that being said it seemed like a lot of work for something that could be swung out of the way. Always a thousand ways to do anything just curious if it serves another purpose.
Thanks for the ideas, I'm trying to pick a design for my application.

Great idea t use the router table with a v-cutter to locate the aluminium angle brackets, that's a sure-fie way to get them parallel! :-)

Nice job as usual. I like everything but the dryer duct. Of course it is cheap and if it wears out it will be cheap to replace. It does like cool and shiny!

I chose this for two reasons.
First, the bulky is small (less than 5 inches when not in use, very attractive in small shops)
Secondly, it is very light, that's why I chose it.
For reference, this is a lot stronger than I thought,

I'll have to check it out and your right the shiny is cool looking.

    Hello Mr JE
I am very interested about making some of your hand planes etc but really struggle to see any dimensions that might somewhere be written during your videos. Might i suggest that whilst sometimes you stop and allow us to view a dimension ( like when you are setting your Table saw Fence ) but then is you are using a square to dimension/run a pencil line you tend not to linger on the dimensions.
What would in fact be better is if you were to sell plans of your work ! I would be your first Customer.
Please Carry on with your Videos as they are brilliant !!

Nice project, one question, with the aluminum tube, don't have static discharges, with the dust?

    • @YoungJe
      @YoungJe  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No problem,
I used clean dust hose and black hose, but it was not good to have a small shop because it was heavy and bulky.
The dryer hose is light and small (less than 5 inches when folded when not in use).

Nice use of used materials. That plastic is not that hard to bend I've done it.
As for tapping in aluminum they make a tapping fluid for that material its not the same as the stuff you use on steel.
I've also used a drill motor to tap. but a drill press with a tap-o-matic is better. I worked in a machine shop.
For one off items like this A drill works. I think I'd have used some lock tight on the bolts and nuts or a cheap way to do it is use a dab of silicon on the threads so the nuts can't back off don't laugh it works.
On the celing part I think I'd add a cross brace so its not wobbly.
And you can buy 4-6" hose for dust collectors insted of dryer vent hose. You could arch the hose all the way up and come down out of the way.
    Over all its great.
And the idea could be placed to cover both a table saw and router station and jointer or any other tool like a drill press
but it may have to be on an radial arm type swing so you get x-y and z axes.
Also when cutting plastic's on the table saw its best to ahve a zero clearnce incert as vibrations off the blade can shader the plastic. I've had plastic parts blow up on me doing that. ABS but that was Lexan

    Excellent video (as usual)
Just a question: why did you choose not to install a riving knife on your table saw?
Personally I think it's extra security
And I could not do without it.
Thank you again for taking the time to share.

I also think that it is extra security.
