Hi, really nice work. Congrats! Unfortunately your website does not work anymore. Is it somehow possible to get the information about dimensions and materials? Best regards gospat
What a Super design, I have seen many different panel saw ideas on TH-cam, varying from the very basic, to the highly complex, sophisticated and inevitably expensive, but this is Ideal in my humble opinion, no complex proprietary expensive hardware, logical design using common easily obtainable components, and one of the very best things I think, you don’t need to modify your Circular Saw in any way, and it’s still easily removable when needed for other purposes, Bravo Sir, I’m so impressed this is the one I am going to make for myself, I have wanted a nice accurate wall mounted panel saw for a long while in my workshop, and I know exactly the principles behind them, as I worked with an industrial machine for over 20 years, but never had the resources to purchase my own, nor the justification for the investment for my own personal use, and nothing else I have seen either on TH-cam, or commercially available has exactly met my budget, or in the case of self built projects, been within the scope of my skills and facilities Your design ticks every box for me, and I’m looking forward to making my own version, though mine probably won’t have nicely chrome plated and polished rails like yours ! - Julie❤
Do you like my "Parallel Guided Power Saw?" seen on you tube. Do you wish to join me to manufacture it. On the video you may see some pyramids I cut with my saw, which cannot be easily cut with another saw. The manufacturing company does not want my saw, so we have to start our company to make it.
Wonderful! 👏 👏 👏 Great work! Thanks a million for sharing. I've been searching for ways to build a vertical panel saw, due to its major advantage of saving space. I'm def gonna build this, but with bottom rollers for smoother conveying of panels. Thanks once again, God bless you loads.
Perfeito !! Ótimo projeto. Muito criativo. Parabéns pelo trabalho. Boa tarde. Ótimo final de semana. Abraços brother. Falando de São Paulo Brasil 🇧🇷 👏👏👏🤘👊🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
very impressive , would probably work better with tubes rather than box section but use what you can get hold of and whats cheaper. good job. I can see lots of upgrades being made in people's thoughts that write on here like tape measures, end stops, dust collection and so on, I think also a little bit more weight would make it easier on the counter balance.
i think that would be the advantage of just fixing the track to do horizontal cuts and just rotating the sheet 90 degrees...problem then is you need a ladder .... for the first 4' cuts..... a horizontal rack/ platform makes it easier but takes of more space.... All ways have pros and cons, but its fun to think about for sure.
You should have put wheels on the bottom that the piece of wood you want to cut steps on, or a surface to help it slide, because the wood will deteriorate over time. Your build can't cut large pieces and your saw can't move left and right, so you could do the same job with an additional rail attachment for radial saws.
El proyecto está buenísimo pero sería excelente que hubiera un pdf para descargarlo y seguir el paso a paso la construcción de este panel, gracias por su aporte.
1974, I am sure you older guys seen this, We had a saw like this in a lumber company, and You could turn the saw ninety degrees, And cut your 2 x 8 pieces, Easily. I cut dang near one hundred pieces of half inch celotex, Black sheating, seven inches by eight feet, for expansion joints for a large concrete pour.
Looks good. However, there are too many variables, to achieve accuracy and maintain it, precision is required. A track saw would give much more accurate and repeatable results, and would be less expensive. There is a reason why panel saws are so expensive, it takes accuracy and stability to maintain precision.
Excellent just the help i was looking for, thanks alot. It would have helped if you had some diagrams added to the info shared by you. All in all thanks for it. 😊
Well, I think I can answer this one for you my friend, a vertical panel saw takes up much less space in your workshop, also it’s much easier to load a full sized sheet onto it single handed, I worked with an industrial one in a well known DIY Store for many years, and often had to load a full sheet of Plywood or MDF alone, and a vertical panel saw makes that possible, as to accuracy, spot on so long as everything is parallel and square, I suggest you have a go at making your own, I think you will agree it’s by far the safest and easiest way to accurately cut large sheet materials-Julie 😊
You could obviously build it taller if you want to make vertical cuts on a full sheet of plywood. But, who has a garage with a 10 foot ceiling? You'd need at least 9 feet for the sled to stand vertical and another foot for saw clearance at the top. Plus, a ladder to use it in the first place.
@stephenbustos actually its a good design but not really that convenient. I'd rather use a guide because its convenient and you can cut any size you want. Hehe
@krcjimenez1425 I generally use a straight edge guide to break down sheets to more workable pieces. If I was breaking down dozens a day, I'd build this jig, but since I don't, I'll stick to a straight edge guide.
Is there a way to make sure that political ads are not shown on your channel? Just curious. I don’t care which side they’re on, by the way. Great video, by the way. As a disabled woodworker, I’m looking to build this.
Generally TH-cam’s algorithm decides based on the viewer; the content creator has no control over what is played for you. Your ads (if non-premium) are different than the ones I would be seeing.
You could quite easily if you modify the saw carriage so you can turn it through 90°, also add some rollers on the bottom track to make the panel glide through smoothly, the beauty of a self built machine or jig is you can modify it to your own needs and available materials/components, this is an excellent starting point, and I applaud the simplicity, but you could modify it in dozens of different ways to suit yourself, and I’m sure many viewers will, myself included-Julie 😊

This gentleman is a genius in simplicity and perfection
very perfect and useful tool, I think you could put bearings on the bottom to slide the panel (for some heavier panel)
Love it when carpenters do the work this neat. Very satisfying infact. 👍
El que sabe, sabe!👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 GRACIAS! Saludos desde Argentina.
Great bills I need one of these for my shop😊
Our best video yet. Great job
Very useful and perfect tool for wood cutting❤

Excellent project. Thank you for sharing. How about adding some bearings along the bottom rail to make sliding the plywood sheet easier?
JSK has taught you well...
Need to put a kit TOGETHER and sale it to us,lol😂😂😂😂

🔥
If you could add a 90 degree swivel for the saw, then that would be even better. But job well done. I love this work
G E N I O. Estas en condiciones de fabricar un satélite. M A E S T R O.
Fantastic very good BRASIL
Well done. Maybe put rollers on the bottom plate and make the saw index 90 deg. Then you can rip an 8 ft long sheet. 😃

@ years ago I had a panel saw in my cabinet shop. That was the best investment ever. Home Depot uses the same one.

First, I just wanna say, thank you not adding these loud annoying music. Lol. Now I can actually watch what you're doing.

Excelente trabalho ,prático funcional ,parabéns

good job!
Sir you have 👍
How accurate compared to table saws could this be? Interested in maybe building one for my shop.

Maybe I missed it. What is there to squaree the saw to the panel..
How would you cut. it length wise, say to get 2 2x8 pieces? It is limited to one direction of cutting.
Do you like my "Parallel Guided Power Saw?" seen on you tube. Do you wish to join me to manufacture it. On the video you may see some pyramids I cut with my saw, which cannot be easily cut with another saw. The manufacturing company does not want my saw, so we have to start our company to make it.

this design is not good if you wanna cut a plywood vertically. so its not "the ultimate plywood panel saw'"

Get TH-cam premium
Generally TH-cam’s algorithm decides based on the viewer; the content creator has no control over what is played for you. Your ads (if non-premium) are different than the ones I would be seeing.
I wish you works explain while showing. This way it is a very useless video.
Very good. But, we can't cut that sheet, vertically.i mean, long side of the sheet
