V6 yeah naturally aspirated! No turbo issues, selectable AWD/FWD with different modes none of the other lux models offer that. The XT5 is a really great SUV. The movable storage area divider, the storage cubbies everywhere, the OEM extras you can add like lighted door sills etc. Hands down looks wise the XT5 is above the others at a much better price point and great warranty. Cadillac should refresh and keep it. They actually just announced they will carry over to 2025.
Exactly price matters and much less than the Lexus. Also the 4 cylinder much better on gas and with the direction everything is going in with EV's... big 6's not so desirable imo.
Great reliable 3.6L V6 with good power, great for highway driving. I had a similar engine in my 2017 Impala Premier. I think the XT5 deserves a redesign before it’s discontinued, or at least a refresh since an update is all it really needs. This design, both interior and especially the exterior, aged surprisingly well.
Don’t know how I missed this review Lol. But I have the 2023 Cadillac XT5 Sport in white exterior with Maple Sugar interior and suede headliner. Loaded it up fully and love every feature. The ride is incredible and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Perfect sized for me. The. GMC Yukon is great, but I have more fun in the XT5. Anyway, another thorough review. Great job gentlemen!
I own XT5.Unlike Lincoln Nautilus, XT5 doesn't have a floaty boaty ride. It is smooth, but it has some solid aspect of the suspension tuning and very well controlled rolling in the curve. The Bose performance is the way to go. V6 is adding the joy of fun driving. The only thing that XT5 is missing is the road noise, especially in rough-surfaced ones.
@@gosman949 they are actually quite different vehicles. The XT 4 is a bit more sporty and the engine responds that way. The XT5 is more refined and comfortable with a very smooth running engine.

The all new 2025 XT5 was suppose to be China only because GM announced that Cadillac is going to be an all EV brand. Such shortsightedness when the timeline to become an all EV brand is 2030. With the low demand for EV's, it looks like GM is changing their mind. I read now that GM is looking to bring the 2025 China only XT5 to America. Woohoo!!
I've got an 18 model & I love it, there just isn't enough difference from mine to a new one. My car is like new,they'd probably offer me 20 or less on a trade in...no way I'm doing that.
my dad just traded his in on an Blazer EV. I drove it a few times. The strengths to me was the ride and handling. Just drives very nice. Engine is fine back seat is small. Tech in his 2018 was not great.
That was only the second year of the XT5 after its debut in 2017. Tech at the time was of their old “CUE” system which has improved since then. It was just as horrid in the Escalade as it was in your dad’s XT5. My my my how far Cadillac has come in that regard. If you’ve seen the interior of a 2024 XT4, that’s what an updated XT5 would look like - just a bit fancier and more luxurious since it sits above that of the XT4 in the lineup. Think of an ICE powered Cadillac Lyriq.
I agree that is it likely improved quite a bit. I would think his new Blazer might be similar to the XT4, I will be trying it in 2 weeks. BTW the XT5 V6 really does drive nice. Best of luck! @@G-Rated

Once they update the interior to the rest of the Cadillac lineup it'd be a no brainer for me. This, the Lincoln, and the Genesis are my favorites in the segment.
One item on this Cadillac XT5 that seems to get over looked. This vehicle has the V6 but it also runs in V4 mode which lowers the rpm and improves the mileage. I have driven at various speeds and as long as the road is fairly flat, the V4 mode will kick in. You can find the feature in the centre display which will show it running in V6 or V4.
@@gosman949 Have not had any issues and everyone I know who has one has never had a problem. Some mechanics might give the idea a negative vibe. There are plenty of XT5’s out there and if it was a problem I’m sure it wouldn’t sell as they do. But if that’s a turn off for you I can understand.
I know this is an old video but I am hoping someone who is looking for one of these sees this comment, and considers the one Achilles heel this vehicle has. I love mine, it is a GOOD vehicle. But this past month we found a huge design flaw completely by "accident". While traveling we hit a rubber cone that got knocked into the road directly in front of us by a semi, and when we hit it I expected some scuffing on the bumper or whatever, but our vehicle ended up being completely disabled in the middle of nowhere. And as it turns out it is commonplace for these. Tires, pieces of tire tread, rocks, anything around 10-12" high has the potential to go straight through a largely unprotected channel and wipe out the weirdly low hanging a/c condenser AND radiator if it is solid enough. And apparently this is common place for these things to go through a/c condensers just from random rocks. The lower bumper is extremely flimsy when hit and with so much of the condenser and the radiator hanging below any sort of bumper bar or bumper reinforcement, this is not surprising. This is a huge flaw and an surprisingly expensive one as it uses 1234yf refrigerant $709 just for the system fill let alone the parts, and should be considered. Thanks for reading.
If they just gave this 10" touchscreen the Envision has it would help not make this look as outdated as it does with the 8" screen which makes it have the smallest center screen in the segment
The XT5 Is a compact crossover & the XT4 is a subcompact crossover. The XT5 doesn't compete with the NX. It competes more with the Lexus NX than it does with the RX
Kinda wild how half of Cadillac’s lineup is at the top of the class while the other half has fully fallen behind. I know the Lyriq is the replacement for this but this shouldn’t be on sale without a refresh.
I mean... not too bad. But it looks like an old fashioned car for elderly people. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but they could really do something to update this.
@@sachemrock It is a far nicer profile than other competitors in the market. It has a more natural profile than a Lexus and is nicer looking than Mercedes box look. The real issue here is that the young people who want flashy bling bling are not the consumer because they cannot afford it due to them starting out in life and when they are ready to buy they will reject the flashy in favour of traditional design. It is like wearing a cartoon tee shirt when you are 7 years old and a leather jacket when you are 27.

I rented a SUV at the Tampa Airport 2 months ago and they gave me a 2023 XT6, nice looking vehicle but the driver's seat was hard and uncomfortable and within 100 miles my legs were numb and had saddle sores. My 2023 Nissan Pathfinder seat is so comfortable and alot less money than a Cadillac.

A $38k Hyundai Palisade is more luxurious and more attractive than this. Why do people buy these craptastic Cadillacs? They don't look particularly good. They aren't particularly reliable. The resale is terrible compared to other luxury brands. I just don't get it.
@@lilred1107 The Hyundai theft issue only pertains to certain years of certain models with a key ignition. So basically the lower trims of the cheaper models. I believe they all come standard with push-button ignition now. The GM 3.6L is infamously problematic. Many die from timing chain failure before 150k miles.

With this being a successful model for Cadillac, I think this deserves to stay around in NA. That new model overseas is beautiful.

My aunt has an XT5. 80,000 miles so far. Only routine maintenance. She likes it.
XT5s are reliable actually.
The Lexus LED Headights will wear out and the cost is $3500.00 for one. That stings a bit.

They are nice interiors that work. Most modern interiors are not that good and are too bling and very open to scratches and scuffs.

A $38k Hyundai Palisade is more luxurious and more attractive than this. Why do people buy these craptastic Cadillacs? They don't look particularly good. They aren't particularly reliable. The resale is terrible compared to other luxury brands. I just don't get it.

Except your Caddie isn't a theft magnet nationwide, and the XT5 is actually very reliable.
@@lilred1107 The Hyundai theft issue only pertains to certain years of certain models with a key ignition. So basically the lower trims of the cheaper models. I believe they all come standard with push-button ignition now. The GM 3.6L is infamously problematic. Many die from timing chain failure before 150k miles.
@@palebeachbum You realize the majority of Hyundai/Kia's on the road are lower trims, plus that doesn't stop the idiot teenager from at least breaking into a slim chance higher trimmed model. There are several variations of the 3.6L engine,in which earlier versions with timing chain issues were addressed and corrected with later versions.

I know this is an old video but I am hoping someone who is looking for one of these sees this comment, and considers the one Achilles heel this vehicle has. I love mine, it is a GOOD vehicle. But this past month we found a huge design flaw completely by "accident". While traveling we hit a rubber cone that got knocked into the road directly in front of us by a semi, and when we hit it I expected some scuffing on the bumper or whatever, but our vehicle ended up being completely disabled in the middle of nowhere. And as it turns out it is commonplace for these. Tires, pieces of tire tread, rocks, anything around 10-12" high has the potential to go straight through a largely unprotected channel and wipe out the weirdly low hanging a/c condenser AND radiator if it is solid enough. And apparently this is common place for these things to go through a/c condensers just from random rocks. The lower bumper is extremely flimsy when hit and with so much of the condenser and the radiator hanging below any sort of bumper bar or bumper reinforcement, this is not surprising. This is a huge flaw and an surprisingly expensive one as it uses 1234yf refrigerant $709 just for the system fill let alone the parts, and should be considered. Thanks for reading.
